After the vocal treatments and acid lines of Tallmen 001, Moog feedback comes rumbling through as Tallmen 002 kicks in. Multi joins as a co-producer for ”D220” Ghosts of guitar and synth lines weave in and out as it picks up momentum, the kick drum planted firmly in the chest plate and swirling high-hats complete this burner of a track. ”Floating Ground” returns to acid but not as one would expect. A simple melody turns into a strange animal, flying at once into outer-space then landing squarely on the 1, this is not your average acid tune.

With Code Is Law 003, label head Moerbeck plays with this artistic device with great success: “Movies For The Blind” takes direct aim at our imagination without allowing its intent to shine through to the surface. XVII from Leipzig’s Institut für Zukunft begins by laying an unshakable foundation for this short story with his eponymous ambient production. Delta X, Moerbeck and Eomac are telling the rest of this mysterious story with a Four-to-the-Floor-Beat.
The phenomenon kopfkino is a nuanced thing, although, especially in music, it has the ability to work as an impassioned metaphor. Only then, when music has the power to move, are the doors of this mental cinema opened, our imaginative abilities primed, and dormant associations stirred to life. A succinct “Go” is heard on “Broken Mirror” by Urkraine’s Delta X and with driving loops gathers momentum for the whole. On side b, it’s almost as if Moerbeck and Eomac want to tell two alternative endings to the story. The first concludes the narrative, draped in melancholy, making use of a modulated synth loop, followed by Eomac, who sows complete confusion and lets everything sink to its end in a bog of filters.
Note:
After releasing a record on his own label ACR, 2 EPs on Marcel Dettmann’s MDR and a track on Ostgut Ton (alias Patrick Gräser) and doing remixes for Marcel Dettmann and Skudge, Answer Code Request just put out the second 12″ on ACR and started to present live sets besides his djing.
So we are very happy to have him for our new mix in November. He did something very special for us: he created a set only consisting of his own tracks, no tracks by someone else (except his remix for Marcel Dettmann).
Buy links for all the stuff can be found on the features for each release – see “Recommendations”.

To celebrate a quarter of a century in existence, Bomb The Bass emphatically blow out the birthday candles with some of their biggest tunes. As the name suggests, ‘Mega Dis!’ is a fusion of ‘Megablast’and ‘Beat Dis’, both given 21st century updates packed with percussion, driving bass lines and acidic synths. Flipside is a new ‘ReDusted’ version of ‘Bug Powder Dust’, taken out of its own body but retaining that killer bass riff, of course!
