Info:
It seems that we have heard it all and it’s partially true. But if you step outside of the system that links new names with the usual labels, then you will discover new artists. New artists who are already doing their part in the current techno scene, or who have just started to be part of it. These two artists are the example.
Techno as it should be!! PVS (already released on his own label H.omevvork and the prestigious M_Rec Ltd) has signed one side of the vinyl with 2 tracks. The other side is signed by the Spanish Hector Oaks, already highly appreciated as a DJ and as a producer, wherever he goes.
You have to listen to the record, everything else is just talk. Let’s do it! …

out now: Atom™ & Tobias. – Physik 1 EP [Ostgut Ton]

Artist:
Atom™ & Tobias.

Title:
Physik 1 EP

Label:
Ostgut Ton

Cat#:
O-TON 72

Release Date:
October 2013

Format:
12″ & digital

Tracklist:
01)
Physik 44A

02)
Physik G321V

Press Info (English):
Atom™ & Tobias. deliver their first tracks recorded for Ostgut Ton on the „Physik 1 EP“. Both artists operate within a wide spectrum of electronic music, ranging from Ambient through Electro to Techno. For this collaboration on Ostgut Ton they opted for two classic Acid jams.

On the first side „Physik 44A“ builds a steady sweep with its continually modulating Acid line and relentlessly driving percussion. Luscious beats are propelled through an intricately crafted hi-hat construction until the filter cut-off signals a break, only to allow the track to strike back in full force.

On the B-side „Physik G321V“ focuses on the groove. The same subject with a different approach. A surprising balancing act between the serious mood layed down by the track and the combined playful vocal stabs that are comfortably bathed in Acid as though they always belonged there. A thoroughly timeless record.

(Luis Flores Remix)

04)
Metal
(Pinion Version)

Press Info:
Bryan Black AKA Black Asteroid returns to Electric Deluxe with his most precise and daring invention yet. ‘Metal’ picks up from where the ‘Black Acid EP’ left off with more sonic alchemies sounding unlike anything else. The former Prince engineer turned MOTOR front man turned galvanic techno DJ, producer and performer has had an incredible run in his latest guise. Since debuting on CLR with ‘The Engine EP’ over a series of well-shaped and energetic releases Bryan Black has forged a distinct and unique signature that is tactile, otherworldly and utterly timeless.

Ingenious sound design has become his calling card, while Black’s award winning MOTOR heritage never seems far behind. Moments on ‘Black Acid’ felt like he brought the band to the DJ booth. And with ‘Metal’ the sentiment rings even truer. This is “heavy metal techno,” says Black, “but in a very restrained and controlled way.” Indeed the hum of guitars (synths routed through guitar pedals) whirr through lead track “Metal,” a taut and punchy workout spliced with token Black Asteroid weirdness. Meanwhile Black gets even more contained on the masterfully metronomic “Turbine”.

Droid affiliate Luis Flores and Pinion (Bobby Dowell) then split “Metal” off into its opposing sectors. Flores takes things straight the dance floor, while Pinion ramps up the noise and clangor to turn in a real unholy “Metal” monster. Another must for Black Asteroid fans and for those who like their techno cast from mysterious molds.
