Press Info:
Iptamenos Discos is back with another collaborative EP by label heads Local Suicide, who have once again teamed up with Skelesys to provide their stunning ‘In Space We Roam’ EP. The four-track EP includes two original tracks and two remixes by Psycho Weazel and Neu-Romancer. It will be available on limited 12” vinyl, all streaming & download platforms and is set to release on August 4th, 2023.

This scorching new offering follows the trio’s highly acclaimed sensation ‘Moustache’, which amassed an impressive quarter-million streams on Spotify alone and garnered support from renowned artists like Erol Alkan, Joyce Muniz and Curses among others. Far from slowing down, the trio also released EPs together on Snap, Crackle & Pop, Samo Records and on compilations by Eskimo Recordings, Ombra INTL, Logical Records and Sum Over Histories.

DJ/Producer duo & couple, and Iptamenos Discos label founders Brax Moody and Vamparela, make up Local Suicide. They are known for coining the term ‘Technodisco’, which describes their influential and distinctive sound that combines elements of New Wave, EBM, Disco, and Techno. Joining them once again in this project is their long-time friend and collaborator, Skelesys, a Berlin-based Argentinian producer, DJ, and live act. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of influences, including hard rock, sci-fi and horror, his works straddle the line between post-punk, wave and future influences, resulting in a trademark genre-blending and unmistakable sound.

The first tune and title track ‘In Space We Roam’, focuses on a dark rolling baseline and soft mystical vocals that suggest “the future is now”. Accompanied with punchy drums, floaty synths, and glitchy spaceship like sounds, this tune is sure to take you in to a space of your own. The intricate combination of layers evokes images of a galactic journey towards an uncertain fate. Rising from the ether, a delicate melody intertwines around sorrowful sirens to bring a glimmer of hope to the track. This tune aims to make the listener feel that we are all part of a journey together. Forever adapting and changing in ourselves, we are also sure to feel a collective sense of growth and discovery. No one is alone in the moments that we roam.

The second track, ‘Surface of the Sun’ is a hot one. Pun…intended. Diverging from the softer and mystical vocals of the title song, this tune moves us towards the dark side. A forceful, mysterious and punchy baseline is accompanied by a deep vocal, grooving synths and lush pads to make you feel, well, hot. This is the kind of tune that you want to hear when everyone is feeling collectively sweaty and sexy. Like the sun melts all that enters too close, this tune is sure to melt you too. Hailing from Switzerland, the rising duo Psycho Weazel provide a darkly beautiful remix of the ‘In Space We Roam’, showcasing the intricate style that earned them collaborations with labels and venues worldwide. Defying expectations with an almost summery vibe just in time for festival season, their version alternates between an almost overwhelming tension and a strangely evocative melody for an intoxicating effect.

Neu-Romancer is a musician, producer, and DJ originally from Fremantle in Western Australia and now based in Berlin. Despite her tight schedule as the bassist on Zanias’ live-tour, the ever-busy artist delivers a joyful remix of ‘Surface Of The Sun’, that increases the tempo and adds upbeat and blissful synths, gritty drums, melodic plucks and musing pads with faded echoes and ethereal whispers intermingle above the haunting growl, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.

With a wide variety of emotions and sonic landscapes, the ‘In Space We Roam’ EP is another invigorating addition to the Iptamenos Discos catalogue. The full EP will be released August 4th, 2023 on 12” vinyl and digital.

Press Info:
Tel Aviv-based artist Yotam Russo (formerly known as Lott) signs to Local Suicide’s label Iptamenos Discos and announces his new ‘Twilight Zone Disko’ EP which will be out May 26th, 2023 on limited clear vinyl & digital.

The 3-tracker is the Israelis most mature release to date and perfectly showcases his unique approach to modern electronic dance music. Being known for his fusion of heavy drum machines with psychedelic guitars, acid melody-hooks and catchy vocals he creates a rich spectrum of sound that takes listeners on a journey through a range of emotions and genres.Over time, he has cultivated a distinct style characterized by by an optimistic and upbeat vibe that is both nostalgic and contemporary. In this EP he expands his creative expression by adding meaningful text that resonates with his audience, making his music a powerful vehicle for storytelling. Whether this be via performing live or in the studio, Russo innovatively blends genres from Indie Dance, Synthpop, Dark Disco to House & Acid often referring to bands like LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax or The Faint.

