Press Info:
Fresh off the back of their recent stunning performance on ‘Later With Jools Holland’ and a sold out European tour, Goldfrapp are set to release a brand new version of ‘Utopia’, one of the highlights from their debut long player “Felt Mountain” which is recognised by critics and fans alike across the globe as one of the Albums of the Year.

Set for release on June 11th, the new ‘genetically enriched‘ ‘Utopia’ comes backed with brilliant new remixes by the likes of Tom Middleton, Jori Hilkonnen and Tim Wright.

Tom Middleton, currently on a roll with his ‘Play To Win’ single and recent remixes for Junior, Hooj Choons and All Saints delivers two mixes. The superb ‘Cosmos Vocal Mix’, blends Goldfrapp’s exquisite orchestration with a rolling break and a deep house groove, while ‘Cosmos Acid Dub Mix’ is a far more twisted affair and is already heavily supported by the likes of Digweed, Tenaglia and Deep Dish. The much lauded Finnish producer Jori Hulkonnen combines Alison Goldfrapp’s unique vocals with a groove and melody which recall the sounds of early Detroit Techno whilst perfectly retaining the distinctive mood of “Felt Mountain”, while Tim Wright lends his own brand of twisted break beat which is currently a permanent fixture in the record box of Fatboy Slim amongst many others.

has remixed ‘Utopia’. Download an exclusive MP3 of the entire track now.

Note: US CD release combined the European releases of “Utopia” & “Utopia (Genetically Enriched)” and had additionally “Human (Calexico Vocal)” from “Human” (CDMUTE259). The “Utopia” remix by Mick Harvey from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was available for free on mute.com but not released commercially.

Press Info (English):For over 20 years, Kalipo has operated in the dynamic space between electronics and emotion, club culture and songwriting, politics and poetry. As a producer and co-founder of projects like the legendary electro-punk band Frittenbude – with whom he won the 1LIVE Krone, Germany’s most prestigious radio award – and the dark-disco trio Dina Summer along with Local Suicide.

With “Alles”, Kalipo releases his fifth solo album – and perhaps his most personal to date. Blending dark club energy, playful indie songwriting, and analog DIY production, the album boldly continues his artistic journey: rougher, edgier, yet always heartfelt. The warm melancholy of earlier works meets cool beats, analog grit, inner turmoil, and a significantly increased vocal presence. It sounds like a new beginning.

Here, Kalipo emerges as songwriter, producer, and performer all in one. His sound – which he describes as Psychedelic Disco Punk – merges punk’s attitude with the force of club music and the emotional depth of classic song structures. Stylistically, he moves between dark disco, post-punk, EBM, indie sleaze, techno, electroclash, and songwriting. Again and again, he combines synth arpeggios, pounding four-on-the-floor drums, and shimmering guitars with catchy vocal hooks, distilling the essence of a sound deeply rooted in Berlin.

The title track “Alles” captures this tension right from the start: a dark disco track that begins with typical heaviness and gradually dissolves into lightness. Driven by a propulsive beat echoing retro textures, deep electronic basslines and dragging synth sequences unfold, while the guitar glimmers intermittently – like a light showing the way out.

At the core: “And the fear you carry in your heart – have you lost it today? Anything can happen.” This play between lightness and gravity runs throughout the entire album. “Alles” tells of departure and new beginnings, of inner conflict, depression, desire, and love – while also bidding farewell to hegemonic masculinity. Despite the weight of its themes, the album radiates strength and confidence.

“History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes,” wrote Mark Twain. Kalipo makes that rhyme audible. Just as the songs of the 1980s offered counter-narratives to the leaden heaviness of their time, “Alles” seeks expression in today’s hazy present. Music as attitude, as movement, as an invitation to surrender control. Not just nostalgic, but firmly anchored in the now.

Vintage drum machines meet modern, punchy snares on tracks like “Crimson Rain.” Raw synth basslines and floating chorus guitars shape songs like “Geister” and “All Things Must Come to an End.” The often laconic vocals add a depth usually found in classic songwriting. “Sparkling Tears,” “Deine Worte,” and “My Laboratory” hit hard, pulling us back onto the dance floors of Berlin’s dark, smoky clubs.

It’s precisely this intersection between club and indie where Kalipo feels most at home – moving freely between genres while always retaining his signature style.

Press Info:
nearly ten years ago, toureau releases his last single and there were people who said there was nothing more to come… but it was worth the wait because sometimes things need their time -especially the good ones! so 2022 is the perfect mment to reanimate with mŸller one of germanys hottest and legendary techno labels, join the forces and start a new chapter. “telecommande”(french for remote control) is a perfect summer tune with some emotional trancey melodies for the festivalseason.

munichs deejay gigolo martin matiske interprets this track in his own unique detroit-infected electro-style a la dopplereffekt and brings back some 80s-retro to the floors.
on the flipside AFUs felix bernhardt shows us the “stompy” side of techno and the perfect sound for the next megarave.

last but not least italys rising star vicky montefusco who already releases on marc houles “items&things” presents his own groovy and deep minimalistic remixversion.

This release comes in a limited white coloured vinyl edition with a beautiful cover-artwork and pictures of famous photographer ralf peters, who already has exhibited his art in miami, zurich or tokyo..

Note: for digital release the position of the original was switched with Martin Matiske’s version. Martin Matiske’s version is labelled as “Martin Matiske Remix” there.

03.
Ucklay

Press Info:
WIDE Records is pleased to announce Debasser’s second release of 2025, titled “Home.”

This three-track EP fuses UK Bass, techno, electro, dub, and a touch of downtempo post-club electronica.

The EP commences with “What Is The Time?”, a Debasser classic that showcases his signature wobbles, rumbles, bleeps, and beats, drawing inspiration from the Detroit and Chicago music scenes. The track is a nod to those times when you just don’t want the music to stop and simply want to keep on dancing.

The second track, “N47 To Canada Water,” is a dub electro glitchy affair that pays homage to Debasser’s early London clubbing days. It evokes the memory of waiting at the same bus stop in Shoreditch, patiently counting down the minutes until the bus would finally arrive and begin the slow journey home.

Finally, the EP concludes with the enigmatic “Ucklay,” a beautifully lush, down tempo, post-club track that invites the listener to just kick back, relax and float away.

Debasser has been crafting dance music since the early 2000s. His debut track was released on GTI Recordings in Detroit by Disco D. The track gained widespread recognition, leading to its release on NovaMute, followed by tracks on Seed, Balkan Vinyl, Input Output Inc., and his own WIDE Records. He was a member of Andrew Weatherall’s Haywire agency, playing their parties and numerous other clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as DJing on Radio 1.

With an eclectic sound and genre-defying approach, Debasser seamlessly blends jungle/drum and bass, techno, UKG, electro, house, and any other musical elements that capture his attention. His unique sound consistently revolves around parties and bass.
