Press Info:
WIDE Records is proud to announce Debasser’s first release of 2026 entitled “Kaggs”.

This three-track EP is nothing more than a humble tribute to one of the greatest Jungle labels of all time, Joker Records. Its creation is a labour of love and has been a personal project for Debasser for some time.

Trying to capture the pure, archaic, raw, yet joyous sound of the many perfect releases that Joker put out over the years.

The EP opens with “Cricket”, borrowing from a classic late 70s cod reggae tune, it follows the anti-rules of tunes before. Teasing the listener and then dropping a bass line that is certain to raise the roof on any dance floor.

Track two follows a similar set up with “No Words”. This time taking advantage of some high-speed 80s film influences. As a tune it probably shouldn’t work, yet it clearly does.

Finally, we have “Red”, a tune that has to be heard to be believed. While that may sound pompous, it’s already had fantastic reactions from listeners. This is a tune that not only gets those feet dancing like a goon, you’ll also end up smiling like one too.

Debasser has been producing dance music since the early 2000s. His debut track was released on GTI Recordings in Detroit by Disco D. The track was quickly picked up by Richie Hawtin, leading to a release on NovaMute, followed by tracks on Seed, Balkan Vinyl, Input Output Inc., and his own WIDE Records. He was part of Andrew Weatherall’s Haywire agency, playing their parties and countless other clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as DJing on Radio 1.

With an eclectic sound and genre-bending approach, he blends jungle/ drum and bass, techno, UKG, electro, house, and anything else that catches his fancy to create an unforgettable sound, always centred around parties and bass.

Press Info:
WIDE Records is pleased to announce Debasser’s second release of 2025, titled “Home.”

This three-track EP fuses UK Bass, techno, electro, dub, and a touch of downtempo post-club electronica.

The EP commences with “What Is The Time?”, a Debasser classic that showcases his signature wobbles, rumbles, bleeps, and beats, drawing inspiration from the Detroit and Chicago music scenes. The track is a nod to those times when you just don’t want the music to stop and simply want to keep on dancing.

The second track, “N47 To Canada Water,” is a dub electro glitchy affair that pays homage to Debasser’s early London clubbing days. It evokes the memory of waiting at the same bus stop in Shoreditch, patiently counting down the minutes until the bus would finally arrive and begin the slow journey home.

Finally, the EP concludes with the enigmatic “Ucklay,” a beautifully lush, down tempo, post-club track that invites the listener to just kick back, relax and float away.

Debasser has been crafting dance music since the early 2000s. His debut track was released on GTI Recordings in Detroit by Disco D. The track gained widespread recognition, leading to its release on NovaMute, followed by tracks on Seed, Balkan Vinyl, Input Output Inc., and his own WIDE Records. He was a member of Andrew Weatherall’s Haywire agency, playing their parties and numerous other clubs and festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as DJing on Radio 1.

With an eclectic sound and genre-defying approach, Debasser seamlessly blends jungle/drum and bass, techno, UKG, electro, house, and any other musical elements that capture his attention. His unique sound consistently revolves around parties and bass.

Press Info:
WIDE Records is proud to announce the labels 40th release “Done”, the new EP from UK Bass pioneer and producer Debasser. This three-track EP blends UK Bass, breaks, electro, and a nostalgic nod to the 2000s with a dash of Big Beat.

The title track “Done” is another Debasser classic that showcases his signature wobbles, rumbles, bleeps, and beats. The track serves as a reminder of those late-night escapades when we may have indulged in excessive revelry. Despite its darker tone, it retains Debasser’s playful production techniques, ensuring it’s a true crowd-pleaser.

“Slim Chance” pays homage to the vibrant Brighton boutique scene of the past, featuring looped soul samples, chopped breaks, and a driving bass line that creates an infectious and floor-filling track.

Finally, “Old” is a slightly slower tempo electro-bass tribute to those who may be numerically older but still feel as young as ever. High blips and low subby pads create a wall of sound, accompanied by vocal cuts and loops, as the track progresses through its builds and drops.

Repeat

Press Info:
Debasser is back with not one but two new tracks for September 2024. This latest release features the tunes “Gem” and “Repeat”. Both showcasing Debasser’s signature bass-driven sound and promising to add the necessary noises, beats and mischief that people have come to expect.

The first track, “Gem” is a minimalist mid tempo roller with influences from the sounds of last year’s “Thirst” and “Vertigo”. Uplifting chord stabs, glitchy percussion, vocal snaps and a speaker busting bass line, the tune builds and releases throughout creating a joyous uplifting floor filler.

Track two, “Repeat” kicks off with a harder bass line and the introduction of the tunes somewhat nonsense lyrics that Debasser prides himself in. As the tune builds and the beat finally drops, we’re set for a spot of pure electro bass filth.

Debasser has been producing dance music since the early 2000s. His debut track was released on GTI Recordings in Detroit by Disco D.