The EP’s title track & first single ‘Twilight Zone Disko’ is a punk approach to disco, with distorted vocals, and hypnotic synths, it aims to make the listener feel like they’re never alone on the dance floor. The track’s gradual ascent is driven by a combination of the drum machine’s rhythmic beats and the alluring lyrics, resulting in a psychedelic sound. The ‘second single ‘From The Speaker To The Right’ alludes to the desire of a young generation to dance and detach from the world outside of the club. The track’s progression is dictated by the drum machine, which interweaves, and is layered alongside, with evocative synthetic sounds and jarring sound effects like sirens, creating a moody and captivating journey. The closer ‘Take Some Time’ is a homage to the desire to create, and the risks that come with following your passion. By incorporating prominent psychedelic guitar riffs, the track exudes a punk rock energy that merges seamlessly with the funky beat. This blend of genres results in a novel and dynamic sound that’s both edgy and catchy.

This EP is set to release via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023 with three original tracks and two radio edits on a strictly limited clear Dubplate 12” and made available digitally via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023.

Press Info:
When Greco-German couple Local Suicide and New York City native Curses met in Berlin, the epicenter of electronic music, their artistic chemistry was immediately obvious. This chance meeting resulted in several fructuous collaborations, with the latest being ‘Magia’, a dark and mysterious four-track EP. This release represents the perfect opportunity for the artists to take the genre-bending blend of 80’s new wave, dark disco and ghostly vocals that have earned their previous collaborations unanimous praise to a whole new level.

The EP comes after an impressively prolific year for the ever-busy Local Suicide powerhouse, following the release of their globally acclaimed debut album ‘Eros Anikate’ with collaborations with The Hidden Cameras, Lena Platonos, Theus Mago and Curses himself, as well as four remixes EPs featuring remixes by household names such as Adana Twins, Silicone Soul, Echonomist, Biesmans, Die Selektion and many more on top of a hectic touring schedule.

The multi-talented artist and head of the Ombra International label Curses also recently released his darkly romantic second album ‘Incarnadine’ with features from Jennifer Touch and Terr, following an acclaimed first album on Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno imprint. For this collaboration, he lends his distinctive sound signature that incorporates punk, Italo Disco, and EBM influences for a somber and nostalgic sound.

The EP’s title track ‘Magia’, immediately puts the listener under its spell with its dystopian atmosphere, as cold and distant voices echo eerily behind the relentless beat and unsettling looping synths, before layering up into an intense but also strangely hopeful soundscape.

The beautifully complex and moody ‘It All Sounds The Same’ then follows with its ethereal and ghostly vocals bleeding through the urgent rhythm. The alliteration of the lyrics contributes to creating an otherworldly, almost uneasy feeling echoed by the lonely voices lamenting that everything ‘sounds the same’.

The third track ‘Secret Friends’ opens up with cascading acid notes soon overtaken by the same driving beat as pulsing synths overlap each other in a frenzy while the vocals call out for a ‘secret friend’ with the seductive appeal of a mysterious, almost supernatural being.

Far from alleviating the tension that has been building up throughout the EP, the closing track, ‘Walk With Me’, feels like a frenzied and Lynchian musical descent into madness, as insistent notes become more and more distorted until they’re swallowed by the bassline and electric notes while barely human voices whisper menacingly, gasping and crossing overhead.

In true Local Suicide and Curses fashion, this EP feels like a masterfully crafted plunge into an unfamiliar world that will leave you wanting more. Tune in for the release on February 24th, 2022 via Local Suicide’s own label Iptamenos Discos.

Press Info:
Local Suicide return with the third of four remix EPs for their debut album, ‘Eros Anikate’, this time named after the ancient Greek god Apollo.

The Greco-German DJ and Producer couple are known for their wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco and have been driving live audiences into a frenzy across the globe with captivating performances and live sets. Their propulsive grooves have earned them the title of key figures in the up-rising dark disco scene, as well as overwhelming support from the music press worldwide for their releases to date. Their debut ‘Eros Anikate’ comes after 13 EP releases and is the next step on their journey to a worldwide cobra wave and techno-disco takeover. The album includes selected vocal features and collaborations from Lena Platonos, Curses, Theus Mago, Kalipo, Sissi Rada and more, and received immense support from the likes of Mixmag, Spiegel, Tsugi, Faze, Inverted Audio, Sonic Seducer, Starwax, Side Line, Ransom Note, Groove, The Sun, Kaput Mag, Electronic Groove, Deutschlandradio Kultur, Lifo, Spotify and Apple Music.

