(Peter Van Hoesen Remix)

Press Info:
“This ancestral bones” – title of the second release of the Berlin-based label Ownlife. It features two original tracks of Leiras and a remix by one of the key-names in the electronic music-scene, the multifaceted Peter Van Hoesen.

The record opens with a direct weapon. “These Bones” combines the classic sound of techno with the actual vision of dance oriented music. Metallic sound melts over its gloomy atmosphere to a true profit for a dark clubsound.

“Diagram” is the ideal example for the characteristic, hypnotic sound of the label – with a hard-hitting rhythm, keeping the driving sound.

The B side completes the record with the remix of Van Hoesen. The different sounds of the original track intervene in a repetitive way, creating an incredible groove. The belgian producer illuminates the release, with a dreamy pad to an eigth minute long trip, what is the perfect end to this EP.

Press Info:
2014 had a flying start with Radial‘s 2nd album and the first release of his new imprint Radial Records. ‚Crux‘ received massive support from the public, dj‘s and press, and now we present you a package of gorgeous remixes by some of the strongest players in techno music today, combined with fine remix work by some highly talented producers from Holland.

First up is Anton Pieete who has just released a very strong 2×12”on Rejected. He brings us back to the basics of ‚Karplus‘ with a stripped-back but heavy approach with only one thing in mind: the dance floor. Patrik Skoog needs no introduction of course and his funky but chunky mix of ‚Fifth Wheel‘ will leave no one sitting still, Patrik at his best!

On the flip side it‘s Darko Esser a.k.a. Tripeo taking control. He has delivered two amazing remixes both under his Tripeo alias and his own name. Enriching the original tracks with some signature leads.

Three digital-only bonus remixes finish off this release in style. Some lesser known names but the results are all the more interesting. Shadowboxer who also forms ‚Sinecure‘ together with Radial brings us a bass heavy remix with noisy stabs and metallic hats. Colophon chooses a more trippy approach all built on the warmth of an organic and evolving bass line. Finally we welcome back an old friend and former member of Radial: Boyconstrictor with his fast-paced version of ‚Tipsy‘.

Press Info (English):
Schlammpeitziger – “What’s Fruit”
With his new album “What’s Fruit”, Schlammpeitziger touches the dancefloor more than ever before in his 22-year long career. Yet his dancefloor is a playful one. The Cologne based composer’s sounds electrify with their multi-layered melodic structures. He weaves countless details in perfection, to a high density of musical activity, always focusing on the slow, driving beats which hold everything together. Each of the eight tracks represents shades of the unique humour we love about Schlammpeitziger: The tricky question about what’s those things we call fruit, or his mantric German lyrics on “Schneid ein Stück aus der Zeit” are charming messages which never fail to be heard in the guise of those lovely synth hooks.

This new Schlammpeitziger disco has its source in a situation which does not quite promise relaxed creativity: In the past year Schlammpeitziger’s studio in Cologne has been surrounded by construction works. Locked up in his private space between massive hums, squealing saws and pulsating jackhammers, he delivers this indeed relaxed album with eight tracks. It comes across with the freshness of a debut work.

Contrary to his previous records which had been mostly made with analogue synths, this album has been produced with iPad synths at 90% of the time, before taking the mixes to Stefan Mohr’s (exmember of the band “Workshop”) mixing console.

It is the first time for Schlammpeitziger to release a record outside of his Cologne based home labels A-Musik and Sonig. This time the musician, drawer and charismatic performer appears on the Pingipung imprint from Hamburg. He had been in touch with the label for years and has also been a regular guest in the Golden Pudel Club. A lot has happened since Jo Zimmermann invented the Schlammpeitziger character in 1992. Artists like Depeche Mode, The Bionaut, Barbara Morgenstern or Egoexpress have asked for remixes and he has played countless international stages. His many albums and CDs have even been compiled to “Collected Simple Songs Of My Temporary Past“ by the Domino label (UK), Thrill Jockey (US) and Tokuma (Japan) in 2001.

Pingipung will release a Remix EP to „What?s Fruit?“ on Nov. 24th 2014, with remixes by Andreas Dorau, Candie Hank, Mouse On Mars, Hey-O-Hansen, Springintgut and Thomas Mahmoud. Schlammpeitziger will present the album live in Hamburg (Oct 10th, Thalia Nachtasyl) and Cologne (Oct 17th, King Georg). He will be joined on stage by Andreas Dorau and Candie Hank. The Berlin presentation will take place as a part of the two-day event celebrating 21 years of Mouse On Mars, on Oct 31st at Hebbel am Ufer.

Press Info (German):
Schlammpeitziger – “What’s Fruit”
Oktober 2014 sein neustes Album „What’s Fruit?“.
