Press Info:
„made of CONCRETE“ offer the reigns for the second edition of their Digital series to Italian born DJ, producer and Truth Or Consequences label owner Francesco Belfiore.

“The Whistleblower” kicks in with massively subdued drums, inflicting a subtle yet perceptible stirring effect from the get go. A slow paced construction, brooding melody and spiralling synths ramp up the tension.

On “Bystander Effect” the same gripping effect is easily recognizable, by the way of huge, ample percussion. An even more subdued and low tone ambiance settles in, channeling a late night dungeon atmosphere.

“Heated Tapes” bring a rave-like tinge to a hefty, thumping construction. Concrete industrial slabs come to mind and ringing metallic elements.

Kaiser takes on “Heated Tapes”, keeping the pounce factor at maximum. Adding his own flair, the Italian producer reveals a more playful, tribal-sounding take on the drums, with an equally touching effect.

Press Info:
Labelheads Rebar put forth the third installment of their various artist compilation, Batch Plant. Deep and dark atmospherics aggregate as main elements of the overall sound esthetic of the release, which comprises three original tracks and two remixes.

Muskovites Defaultman & Shapurra ring in the first track „Shiza“, a mysterious and ambiental slice with an experimental flavour. Playing upon the mono and stereo tonality, the 11 minute track’s sinister mood is enhanced by a sombre spoken word vocal.

Berliner transplant Luke Black offers up „Damp Hands“, a dark and gloomy dub techno exploration. Making headway in the same ominous sound zone as the first track, its subdued percussion and chopped up muted vocals make for an immersive yet stripped down juxtaposition.

Emerging with a restless bassline, Reformed Society’s „Solar Winds“ stands true to its title. Airy pads and spacious particles set up a highly galactic ambiance, conjuring up a whirlwind of techno distortion.

Pro-tez records co-founder Anton Kubikov takes on Defaultman & Shapurra’s „Shiza“, offering up a slightly less sinister yet still profoundly experimental take on the original.

The Rebar duo pick Luke Black’s „Damp Hands“ for a rework, injecting some “Tropical Heat” with extra punch in the bassline and turning it into a weird alternative of the initial piece.

Press Info:
„made of CONCRETE“ founders Andreas Pionty & fumée grise celebrate the label’s second anniversary with a special release that aligns their soundscape to palpable, material coordinates in a near- synesthetic output. Joining forces as Rebar, a moniker nodding to the label’s name itself, their debut EP consists of two original tracks and two remixes centered around geo-relevant, field recorded elements.

Named after a district in Dresdener Andreas Pionty’s hometown, opening track „Prohlis“ is a straightforward exploration of industrial elements with an impersonal, functional atmosphere. „Kaputt“ labelhead Coeter jumps in on the rework, adding more groove to the track through rhythmic distortion.

Breaking off from the homogenous structure of the first side, „Hansaviertel“ unfolds as a more traditional composition. Using live recordings from the eponymous district in Berliner fumée grise’s home base, an area well known for its modern architecture, the track evokes the same minimalist and cavernous ambiance as the area itself. Known for his upright techno antics, „Credo“ main man Alex Bau puts forth an atypical dub tech remix. Retaining the initial groove and spacious attire, we’re enveloped in a more laidback, minimalist interpretation of the original.

Press Info:
„made of CONCRETE“ open up their digital only series with a release by Italian soundshaper Kaiser, who delivers 4 dancefloor-ready tracks joined by one of the label’s previous alumni, Danny Kotz on remix duties.

Opening track „Sottotono“ takes no prisoners. A full-on raw techno dungeon vibe with a solid bassline sets the dynamic from the first bar on. Relentless yet subtle, it manages to achieve a perpetual state of movement.

„Mental Disorder“ comes about with a subversive groove consisting of a hollow percussive bassline coupled with high pitched wavy synths. Following in the same vein as the previous track, it maintains the dynamic creating a stable sound environment to build on.

Danny Kotz takes on the remix, creating a seemingly retroverse melody. Utilising grave bass pads and an unwinding groove lead, the result is a reconstruction that is as complementary as it is contrasting to the original.

„Eclipse“ kicks off with pounding bass doubled off with mesmerizing synth loops, setting a progressive atmosphere in motion. Wavy sequences further cement the overall dreamlike atmosphere, rendering a very immersive experience.

The final offering, aptly entitled „The Last Day iI Paradise“ carries out a very solemn and fluid sound esthetic through airy synths and laid back basses. It can easily be identified as the lightest track of the pack, rounding up the release in a positive tone.