‘Eros Anikate – Apollo Remixes’ is a 4-track EP featuring a remix for ‘Whispering w/ Curses’, ‘Moustache
w/ Skelesys’, ‘Like Follow Subscribe feat. Hard Ton’, and ‘PHD In Apology’. The EP will be released digitally and as a limited and numbered clear 12” vinyl via their Iptamenos Discos imprint on November 18th, 2022.

The EP opens with a remix of ‘Whispering’ by the legendary, Berlin-based duo, Adana Twins. Since their first big break in 2012, the duo have established a sterling reputation, constantly refining their sound, pushing the boundaries of their musical ambition and evolving organically over time. They are driven by a deepseated desire to transmit emotion through electronic music, merging Benjamin’s love of hip-hop and Friso’s passion for club music to produce a series of highly-regarded releases that form the foundation of their global success. As they’ve grown, the duo have channelled their love for electronic music into their platform, TAU, providing a creative space to expand their sound while also discovering and nurturing new artists, including Local Suicide, who previously released on the label a few years ago. Their remix of ‘Whispering’ strips back the synths and guitars, placing the bass at the forefront to drive the track while Curses’ dark, 80s-inspired vocals dance among Dina’s echoing whispers. Local Suicide collaborated with New York born and raised artist Curses to reminisce on the wilder and sexier times of the ‘Spaghetti style’ wild west films they watched in their youth, literally putting the ‘wild’ into the ‘wild west’.

The remix of ‘Moustache’ comes from Andre VII, a close friend of the duo from Mexico City who they met while touring there. For the original track, Local Suicide teamed up with Skelesys, a Berlin-based, cuttingedge artist with a strong musical background in hard rock, post-punk, synth-pop, science fiction and horror movies. He is known for his haunting, stripped-down futuristic vibe. Andre VII’s fantastic rework builds over a looped vocal phrase and rising effect drones before breaking with a funky, vibrant synth lead. Andre VII is an active member of the Mexican electronic music scene as a DJ and producer, founder of his electronic label, Platino Records, label manager of Sicario Music, and partner and booker for nightclubs such as Bar Oriente and Xaman in Mexico City. The music released under his Andre VII moniker aims to motivate from a fresh perspective and challenge the listener to evoke a good party atmosphere.

Passific Assalt Sissem (PAS) is the new and mysterious artist project from a Canadian-born producer legend living and cooking up raw, channelling techno from their lab in Oaxaca, West Coast, Mexico. PAS presents an energetic remix for ‘Like Follow Subscribe’ with pulsing synth chords and a rising vocal effect that pull you in while punchy drums and groovy percussion keep the rhythm going. The rework cuts down on the 80s-style vocals from the Italian queer disco duo, Hard Ton, opting to loop the digitalised lead vocal, “like, follow, subscribe”. The sarcastic and cynical vocals allude to the sinister and insidious nature of social media which dictates many aspects of our lives, and enslaves us.

The final remix comes from Alejandro Molinari for ‘PHD In Apology’, which is much darker and muted than the original. Drawing inspiration from a range of styles such as post-punk, dark-wave and the origins of techno, Alejandro fuses his soundscapes with unique electro-magnetic frequencies while his interest in occultism and supernatural archaeology underpins his vast musical and cultural foundation. The result is a mesmerising, cosmic experience. His remix of ‘PHD In Apology’ sheds the lead synth melodies, playing instead with the textures and movement for a dark and dramatic mix.

Press Info:
Local Suicide are back with the second of four remix EPs for their debut album, ‘Eros Anikate’, each named after an ancient Greek god.

The Greco-German DJ and Producer couple, known for their wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco, have been driving live audiences into a frenzy across the globe with captivating performances and live sets. Their propulsive grooves have earned them the title of key figures in the up-rising dark disco scene, as well as overwhelming support from the music press worldwide for their 13 EP releases to date. Their debut LP, ‘Eros Anikate’, is the next step on their journey to a worldwide cobra wave and techno-disco takeover and includes selected vocal features and collaborations from Lena Platonos, Curses, Theus Mago, Kalipo, Sissi Rada and more. The album release was a success globally and received immense support from the likes of Mixmag, Spiegel, Tsugi, Faze, Inverted Audio, Sonic Seducer, Starwax, Side Line, Ransom Note, Groove, The Sun, Kaput Mag, Electronic Groove, Deutschlandradio Kultur, Lifo, Spotify and Apple Music.

