After debuting on BPitch’s We Are Not Alone compilation, Frenchman Crystal Geometry arrives with his first full EP for the label. Showcasing his diversity across four distinct cuts, this is Crystal Geometry in playful and experimental mode, utilising his modular synth skills to bring us a powerful selection of tracks.

‘Everlasting Ghost of an Acid Trip’ is a self-explanatory cut that dives deep into themes around death and LSD. With lyrics inspired by the early Norwegian black metal scene, he goes all out with the 303 line and hardcore-inspired beats. ‘Alien Abduction’ was made especially for BPitch, the modular synth taking centre stage as 80s percussion and washed out vocals do the work.

‘Drink My Blood’ is one for the hardcore goths, allowing Crystal Geometry to express the depths of his dark soul. The lyrics say it all, “Drink, drink my blood! It’s dark, like my soul. Feed! Feed on me, don’t waste a drop of that gold”. Finally, ‘The Promised Land’ addresses the dire situation in the Middle East, redefining the so-called Holy Land. The melancholy atmosphere is potent, reinforced by sombre choir vocals and the trusty 303.

As the impact of Goldener Strom, Rosa Anschütz’s debut LP for BPitch, continues to be felt far and wide, we bring you the second instalment from the remixes package. This two-track release contains compelling reinterpretations from Aasthma and Umfang. Both artists are renowned for their maverick take on electronic music, and their reworks pay homage to the original works in unique style.

Aasthma takes a considered approach with his remix of ‘Sold Out’, composing a downtempo cut that honours the original vocal with a highly emotive instrumental. Sombre drones drive the low end, while a solitary string amplifies the emotional power of this stirring rework.

On the flip, Umfang channels her distinct sound into a spacious and tempered revision of ‘Polished’. Rosa’s vocals rever- berate through this stripped back cut. Subdued drums and bass give the vocals plenty of breathing space on a carefully poised composition that complements Aasthma’s rework.

Ellen sprinkles a little Allien magic on ‘Their Blood’. Piston-driven beats pulsate alongside a stirring backdrop of gnarly synth work and Rosa’s unmistakable voice.

Midway through, she incorporates a huge, melodramatic breakdown that sets the tone for the second half of this thrilling interpretation. In the past year, the prototype version of ‘’Their Blood’’ became an absolute festival staple among Ellen’s selection and a secret sensation for crowds all over the globe. In its final form, it is to be finally unleashed upon all.

Métaraph takes charge of the second remix, putting their unique spin on ‘Intuitive’. Potent drums slam down, while Rosa’s vocals and a cacophony of bright sounds and effects counteract to the powerful percussive arrangement and grizzly low end.

Ellen Allien and the We Are Not Alone collective are back with a second edition of the We Are Not Alone series. A 36-track compilation split into 3 parts, each consisting of 12 cuts, dedicated to the infamous We Are Not Alone event series and the best of Berlin’s underground techno talent.

Ellen Allien’s innovative party series We Are Not Alone was launched in 2016 and remains committed to inviting an exciting crew of artists to perform at the 36 hour events, now in a new home at RSO.BERLIN, where they returned with bang over 36 hours and 3 floors in May.

The We Are Not Alone compilation features artists that have played at the parties, as well as those who will join the line-up for future events. The 4th, 5th and 6th parts include music by Ellen and established names such as Thomas P. Heckmann, Dollkraut & DJ Europarking, Francois X, Phase Fatale and Etapp Kyle. Rising stars Nene H, Nur Jaber, Stephanie Sykes, Wallis and Métaraph. BPitch signings include Rosa Anschütz, Shaleen, Matasism and Uncrat.

For this instalment of the series, Ellen Allien collaborates with esteemed director and photographer Stini Roehrs for the multidisciplinary project ‘’AFTER DARK – Emotional States of Techno’’, consisting of a virtual rave film, book and exhibition produced by AKKURAT Studios, and the We Are Not Alone VA, which is to be released physically and digitally via BPitch.

The next We Are Not Alone parties take place at RSO, Berlin in July, August and October of this year. 22nd July, CSD weekend, is set to be a single night event on two floors. 20th August a We Are Not Alone floor during the RSO Club Festival and then we’ll be back for over 30 hours on 15th & 16th October.
