Press Info (Englisch):
Martin Gore, songwriter and founding member of Depeche Mode, announces the releases of ‘MG’, an evocative 16-track electronic instrumental album out on 27 April 2015 on Mute.
Written and produced by Martin Gore, work began on ‘MG’ following the final dates of Depeche Mode’s ‘Delta Machine’ tour in March 2013 at Gore’s home studio in Santa Barbara. An entire instrumental album had been in his thoughts for some time, particularly since he has been writing instrumentals for Depeche Mode since 1981.
“I wanted to keep the music very electronic, very filmic and give it an almost sci-fi like quality,” Martin explains. “Music is a necessity for me. I go into the studio at least 5 days a week, every week, so once I had the idea and the template, the process was quick and fun.”
‘MG’ is a soundtrack to an emotional and mysterious film of your own design.
From the Angelo Badalmenti – like atmosphere of ‘Elk’ to the industrial electro swagger of ‘Brink’, it landscapes a unique and arresting vision.
After finishing recording ‘MG’, Martin asked Q to mix it which seemed a perfectly natural choice as he previously mixed VCMG, Martin Gore and Vince Clarke’s 2012 album, ‘SSSS’.
Explaining the decision to release the album under the acronym, MG, Gore says, “As the album is very electronic and has no vocals, I felt it deserved another persona so decided to carry on the MG concept from the VCMG album.”
‘MG’ showcases another side to this multi-talented musician. “As a songwriter, I am aware of the power of words,” Martin admits. “Especially when they are juxtaposed in the right way with chords and melody. I am also aware of the power of pure music and the emotions that can be created by musical atmospheres and that is what I wanted to capture with this project.”
“I wanted to keep the music very electronic, very filmic and give it an almost sci-fi like quality,” erklärt Gore. “Music is a necessity for me. I go into the studio at least 5 days a week, every week, so once I had the idea and the template, the process was quick and fun.”
As the album is very electronic and has no vocals, I felt it deserved another persona so decided to carry on the MG concept from the VCMG album.”
So kurz das Akronym MG auch zu sein scheint, so breit ist das Abgebot, das uns Musik-Multitalent Martin Gore hier präsentiert. “As a songwriter, I am aware of the power of words. Especially when they are juxtaposed in the right way with chords and melody. I am also aware of the power of pure music and the emotions that can be created by musical atmospheres and that is what I wanted to capture with this project.”

Press Info:
Marcel Dettmann announces the release of MDR Compilation, a collection of unreleased music from his label, Marcel Dettmann Records (MDR). The release of the eight-song collection will be accompanied by a eight-city tour featuring Dettmann, along with several of the MDR artists who appear on the compilation.
The release and tour marks the first of its kind for Dettmann, who after more than two decades at the decks and in the studio, now find himself at the forefront of a techno sound that is getting its international due. It also indicated the next phase of his artistic mission as he evolves from successful solo act to assume the mantel of mentor and advocate for a new community of likeminded artists whom he has befriended along his journey.
Some of these musical colleagues, like teenage friend Norman Nodge, and Answer Code Request from Marcel’s days running his own record store, have accompanied Dettmann throughout his entire career. Others are connections made over years of DJing around the globe, including Anthony Parasole, who allied with Marcel at New York’s famed Bunker parties, and FBK, who met Marcel at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. And then there are the newer names on the MDR roster — Kobosil (who at 23 is also the youngest), Lockertmatik and Milton Bradley, the latter of whom makes his MDR debuts on this compilation.
What all of these producers have in common is not just a techno sound that challenges the genre’s norms, but an artistic affinity and genuine friendship with the man whose initials appear on the record sleeve. MDR Compilation will be release through iTunes and all major digital retailers. A limited edition double-pack vinyl will also be available at Hard Wax and other select record stores, worldwide. The vinyl comes with a download code for a new mix by Kobosil of the MDR catalog. The mix can also be downloaded for free directly from the MDR website (registration required).
