Press Info:
Connewitz Plagwitz, Reudnitz alles Klar. Hin her, hinher hin!

10/40 – Distillery – Westwerk – IFZ – Conne Island – Kronik.

The 2nd Split EP with the hidden artist of Leipzig.

The new Split EP from Hypress comes from the hidden of the Leipzig Techno world. Oliver Rosemann and Moton are no unwritten leaves. Oliver Rosemann as part of the former 10/40 acts in the 2000s already appeared with his alias Dualit on CLR Records and gets some reputation with his last releases on MORD Konsequent, Stockholm ltd. etc. much attention. With his two tracks on vinyl and later a third piece of digital Hypress wants to show not only the span of his musical creativity. It’s also a clear commitment to club-oriented techno sound. Mallets is a subtle creaky peaktime banger. Ractact is likely to find a good place in many trippy Djs sets with its meandering hookline.

Moton is a formation of Mod.Civil and DJ Templeton (Gerrit Behrens & René Wettig). Here old and new tracks come together to form a counterpart to the A-side. The focus here is clearly on Jack, Electro and club music based on EBM in the last third. “Welivelikehome” combines the rugged aggressiveness of Techno with the casualness of many house productions from the Chicago and Detroit corner. Typically Mod.Civil. Moody, Melancholic, rugged, experimtal.

Press Info:
Five years after his critically acclaimed debut Drone Logic, London-based producer Daniel Avery announces his highly anticipated second album Song For Alpha, set for release on April 6th 2018 on Phantasy. The album is preceded on January 19th by a 4-track limited edition 12” vinyl EP titled Slow Fade.

A prelude to the LP’s sonic exploration of the twilight world of a personal, transient life spent between clubs, hotel rooms, airports and home, Slow Fade captures the expanded foundations of Avery’s sonic palette. Arresting club moments linger under the surface, but the focus is on the smudged ambience that underpin Avery’s grasp on rave euphoria.

As a re-entry into a broader musical universe, ‘Slow Fade’ is immediately compelling, combining neo-acid, feedback loops and pure atmosphere at a patient but restrained pace. Meanwhile, ‘After Dark’ alters this aesthetic to it’s raw, pensive elements, stripping Avery’s distinctive drums completely, revealing a meditative, ambient fog.

‘Radius’ announces itself with industrial intent, before unfolding seamlessly into a wistful electronic hymn, the perfect soundtrack to brooding London skies, and eventually evolving into slow-motion motorik. Closing the EP, ‘Fever Dream’ finds Avery at club tempo, but in a somewhat agitated state, on this occasion focusing on a paranoid rhythm that emerges clean from eerie, even paranoid territory.

(Axkan Remix)

Press Info:
OMEN Recordings is off running to the industrial techno races again, and this third release has already been gaining traction around the globe with high anticipation and support from many respected producers and DJs alike. The Puppetskin EP, written and produced by German and French artists, RENDERED, with remixes by American producers BLACK ASTEROID and AXKAN, is off to a great start.

RENDERED starts off strong with the title track, “Puppetskin” (A1), with strong breakbeat kicks, thrashing snares and rich synth lines that are melodic and spacey. The dancefloor will surely love the Charles Manson samples. “Nightmoves” (A2) also heads the pack with shuffling kicks while rich, minor-tuned pads take you on a persistent journey. About half way through, you will be moved by a 4/4 pattern that sneaks in and will be a favorite for the dancers. BLACK ASTEROID’s remix of “Puppetskin” (B2) does not disappoint as signature Black Asteroid textures and rhythms come alive in this rendition. Although it has rounded, full soundscapes that sound perfect for a large venue, its pumping, hypnotizing bass lines and screeching sirens keep you pulled into the darkness. AXKAN stays in the pack with his earthshattering remix of “Puppetskin” (B1) by starting slow with a profound intro to then push the audio boundaries with his powerful kick and bassline, to gain more and more strength with vocal samples, distorted drums and FX. AXKAN uses every stem of the original in such a creative way to help win the race.

This EP, soon to be available on vinyl and digital formats, exceeds the expectations of sound design and techno together. No matter what time of night it is, these tracks can be played in a versatile way. While still employing darker textures, a breath of light creeps its way in. Listening to this EP start to finish is definitely worthwhile
