Press Info:
Marco Bruno brings his flair to the ‘made of CONCRETE’ imprint with a four piece offering, including two techno tracks and an ambiental slice, while label chiefs Rebar are up for the remix.

The title track ‘Hidden Truth’ channels around a low sunken groove, with minimal yet powerful, attention-grabbing elements. The buzzing lead synth pairs aptly with a toned down percussion, while a glistened out whistle loop becomes the main centerpiece and earworm that’s unmistakable.

‘Rebirth’ takes us on a different path of whirlwinding, dark techno. With a catchy bassline and sinuous lead, it captivates from the first bar and holds a tight grip, accented with serene jingles.

‘Anima’ brings up a soothing electronica exploration, an apt intro to the Techno storm to follow with airy pads and glitchy chimes. Rebar take on ‘Anima’ with their Spaceavocado mix, shifting the groove into a revamped, early dancefloor-ready track.

Press Info:
KR/LF also known as Kill Ref Low Frequencies, is a label platform created by the Italian artist Kill Ref. With a mission to break new ground and share a love for a variety of sounds, since its inception in 2016 it has featured artist contributions from Oliver Rosemann, Endlec, Binny, Developer, Charlton, Coefficient, and Gotshell for example.

“Saturn Phases” is a 24 track compilation that has been split into 3 equal parts, each containing 8 tracks. Each part will be available on dubplate LP vinyl and also on Bandcamp, along with a limited edition mix CD version recorded by Kill Ref, the label boss himself.

This is only the fourth catalogue release for KR/LF, and the hugely ambitious project also comes with the backing from many talented artists. Oliver Deutschmann, Under Black Helmet, Ben Gibson, Patrik Skoog, Housemeister, Dez Williams, In Bad Hands (premiere of Mental Resonance new moniker), The Noisemaker, and Progression (UK) all appear on the tracklist, amongst many returning producers previously featured.

Variation is the key here, where the music incorporated ranges from techno to electro and everything in between. Tough, raw, gritty, analogue sounds with a modular feel, acid influence, aggression, and artistic precision across the board.

A masterful package that is set to not only make an impact, but become a seminal release of inspiration, showcasing what is achievable with a stern self belief and harnessing the moment.

this feature is about the third vinyl of three. Part 1 & 2 are already featured (see “Related Releases”)

Press Info:
EPM’s co-founder and one half of the Detroit Grand Pubahs, Oliver Way delivers his debut solo album ‘From the Shadows’.

Having spent the best part of a quarter century promoting and pushing other artists, ‘From The Shadows’ draws from a lifetime spent behind the scenes in contemporary electronic music. “I wanted this album to cover the different styles of electronic music that I have been into over the last 25 years taking in dub/reggae, breakbeats, electro, ghetto tech, house and of course techno. Using the Pubahs ethos of an album being an opportunity to experiment and take the listener on a bit of a journey, in this case a musical timeline of my life.”

That timeline is further supported and expanded by the artists who feature in both it’s making and the various remixers involved in its featured singles. All have long-standing personal connections to Oliver that, ultimately, go back to the very beginning of his teenage rave years. “I have been lucky enough to collaborate with other producers I have worked with for a long time. Helping me achieve this timeline are people like DJ Nasty aka Detroit’s Filthiest on a Ghetto Tech track, who else could be better than one of the kings of this sound! Freddy Fresh aka the ‘Modulator’ who is an authority on early electro and breaks, Ben Long one of the best Techno producers out there; and of course, alongside BulletDodge Records owner Gareth Whitehead, my first solo album wouldn’t be complete without collaborating with Detroit Grand Pubahs cohort and founder, Paris the Black FU.”

Oliver has been a recognised figure in the Techno scene for some time. As a DJ since 1991 and subsequently releasing under his own name in 1998 on Urban Substance Records before joining the Electro / Techno / Funk outfit Detroit Grand Pubahs in 2002. Taking up the pseudonym (The Mysterious) Mr O he produced alongside Paris the Black FU for their own label Detelefunk label. More recently he has collaborated with Ben Long (Space DJz) on numerous releases and provided remixes for labels like Torque, Engineroom, Beard Man and BulletDodge Records.

