After three exciting and turbulent years, Crave Tapes is now releasing its sixth tape. The first split EP comes from Lorenzo Mancino from Berlin and the Hamburg based band Videotraum. For the A-side, Lorenzo contributes a quite melancholic track and stirs up the dark and gloomy autumn season in our hearts again – a particularly emotional song. Remixes with dancefloor vibes and clear potential for sweating come from Skelesys, XTR Human and sch_tsch. On the B-side, Videotraum sends us back to the 80s with two reissued and remastered tracks and a previously unreleased track. The cold sound of the two Hamburgers is unmistakable. Wounds are torn open with “Wehmut” and a certain world-weariness is expressed, whereas „Ventus“ has a more casual vibe. Quite diferent is „Ritual”, a song to roam the city, a black anthem for the night animals out there. A dancefloor killer in the form of a remix comes from Crave Tapes co-runner Unhealed.

Crave Tapes is delighted to welcome Termination_800 to the family, the young french talent debuting with Opfor Target.
The whole A-side is filled with post-midnight synth brutality with a nod of appreciation to the current happen ebm techno movement. Starting with a wild feature with XTR HUMAN on “Organization”. “Waiting Orders” takes hold on the end. Slow beats are coupled with a nasty snare, a cold synth and creepy vocal sounds.

Continue the journey on the B-side with the brilliance of “Mauler”. Military noises and rhythms, combined with a hammering kick and vicious synths and guitars characterise this great work. Alongside a remix of our co-runner and honed talent for creating vivid rhythm patterns, Unhealed’s ability to create bold and memorable bass lines is truly remarkable. Notausgang’s version is brimming with energy and is marked by a tasty dark vibe.

Crave Tapes is thrilled to announce the release of the debut album “Anfang vom Ende” by the Frankfurt based Band Babes of Enola Grey. Heavily influenced by dark post punk, the album grants not only a cold wave sound inspired by the music of the eighties but even a sweaty, wasted dancefloor feeling, a disillusioned no-future attitude and everything in between.

While songs like “Nachtschicht” or “Narben” with vague melodies and resigned lyrics dive deep into the mood of urban melancholy and “Stadt der Tauben” or “Sigil” provide an angry attitude. Others like “Ja” and “Homo Sapiens” push hard, confronting the listener with a paradox message of euphoria and cynicism, groove and frustration.

Completely recorded at home and produced by the two members of the band, the album testifies by its sound aesthetic to the love of imperfection and deviance which Deborah Vision (Bass, Synths, Vocals) and Fabian van Castorp (Guitar, Vocals) share.
