Press Info:
After two years of critically acclaimed releases, Rapid Eye Movement comes to a close with one last release from label co-founders VII Circle.

Always dealing in music for mind and body, Rapid Eye Movement’s sound has been carefully curated and decidedly cutting edge. Known for releases on HEX Recordings and Illegal Alien Records, VII Circle have been behind most releases on REM and now serve up five more stunning soundscapes. They are inspired by industrial and take techno in a prodigious new direction.

The journey commences with the intense ambiance of ‘Hope & Fear’ which offsets heavy, sustained chords with thinner, more pixelated pads. It’s a great mix of light and dark while ‘Why Should You Want to Find The Light’ is a cantering techno track with edgy trance chords bringing real suspense. Keeping you on your toes throughout, the pressure is only upped with the buzz saw synths and hammering gabber drums of hellacious banger ‘To The Core.’ The driving ‘Breath Fire’ is pure warehouse techno with paranoid synths dancing above more frazzled chords. This excellently enthralling EP closes with the white knuckle ride that is ‘Lost.’ Heavy kicks, sheet metal synths and a real sense of foreboding all make this another standout track.

Each of these pieces very much have their own personality: they are powerful and hypnotising and, say VII Circle, “to be savoured on the dance floor or on the battlefield.” It is a fittingly epic end to what has been a fascinating label.

Press Info:
Jasmine Azarian caught my ear with a DJ set a while back so I asked her to send some tracks over. The first two she sent were stunning – raw, emotive, warehouse anthems (no Hardwax you may not steal my description). If that doesn’t float your mojito we have none other than Manni Dee and Ossian remixing each track just to add a shit ton more sizzle to the party.