‘Eros Anikate – Artemis Remixes’ is a 6-track EP featuring a remix for ‚Moustache’ w/ Skelesys, ‘Jam Bounce Release‘ w/ Theus Mago, two remixes for ‘Like Follow Subscribe‘ feat. Hard Ton, one for ‘Cobra Wave‘ w/ Kalipo and one for ‘Eros Anikate‘ feat. Lena Platonos. The EP will be released on digital and vinyl via their Iptamenos Discos imprint on October 21st, 2022.

The EP opens with a remix of ‘Moustache’ with Argentinian Skelesys from the French duo You Man. The pair follow an open-minded approach to their music, incorporating everything from dark disco to muscular EBM, euphoric trance to Konnakol, a percussive vocal effect used in Southern Indian Carnatic music, and even Di Falco’s background as a trained psychologist and hypnotherapist. The result is a mesmerising and animated experience primed to open and expand minds on the dance floor. Their remix of ‘Moustache w/ Skelesys’ is a brooding and seductive rework with stuttered chords and echo plucks modulated with a slow-rising phaser over a plucky bass and groovy drum breaks.

Silicone Soul presents a remix for ‘Jam Bounce Release‘ with Mexican Theus Mago that strips back the track’s percussion in place of airy hats and a dark bass for a deep and driving mix. Since their inception as teenagers in 1998, the legendary Scottish duo have been driven and inspired by an unquenchable thirst for the perfect sweet spot between organic and electronic, synthetic and authentic, a dichotomy that has led to their dynamic and kaleidoscopic electronic sound. Their influential independent label Darkroom Dub has also become a signature for authentic and original underground house music by maintaining Glasgow’s label tradition of not compromising and encouraging honest records. Supporting early and breakthrough cuts to innovators of all generations, they have amassed a rich catalogue of unique and inspiring electronic music that has breadth, soul and a subtle sense of cosmic consistency.

The two remixes for ‘Like Follow Subscribe’ feat. Italian duo Hard Ton come from Biesmans, who offers an original mix and an instrumental version. Born and raised in Belgium, Biesmans moved to Berlin in 2013, where he started working as a sound technician in the iconic Watergate club while honing his studio craft amongst his beloved synthesisers. After quitting his technician job to focus on producing music, he earned a place in the W-agency roster, followed by an impressive debut EP on the Watergate label, among others, and a series of unique POV sessions showcasing his live skills and hardware-heavy setup that gained him plenty of attention on social media. His remix for ‘Like Follow Subscribe’ brings in strong disco influences for a pulsing and upbeat remix that highlights his mastery of the synthesiser.

AFFKT’s reinterpretation of ‘Cobra Wave‘ with Bavarian producer Kalipo is a complex, gritty and aggressive remix with driving basslines, tribal rhythms and modulated laser effects. Hailing from the Spanish mainland, Marc Martinez Nadal, aka AFFKT, has been developing his colourful and empowering sound since 2008 through experimentation, his experiences with sound, place, person and culture, and his drive for perfection. He serves electronica crossover masterpieces that delve into the many sub-genres of house music as well as heart-stopping, engaging techno, earning him the reputation of the ‘Son of a thousand sounds’. He remains committed to a life of synthesis to set himself apart from the comparatively shallow glance of dance music, and it is with this same mindset that he approaches his own Sincopat.

The final remix for the EP is from Boys’ Shorts for ‘Eros Anikate’ feat. Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos. The Greek DJ and producer duo had been friends for over a decade and spent endless hours on the decks together DJing around Greece and Europe before deciding to form their project and share their love for electronic music. Their music is a blend of everything they mix in their DJ sets, from disco to breaks, slow techno to acid, with the sole aim of making people dance. Having previously released their hit ‘New Era’ EP via the Iptamenos Discos imprint, the duo return for their remix of ‘Eros Anikate feat. Lena Platonos’, speeding up the track and adding driving synth sequences and groovy rhythms for a fun and vibrant remix.