His debut solo album ‘From The Shadows’ shapes into life with the downtempo breaks of ‘Dust Storm’ that also pairs the husband and wife team of Jasmin and Liam Nolan on vox and sitar before the tougher techno roll of ‘Davies Gene’ pushes up the tempo with able assistance from Paris the Black FU and Bulletdodge’s Gareth Whitehead. Next up is this Winter’s lead single ‘Music Is So Special’ which samples New York Citi Peech Boys’ early ‘80s Disco record ‘Life Is Something Special’, slicing up the vocals and adding some heavy duty drums for maximum effect on present day dance floors.

‘Calling Danny Boy’ has all the grit and guile you would expect from a collaboration with Ben Long, whilst ‘Number Three’ is a pure electro throwdown as Oliver goes ‘shell’ toe to ‘shell’ toe with Freddy Fresh. ‘Stained Glass Shadows’ shifts gears yet again as Oliver morphs into planet funk with the able assistance of Mitch Marcus, Paul ‘Feathericci’ and his dad, Robert Way on bass.

Taking us back to his East London rave days we find the explosive breakbeat riddim riding ‘Bad Bwoy Tune’ before the breakneck paced and chopped up beats of ‘Working Girl’ take us deep into Ghetto Tech territory as Oliver teams up with long time buddy, Detroit’s Filthiest AKA DJ Nasty. ‘Thorpe Road’ is a cockney knees-up straight from the East London old skool. Part rude boy skank, part dub madness and part tongue in cheek, we find EJ Enebeli bouncing off Domgue’s sax before the tough, grinding, dark techno beats of second single ‘Lucky Dip’ leave us hot with the ‘engine’ still running.

The album is preceded on 30 March by the ‘Lucky Dip Remixes’ featuring Scan X, Ben Long, Ben Sims and Barrow Boy.

Where I Wait
(Kasper Bjørke Instrumental Rework)

Press Info:
Following on from the first tranche of remixes of Null + Void’s ‘Where I Wait’, this extra package pulls out yet more big guns.

For Null + Void, the project of Kurt Uenala, the Swiss born producer and multi-instrumentalist who has a long history of working with synth legends, ‘Where I Wait feat. Dave Gahan’ was a straight up highlight of last year’s album ‘Cryosleep’.

Here Null + Void himself takes on one of the reworks, twisting the original into a hard hitting electro bomb. Dave Gahan’s vocals float over the pulsing and punchy blips and bleeps to form a striking partnership.

The other two mixes are by Danish legend Kasper Bjørke, who opts for a more laconic pace – a chugging and playful groove provide the bedrock for the iconic vocals.

Bjørke also supplies an instrumental version to please the DJs, giving space to his exquisite production, right up to the compressed vinyl samples and detuned, fuzzy synths.

Press Info:
For its third release, Rapid Eye Movement conveys various artists to propose another stunning odyssey into the fields of forward-thinking deep and dark techno. Following the industrial acid and rave spirited rocket « Rack rash » launched by Phara & Border One, Memorial Home drives the space shift to trigger with « About Her » our neuronal and emotional crazytivity with a subliminal dogged rhythm driven theme which combines frantic and syncopated beats with highly suggestive atmospheric sound waves. If « Another Wasted Night » by Manent slows down the pace, it is to provide a sublime artistic statement of intense cinematic and contemplative techno moods. This is just to announce the gem provided by Kas:st merging hypnotic layers of UFO-like sounds with an awesome melodic main theme rocking or soothing our souls such as in a Kubrickian travel to the outer space. Closing the journey or rather opening our mind towards infinite and undefined horizons, « Eternal » by VII Circle is another demonstration of these talented producers’ ability to craft highly emotional tunes, this time by merging industrial techno groove with haunting trippy trance synth textures.
