Press Info:
‘made of CONCRETE’ kickstart 2020 with a long-awaited release from Alek S, one year after his latest EP. He’s joined by Sascha Rydell, one of his favourite artists, taking on remix duties.

Deep and dubby, immersive and dance-inducing – these coordinates can always be found in Alek S productions and this release makes no exception. ‘Far Outside’ introduces the deep atmospherics, with its metallic elements and slow burning melody, while ‘Sweatbox’ creates an entrancing mood with its timbered percussion and pulsating lead.

‘Ostkreuz’ stands for the dubby, restrained piece, with tempered percussion and bassline that give a womb-like feeling. Sascha Rydell’s rework of ‘Sweatbox’ rounds up the release in a dynamic manner, with a full-force techno heavy hitter.

02.

03.
Verboten

04.
P#rnceptual
(Brothers Black Remix)

Press Info:
Techno maestro Oliver Deutschmann makes a thundering return with a fresh batch of tracks on ‘made of CONCRETE’ aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Named after some of the most infamous queer/gay/fetish events, the release channels their unique ambiance, which are some of the artist’s favourites.

‘P#rnceptual’ heralds punchy drums atop a relentless bassline, as the producer manages to use a limited amount of elements to create a spellbinding groove that will captivate any crowd.

Bade records founders Brothers Black add their own interpretation of the track, adding cavernous drums and amplifying its late night allure. Named after Berghain’s well known ‘Snax’ party, the eponymous track is a slice of spaced out, wormhole-inducing techno with its spiralling synths and almost imperceptible breaks. Of the four tracks, ‘Verboten’ carries the most understated raw potential with its subdued pads, making it a very effective slow paced burner.

(Rebar’s Other Side Of The Coin Remix)

Press Info:
MOC labelheads Rebar put together a versatile load of tracks into the fifth installment of their Batch Plant series, picking up where the previous volume left off one year back. The selection aptly encompasses the compilation’s main ideology and sees the duo flex their curation muscle as well as their remix abilities.

Behind the curtains of Rebar’s selection we find established dub artist El Choop opening the EP with a slice of spellbinding downtempo in Bangkok Underpass. Next up is Dresdener Anachronism with an ambiental-heavy piece infused with glitchy percussion. This is also the choice cut that Rebar remake into a dancefloor-ready track oozing with strength and dynamism. Modular jam aficionado Olan! is Rebar’s other final pick, adding a relentless, metallic-synth hybrud number to the release.

(MTD Reshape)

Press Info:
Long time label resident Toni Dextor serves up his second EP to date, after his recent end of year debut on “made of Concrete”, while fellow label mate MTD takes on remix duties.

Title track “Fracture” showcases a raw, simple appeal, with its relentless bassline and immense drum loops that take over from the first bar. It’s a straightforward, heavy-hitting slice of techno that takes no prisoners. MTD reshapes the track into a bare-bone, stripped down version with subtle appeal.

“Hardening” stays true to name, centering its melody on concrete-like bass drums, while keeping the same ruthless, high-paced dynamic. Meanwhile, “Temperature” rises up to the challenge with another set of monolithic drums and a zippy, steadfast melody.
