The Berlin-based blog and record label, NovaFuture returns with their fourth vinyl release, “We Are Flying High”. The record is a compilation featuring the work from four of the blog’s affiliate artists and incorporates elements of techno and trance, with uplifting, arpeggiated leads and dark, distorted beats.

The four-track sampler opens with MSKD’s “Entropy And Versatile”, a melancholic and atmospheric track reflecting the young French DJ’s exploration of classic techno influences. A reverb heavy trance lead is layered against sharp percussive elements and broken kick patterns for a versatile, dance floor-ready sound.

The second track, “The Dance Of The Misanthropes” by Tsorn, dives into the underground with a hard, repeating synth line and thumping kick driving the record forward. Her early musical influences from black metal are apparent as the Leipzig-based producer crafts this crushing and uncompromising techno release.

“Deine Worte” from Hephaistos follows, contrasting ambient pads and vocal ambiences with energetic drums for a dark yet ethereal soundscape. The track builds and opens up as synths and trance leads come in, adding energy for a pumping and vibrant high.

The final track, “Red”, comes from the Berlin-based American DJ, The Horrorist. While its title seems fit with NovaFuture’s signature red artwork, the track deviates sonically from the rest of the release for an intense and suffocating experience. Noisy industrial sounds, distorted drones, and crushed vocals are all mangled together to create a pulsing wall of hiss, buzz and screams that leaves the listener gasping for a breath.

Carefully curated by the CEO Of NovaFuture, “We Are Flying High” is a thrilling experience that will be released via their own label on the 17th of June 2022.

MSKD, also active as Ghost Effects, is a young French DJ and producer now based in Berlin, who runs his own imprints Diligences Records and MSKDR.

We have been following and supporting his career for a long time and are very happy to welcome him now to NovaFuture Recordings – after previous releases on Jaelos, COUP, Maison Close Records and being featured on Amelie Lens’ Fabric London mix.

His track “Entropy And Versatile” expertly mixes dancefloor-ready broken-up kick patterns with melancholic, detailed atmospheres. A sharp, trance-sounding lead synth, drenched in reverb, pushes the track forward. “Entropy And Versatile” reads as a culmination of MSKD’s previous works, continuing his exploration of classic techno influences.

The track will be released digitally in Mid April and as part of NovaFuture Recordings’ next vinyl sampler “We Are Flying High” due to release in June 2022.

As the last digital release taken from NovaFuture Recordings’ third vinyl sampler “Modern Love”, the label releases the track “Stay Sharp” by Italian producer Sharplines.

Sharplines runs the Death by Overdose label and previously released on RND Records and Ancient Methods’ Persephonic Sirens label. The track “Stay Sharp” mixes noisy industrial sounds, EBM patterns and distorted synths into a peak-time techno tool brimming with energy. It continues NovaFuture Recordings’ slight shift in genre for “Modern Love” that started with Gewalt’s contemporary take on Cold Wave and takes it into a dark and ravy club setting.

“Stay Sharp” will be out digitally on 19th February 2021. As the final release of label’s third cycle, taking cues from Cold Wave, EBM and Techno, stay tuned to find out in what direction our fourth sampler might be going!

After being part of our most recent vinyl release “Modern Love” Evil Dust’s “Fatality” will now also be available digitally. Hailing from London, the young producer, also working under the name Mutual Gaze, quickly developed a unqiue blend of techno, industrial and dark wave influences as showcased on labels such as X-IMG, Autonome Records and Crave Tapes.

His track “Fatality” is a straight forward Industrial Techno cut suitable for peak time hours – or whenever one craves such vibes at home. It combines harsh sounding, looping synths, thudding kicks and layers of noise and distortion into one versatile tool.

After his immaculate last set in Berlin with Crave Tapes founder Tizaresh and Eve Schwarz at Dream Baby Dream, we hope to hear Evil Dust soon again – until then, we are happy to present “Fatality” digitally on 15th January 2021.

On 18th December, NovaFuture Recordings is releasing its third vinyl sampler “Modern Love”. In addition to the previously digitally released “What Can I Do?” by Gewalt and “Savi Host” by Matias Aldana, the sampler will include new tracks by Evil Dust and Sharplines. “Modern Love” presents a synthesis of Cold Wave, EBM and Techno, introducing key musical influences of the blog to the label’s catalogue.

Gewalt’s “What Can I do?” is not only the first cold-wave track on NovaFuture Recordings, but also the first vocal track, featuring the Parisian artists melancholic lyrics.

Matis Aldana’s trance-techno-electro crossover “Savi Host” presents another novum for NovaFuture Recordings, as the Colombian producer is the only artist on the label who has not been featured on the blog before.

Evil Dust, also working under the alias Mutual Gaze, previously released via Crave Tapes, X-IMG, Autonome Records, Dead by Overdose and others. The young London producers track “Fatality” is peaktime ready industrial techno that still manages to keep a groove going, upping the energy on the B side of “Modern Love”.

Sharplines’ “Stay Sharp” closes the sampler, mixing distorted industrial aesthetics and EBM patterns into a peak-time techno tool brimming with energy. The Italian producer runs the Dead by Overdose label and has releases on RND. Records and Ancient Methods’ Persephonic Sirens label.
