2021 was a successful year of strong releases from Moments In Time. Based in Manchester, it has shown its commitment to signing new exciting local talent, as well as those more established names, with artists including Hadone and Blicz, who is now making his return with a powerful first release of 2022 with ‘Piracy Never Ending’.

The Parisian star broke onto the scene back in 2015 with a series of releases on MM.Rec which quickly positioned him among the global elite. Now a firm favourite with the main tastemakers, his track ‘Eleven Roses’ (with Geerson) features on Amelie Lens’ 2019 Fabric compilation mix.

The ‘90s-inspired EP opens with ‘Dark Flag’; galloping hats and rubbery off-beat bass build towards the main break where a dystopian vocal and ravey synths cause all kinds of mayhem. ‘Night Talk’ is relentless. Industrial beats lay the foundations before trance-like synthlines hypnotise. ‘Groovy Cycle Baby’ is an acid techno masterclass full of busy percussion and spiky melodics that satisfies the peak-time headliner in all of us. Rounding out the EP, ‘First Contact’ powers from the off. Vocal ad libs punctuate the beats on this Liberator style acid monster.

For the last release of the year, Rudosa welcomes Irish talent Alt8 with a heart racing 3 track release, including a remix from the label boss himself.

Evan, aka Alt8 has had successful releases with a collaboration track on Kneaded Pains, Sara Landry remixing his track ‘Transcend’ on T-Minus Records and most recently a standout remix for Rebekah on her Elements Records imprint. His sets blend dark and gritty techno with industrial drums and early 90s rave influences.

Opening with the title track, ‘Hope In Darkness’ explosive industrial beats pound the senses from the off. Gargantuan reese bass and a catchy melodic hook mid way make for a powerful peak time cut.

Valhalla Calling’ powers forward with tough drums and scattergun percussions before dropping into a haunting melodic hook. Eerie sub-harmonics and a gnarly bass in the break add drama before the beat drops and carnage ensues. On remix duties, Rudosa does his best to dirty up the beats and adds an even more twisted hook for the ultimate e-moment.

Finally, ‘Concrete Walls’ sees Mr Marshall flex his funky techno muscles. Vocal asides syncopate against icy stabs and a rumbling industrial beat. Thin moody pads provide the perfect melodic juxtaposition as the dancefloor reaches fever pitch.

Geerson makes his debut on the label with the ‘Undoing Time EP’ featuring 3 originals and a remix from long-time collaborator, Blicz.

The Frenchman shot to fame back in 2019 with the inclusion of his track ‘Eleven Roses’ on Amelie Lens’ Fabric Presents mix, and has gone on to sign music to high performing labels such as Ismus, Arts and Outworld. Co-founder of Paris-based Xperience Collective, he regularly plays across Europe and beyond.

Opening with ‘Undoing Time’ pounding industrial beats marry with funky sonics for a proper dancefloor workout. On ‘Crazy With The All Squad’, scattergun hats and a repeated vocal create the peak-time mayhem Geerson is best known for. For the remix, Blicz takes on ‘Crazy With The All Squad’ and transforms it into an epic broken beat monster that mutates again into an end of the night sweat marathon. Finally, ‘No Limit For My Dream’ powers into life with heavily overdriven kicks and a bassline that literally compels you to dance! The breakdown midway acts as brief respite before descending once more into dancefloor carnage.

Rudosa returns to his Manchester based imprint this September, with a brand-new addition to the labels ever growing list of talented artists, now to include US based female techno queen – Sara Landry.

Rudosa has cementing his label quickly within the underground movement, after a string of successful releases from himself, as well as VA’s hosting some standout tracks from Charlie Sparks, Hioll, Blicz, Balrog and SLV.

‘Passive Submission’ delivers gritty kicks and a noisy percussive underbelly that lay the foundations for eerie stabs and an atmosphere of existential uncertainty. Becoming more musical midway the stabs form a dystopian melody luring you onto the dancefloor. US based producer Sara Landry has been getting substantial recognition after releases on RAW and Techno Germany, her Boiler Room ‘Hard Dance’ stream and exciting debut mix for Possession. She adds her unique energy to the remix of the original, by upping the tempo and adding a dirty acid line to the main motifs for that essential mid-90s squat party mayhem!

‘Fire In The Gates Of Hell’ sees more mid-tempo industrial grit added to the drums from the off. Snappy snares keep time as the tension grows more insistent with the introduction of rave like stabs. Finally, ‘Fear of Rejection’ ups the ante and finishes off the EP in fine form. Floating above the scattergun madness of percussive energy, the hypnotic melodics grab your attention, growing to a crescendo, leaving any thoughts of rejection a million miles away.

Chlär unfurls a tempest of techno sonics with ‘Crying for Identity’ – a relentlessly climbing composition of chest-pounding drums and cagey hi hats. The opening track sees a quintessentially powerful remix from techno heavyweight and Possession Paris’s resident Hadone. Masterfully tweaking Chlär’s rhythmic architecture into a charged up and melodic ode to 90’s techno glory. Hadone has been clambering up the dance music echelons with great haste – he’s seen releases on esteemed labels such as Monnom Black and KAOS, leaving a blazing trail across the world club circuit with his uniquely melancholic sound. ‘Wiring our Emotions’ bears a fast-mutating arrangement with an impeccably textured bassline that feels alive with modulation. All elements point toward a kaleidoscopic breakdown sure to draw crowds from the farthest corner of the club straight into the fray. Chlär impressively congeals differing melodic elements to create a truly standout track equipped for extensive sound system use.

The EP’s conclusive track ‘Nostalgic Ignition’ builds fervently upon the twisting framework of the record’s previous tracks. A processed and eerie choir sample glides softly through the track’s outer reaches to add a menacing level of depth to the composition. Chlär’s stereo imagery is second to none as the hi-hats sharpness meanders through the full-sounding and colourful mix.
