[Mix]: Głós – NovaFuture Blog Mix February 2016

DJ:
Głós

Introduction:
As a Polish-born kid who grew up on Post-punk and spent his youth playing in various bands, who loves clubs and parties but who nevertheless has always been looking for more than what the plain reign of the four-four time has to offer, Głós (speak: ‘Gwos’) is a producer and live-artist who adores to make people dance with his unapologetic and hypnotic Techno. His handcrafted music stands for the pursuit and documentation of adelomorphous moments in diurnal nights, precious snippets that elsewise dissolve back into nothingness.

Hailing from Berlin, Głós’ music is known for connecting ‘yesterday’ and ‘tomorrow’ without leaving ‘today’ aside. Slowly pulsating, his music takes off as if resounding from a distance. It seems as if you’ve already left the club behind while the vibrant rhythms still linger in your mind. It’s the resurrection of a long gone sound whose echo is still alive on the streets, haunting you.

The guy is also partner of Ekserd running the label Ressort Imprint where both release(d) amazing stuff. The latest release of Głós was different – it was the ambient EP “Filling The Scars With Light” on the new born label Intimate Silence (owned by From Another Mind member Silent-One). So here is also a very special mix with ambient sounds containing some unreleased from labels like Ravage White Series & Sleeping Satellites.

[Mix]: Jerome Sydenham – NovaFuture Blog Mix January 2016

DJ:
Jerome Sydenham

Introduction:
Jerome Sydenham – the creative head behind labels like Ibadan Records, Apotek, musician with great tunes like “Timbuktu”, “Sandcastles”, “White Light” etc. – delivered our January 2016 mix.

His DJ sets are nothing short of phenomenal – veering from deep, intricate, chugging techno, to jackin’ tech house, into huge anthemic house moments in the classic vein. Always pursuing his love for techno – both industrial-edged thumpers and deep, soulful Detroit moments, with some melodic beauties along the way.

Jerome Sydenham’s illustrious music career took off in the late eighties when he joined the prestigious A&R division at Atlantic Records where he worked with the likes En Vogue, Das Efx, and breaking the vocal house group Ten City. Soon after he met emerging producer Kerri Chandler – one of his closest friends and a former collaborator, his name as a producer and DJ gradually built over the ’90s, with his superb label Ibadan Records launched in 1995.

Sydenham’s desire to push the creative envelope took him into the world of Techno with the hit “Asama”, with which he launched the German based label Apotek Records. The year 2007 also saw the initiation of a new label collaboration, Avocado Records, established in Denmark with heavy weight producer Rune RK with the monster track “Elephant”.

In 2009 remixes by Sydenham included: “Angel” by Carl Craig (Planet-e), “Forming Dies” by Adam Beyer & Joel Mull (Drumcode), “Way of the Lonely Ones Pt2” by Nihad Tule (Spectrum), and “Materia” by Nic Fanciulli (Global Underground). 2010 has seen Sydenham releases on Drumcode, CLR and soon to come Planet-E.

[Mix]: Ian P. Christ – NovaFuture Blog Mix December 2015

DJ:
Ian P. Christ

Introduction:
Ian P. Christ plays music as a DJ and has promoted hundreds of party- and live events since the early 2000’s. His current resident nights are “Ceremonies” and “Death # Disco”, the latter run together with Philipp Strobel of “Aufnahme + Wiedergabe”. Ian and Phil have not only released four volumes (so far) of the well acclaimed “Death # Disco Compilation”, but also played the main floor of Berghain recently. An evidence of the genre-overlapping popularity of the event series they’ve established in 2010.

Having his roots deep in the veins of Cold Wave, Post Punk and Goth, Ian’s personal taste has developed more and more into the direction of Electronic Body Music, Synthetic Wave and Techno within the past three years. A fact which obviously had an impact on the sound mix provided at his own nights.

[Mix]: Norman Nodge – NovaFuture Blog Mix November 2015

DJ:
Norman Nodge

Introduction:
Norman Nodge, a resident DJ at Berlin’s famous techno temple Berghain since 2005, is a life-long music lover and DJ who promoted of his own parties during the 90s.

Born in East German Leipzig and raised in Brandenburg, Norman started to promote several events and launched his career as a DJ in 1994. At these parties, he got to know his nowadays’ label mates Marcel Fengler and Marcel Dettmann and literally became their mentor for all things techno.

At the end of the 90s he focussed on becoming a lawyer and starting a family but returned to DJing after Marcel Dettmann pitched him to Berghain’s management – so he became resident there instantaneously.

In 2005 he also started to produce his own tracks. His maturity proved to be very beneficial in terms of his artistic vision, as he made up his mind about what he likes and what not a long time ago already. So he released amazing stuff on Dettmann’s MDR label and for sure on Ostgut Ton, the label related to Berghain.

So it is a great pleasure to have his mix here.
