Chlär unfurls a tempest of techno sonics with ‘Crying for Identity’ – a relentlessly climbing composition of chest-pounding drums and cagey hi hats. Chlär finds the perfect balance between warped ethereal pads and bone shattering rhythm sections – a whirlwind of dystopian sounds prove to be the perfect opening for the latest EP to grace Moments in Time. The newly established Manchester label is headed by Mark Bradbury aka Rudosa, exploring a darker, more brooding approach to techno. The perfect sanctuary for Chlär’s forceful and driving tracks.

The opening track sees a quintessentially powerful remix from techno heavyweight and Possession Paris’s resident Hadone. Masterfully tweaking Chlär’s rhythmic architecture into a charged up and melodic ode to 90’s techno glory. Hadone has been clambering up the dance music echelons with great haste – he’s seen releases on esteemed labels such as Monnom Black and KAOS, leaving a blazing trail across the world club circuit with his uniquely melancholic sound. ‘Wiring our Emotions’ bears a fast-mutating arrangement with an impeccably textured bassline that feels alive with modulation. All elements point toward a kaleidoscopic breakdown sure to draw crowds from the farthest corner of the club straight into the fray. Chlär impressively congeals differing melodic elements to create a truly standout track equipped for extensive sound system use.

The EP’s conclusive track ‘Nostalgic Ignition’ builds fervently upon the twisting framework of the record’s previous tracks. A processed and eerie choir sample glides softly through the track’s outer reaches to add a menacing level of depth to the composition. Chlär’s stereo imagery is second to none as the hi-hats sharpness meanders through the full-sounding and colourful mix. Moments in Time have cultivated a staggeringly dominant release with Chlär standing tall at the helm.

Insolate’s debut LP is remixed by Ben Sims, Pfirter, Sev Dah, Amotik, Under Black Helmet and more for ‘Order Is Chaos Remixed’ released this June.

Released via her Out of Place imprint a year on from the LP’ Order is Chaos’, ‘Order is Chaos Remixed’ sees the Croatian techno artist draft eight of techno’s most vital talents to create a remix LP which touches on a spectrum of modern techno sounds.

UK techno legend Ben Sims offers two gritty remixes with pulsating rhythms and spiralling synths whilst Out of Place label co-founder Volster delivers sparkling tones in his remix of ‘In Praise of Shadows’. Berlin-based artist Amotik keeps the dynamic energy flowing with a subtle acid revolver before Sev Dah’s remix filled with shimmering grooves and old school rawness takes the LP up a notch.

Under Black Helmet’s remix of ‘Not Alone’ features an animated 303 sequence riding over monumental kicks, and Flaminia’s atmospheric haunter with deep, syncopated cadence and ominous modulations both leave you enthralled. Then the offbeat madness and capturing sonics lay the foundations of ASEC’s remix of ‘Mortal Coil’ until Pfirter’s interpretation rounds things off with sinister oscillations orbiting around and powerful drums.

A powerhouse of the Croatian techno scene, Insolate has been establishing a global presence as a DJ and producer for over 20 years now, delivering as both the label boss and creative force behind the Out Of Place imprint and the electrifying TRAUM events. In 2020 Insolate dropped the critically acclaimed ‘Order Is Chaos’ album which gained much respect from multiple techno heavyweights, including Paula Temple, Ben Sims, Truncate, Rebekah, Charlotte de Witte, Perc, Exium, and Adriana Lopez to name a few. The album is a substantially broad palette of styles described by DJ Mag as an “exciting journey through trans-dimensional vocals, acid-drenched sequences and floor obligated bangers.

2021 sees EPM hit a new milestone as the digital distribution, rights management, PR company and record label celebrates 20 years of electronic music. In April, we announced the first part of our EPM20 celebrations – a series of three multi-artist EPs released across the summer, each focussing on a different genre.

The first of these focussed on techno with new and exclusive tracks by Robert Hood, Ben Sims, James Ruskin and Mark Broom for release at the end of May. We’re now ready to drop ‘EPM20 – EP 2’ which turns the spotlight on electro. For this special EP, we’ve gathered brand new tracks by The Advent & Zein Ferreira, Carl Finlow, Detroit’s Filthiest and Modulator a.k.a. Freddie Fresh.

As all good electro-heads will know, The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) is as renowned for electro as he is for techno. On ‘Strangeform’ he works alongside his son and rising talent, Zein to turn in pure electro-funk that’s blistering to the last beat. Another absolute master of the scene is Carl Finlow who brings deep bass notes, carefully crafted melody and his meticulous production skills to ‘Optogenetic’. Detroit’s Filthiest has been wowing listeners with his work for labels like Casa Voyager, Bass Agenda, Philthtrax and his own MCEC. His track ‘Werewolf’ is the electro monster the title suggests – dark and tough Detroit-electro book-ended with a playful vocal. The EP closes with the legendary, Freddie Fresh who after three decades is a genuine virtuoso. Under his Modulator guise he layers beautiful retro synth stylings and sci-fi atmospherics on ‘ProMars’.

The third EP featuring four house tracks will follow in July, with the ‘EPM20’ compilation after the summer.
