Quicker Than The Fast Of Light

02.
OYeah

Press Info:
Original techno, breaks and old school master Force Mass Motion is back with an arresting new EP on his own self-titled and increasingly vital label.

The man born Mike Wells has been making big room club music since 1991. Since then he’s put out a wealth of huge selling tracks including the largest of them all, ‘Panic.’ A go-to remixer of everyone from Moby to Adam F he has collaborated with a long list of names and had music licensed to the US TV and film. Still a real creative force in the studio, he now serves up his latest club ready bombs.

First up is the scintillatingly, breakbeat drive ‘Quicker Than The Fast Of Light’, which is wired up with all manner of stepping chords and arpeggiated synths. It’s a big metallic track that is built on twisting, turning, crashing drums and is perfectly designed for maximum effect in strobe lit clubs.

Second offering ‘OYeah’ explores a totally different mood: it’s surging late night techno with neon synths, rippling acid and high speed grooves all taking you into the future. Cowbells, vocal samples and sweeping filters all add detail that makes this one jump out of the speakers to fill the club with sound.

These are two devastating cuts from a real master of his art.

out now: Nicolas Bougaïeff & Marcus C. Maichel – Projections [Denkfabrik]

Artist:
Nicolas Bougaïeff & Marcus C. Maichel

Title:
Projections

Label:
Denkfabrik

Cat#:
DENKFAB005

Release Date:
30th May 2019

Format:
digital

Tracklist:
01.
Orthogonal

02.
Oblique

03.
Parallel

Press Info:
Nicolas Bougaïeff and Marcus C. Maichel deliver Projections, a three track techno collaboration EP on Denkfabrik.

Projections brings together crystalline production aesthetics and unusually slow BPMs. The titles allude to impossible geometries as a metaphor for impossible relations, an imaginary world where parallels meet and orthogonal planes of reality interact.

Opening track ‘Orthogonal’ contrasts carefully distorted bass and breakdowns where processed orchestral brass outline tense yet otherworldly harmonies. Precisely phasing synth loops create an evolving hypnotic structure in ‘Oblique’, while ‘Parallel’ showcases a gentle thunder of filtered orchestra samples emerging from subterranean grooves.

Marcus C. Maichel is a Hamburg based producer who has been a central figure of the global trance scene since the mid-90s. His projects X-Dream and The Delta, the latter often in collaboration with Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe of Extrawelt, are notable for pioneering a surgically precise, atmospheric and oft-imitated tech-trance sound.

Nicolas Bougaïeff is a Canadian producer based in Berlin. His Cognitive Resonance 12″ marked the relaunch of legendary British label NovaMute. Bougaïeff completed a PhD on minimal techno. Recent projects include an audio-visual collaboration with Itaru Yasuda performed live at Fabric London.

Press Info:
Future is Human
100 times Snork. 100 times yellow & black. 100 times genuine underground techno. Who else could honor this anniversary release better than label owner Christian Schachta aka Syntax Error himself. For more than 20 years, he has committed his music career to the underground scene. As he has seen many others come and go, he himself remained a constant member of underground techno. And his sound has always been one that you would recognize in the middle of hundreds.

In 2019, while others are busily discussing whether future is female, male, diverse, vegan, nonplastic or cosmopolite – Syntax Error’s answer comes loud and clear: Future is Human. The name of his new release and live set is a statement against the omnipresent hype – pleading for less talk and more drive. It is a call to let go from time to time and let techno do its job, which is in fact to create a neutral space where politics, gender, religion and other stigmatism need no signs – whether to forbid nor to unite them. They are simply as they are and you can talk about it or not. And you don’t have to be perfect, politically correct or cool. Drink your vodka redbull or your green smoothie. A lot or a little. Just do it and let go. Because future is human. Future is loud. Future is many things. And whatever else it is, one thing is safe, future will come – already tomorrow.

Having premiered in classic underground locations, this live set has proven more than clubcompatible and the new tracks made of tight bass-lines, tricky sound arrangements and a powerful attitude are ready to enter the whole scene.

As a special anniversary gift to himself, he has asked one of his most liked fellow artists to contribute a bursting remix to this release. And Oliver Chesler aka The Horrorist was happy to do that in his very own merciless style.

Syntax Error
Exactly this world of the deep and groovy techno music is the well-known territory of Syntax Error. Having started as techno DJ in the late 90ies, he soon found his very special sound favoring deep wobbly bass-lines, harsh snares, FM tones and drones, deep bass drums and tricky percussion. Like a syntax error, he breaks with commonplace regularities and creates a wholly new sound experience that is highly recognized within the techno scene.

Up to 2019, he has produced over 20 different 12” releases on the labels Snork Enterprises, Feinwerk, Relax2000 and UNDERtheGROUND Records. Each of his releases is an authentic, passionate creation of sound always mirroring some experience from his personal life – whether it’s from his adventures as scuba diving tycoon, as sonar operator or as DJ and producer enthusiastically roaming the techno club scene in Germany and abroad. In 2018, he finally realized his dream and went on his first Japan tour performing amongst others in the well-known Contact Club in Tokyo and live on air on the famous Japanese media platform Dommune.

Snork Enterprises
It’s a distinct sound diving deep down into the spheres of genuine underground techno where bass-lines surround your mind and the fascination of a gloomy yet groovy world of sounds inevitably enters your head.

Founded in 2004 by techno DJ and producer Christian Schachta, known as Syntax Error, Snork Enterprises is a base for modern underground electronic techno music. It’s not at all about being pretentious or arty for the sake of it. It’s about real depth on the dance floor. Short and sweet: very snorky! It’s a journey with friends such as Cristian Vogel, Phil Kieran, Jens Zimmerman, Daze Maxim, DJ W!ld and other big names from the techno scene having dedicated themselves to an uncompromising, stunning beat to go even further on a trip to the instantly exceptional, experimental sounds, ranging back to various roots of electronic underground.

Press Info:
New UX signing ‘Ekors’ are so fucking good they provided me with this bio for the press release, which saves you from hearing my shit jokes.

“On a cold winter night in the depth of the Broceliande forest, three french woodcutters/techno producers, completely high on calvados, made a simple statement that will become their manifesto; the french scene needs more grit, more darkness, more stress and more fucking chainsaw ! To make it short, we all need a good punch in the face! A few studio sessions later, the new project was started, on a base of hard wood kicks, acid maple soundscapes and chopped’n hacked leads. Wheels are turning, the whole forest is in fear, the sound and fury has started, EKORS is coming for you”

nb ** please don’t punch them in the face if you see them play.
