Press Info:
Are you a vinyl junkie? Check this out. I’m excited to announce “Transparent.” Continuing the DIY projects in the lab, we’re currently experimenting with shapes. This is probably one of the weirdest looking records ever made. I also think it’s one of the most beautiful designs we have ever released. It’s a clear transparent 10” vinyl with an off-centre hole, housed in a clear transparent PVC sleeve. All clear, no labels, no print. Just a completely transparent object that looks pretty surreal spinning on a turntable.

One side is a bouncy jam with a drum machine and GRM Tools; the other side is a collage of material recorded from the modular, which had a half-working, half-deceased Wogglebug as a modulation source. Both sides are cut at 45 RPM. The thing I’m most proud of about this record is that the design and packaging were created in collaboration with the design studio of my son, who runs @studiopapi_ the same guy who made the scarves. More collaborations with him to be announced.

Tracklist:

Roy Batty

02.
Brooks Ave

Press Info:
Chris Liebing has announced the thirteen-track ‘Evolver’ LP for release on March 27th, with its first EP, the double-A ‘Roy Batty’ EP, available now. While the ‘Evolver LP’ features collaborations with Charlotte de Witte, Luke Slater, Speedy J, The Advent, The Alte Stuben Modular Ensemble aka Daniel Miller, Terence Fixmer, and Pascal Gabriel. This is Liebing’s first solo Techno LP, having focused on long-form electronica output alongside co-writer Ralf Hildenbeutel for 2018’s ‘Burn Slow’ and 2023’s ‘Another Day’ for Mute Records, and the Andre Walter co-produced ‘Evolution’ in 2002.

Comprising ‘Roy Batty’ and ‘Brooks Ave’, the ‘Roy Batty’ EP sees Liebing set out the stall for the upcoming ‘Evolver’ LP in uncompromising style. The title cut, one of the foundations of the upcoming LP, began with Chris’ musings on how Rutger Hauer’s character in Blade Runner “becoming sentient and asking for the possibility to experience this life longer.” That vision seems more vital than ever in the current age, and cuts right to the core of the sci-fi understandings that have always driven techno. “These moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.” But the energy of the track gives you the flipside of that, reminds you that these moments happened, and matter.

The super direct and linear acid of ‘Brooks Ave’ is named for the spot where Chris stays in LA – a place where the ‘Evolver’ feeling was really strong: it just emerged from trusting the process, letting the universe do its work – finished off in his own studio, but ultimately almost entirely created in, and inspired by, the Californian apartment.

Onirica
(Markus Suckut Remix)

Press Info:
With Coalescence, The Third Room brings together artists from distinct yet interconnected techno lineages, united by a shared understanding of the music as both physical and introspective. Rather than staging contrasts, the EP focuses on convergence, where propulsion, atmosphere and restraint fold into a coherent whole. Rene Wise & Ignez open the release with Anjos, pairing Wise’s tactile, percussive pressure with Ignez’s expansive, oceanic pads. The result sits at the intersection of functional drive and elevated, almost devotional space, reflecting a new generation’s approach to techno as both tool and inner landscape. Norbak’s remix draws the track further inward, deepening its hypnotic pull and extending its energy into a more meditative, slow-burning form. On the B-side, Claudio PRC & Luigi Tozzi present Onirica, a deeply restrained and immersive composition rooted in atmosphere, spatial detail and subtle psychedelia. Unfolding with patience, it rewards attentive listening and long-form dancefloor contexts. Markus Suckut closes the EP by reducing Onirica to its bare essentials, applying his signature economy and precision to heighten tension and focus. Coalescence reflects The Third Room’s vision of techno as a shared terrain, where different voices and generations meet, align and quietly reinforce one another.

Press Info:
(Arguably) The world’s first manufactured electronic pop band. Comprised of members Darryl, Jacki, Paul and Diane, Silicon Teens were the brainchild of producer Larry Least.

Ahead of their time both in concept and sound, but unfortunately they only released one album, Music for Parties, following the release musical differences drove the band apart, but their profile was raised when John Hughes used the track Red River Rock prominently in his film Planes, Trains and Automobiles which starred John Candy and Steve Martin. The album includes re-imagined rock n roll classics like Let’s Dance, Memphis Tennessee and You Really Got Me.

Originally released in September 1980, the second album to be released by the independent record label Mute, Daniel Miller’s successful company which he launched with his own single under the moniker The Normal and worked closely with Frank Tovey.
