On 27.02.2023 Ones. and Rasval will release the “Nebelgelb” EP, the first release on their freshly founded Vinyl Only label TMN TRAX, a 4 track EP with 2 original mixes and with one remix each by Sleeparchive and .VRIL. The label will be distributed by Hard Wax.

The final decision to press the EP and found the label was made during the pandemic. Detached from the club context and musical trends as well as from everyday creative pressure combined with an extreme reduction of external influences, Ones. and Rasval took the time to experiment in their shared studio. During this phase, the first track layouts were created, which formed the musically characteristic basis of TMN TRAX. The EP’s name-giving track, “Nebelgelb”, was also the first finalised production for the label. “Tau” followed shortly after. Both tracks are characterised by the complete absence of percussion in a classical sense. The rhythm and groove unfold mainly through noise textures. While “Tau” is a forcing four-to-the-floor, drone / big room techno track, “Nebelgelb” breaks the dance floor orientation in a shifted and experimental way, but keeps the basic technoid mood.

The “Vintage Tool Remix” by .VRIL of the track “Tau” dissolves its original narrative character and delivers the classic dramatic .VRIL sound, which gets a unique sound character by the usage of an old KM-60 Boss mixer. Sleeparchive’s remix of “Nebelgelb” picks up on the absence of percussion, but interprets the track in a much punchier way, evoking memories of some sound explorations from Sleeparchive’s earlier releases.

The EP was mastered by Conor Dalton (Glowcast Audio). The illustration for the art work was done by Katja Hoffmann.

The next release is expected to be the first album on TMN TRAX. Musically, it will pick up the feeling of the first release. However, Ones. and Rasval do not want to limit the label’s musical spectrum, as TMN TRAX is meant to provide a space for the musical development of the two artists.

Furthermore, they are currently finalising the concept of their sub-label, which will create a platform for more dancefloor-oriented tracks and open up more space for outside influences.
