About Luca Eck
At just 18 years of age Luca Eck is one of the most promising talents rising from a new generation of Berlin-bred artists. Being classically trained since his early childhood, he started writing and producing electronic pop music at the age of 11, later transitioning into techno in 2017. He now aims to create a blend between the emotional appeal of popular music and the dark sound arsenal of industrial techno that paints an intimate portrait of his own experiences.

His track selections and productions feature a sound that is uncompromisingly hard, yet deeply emotional. Bright melodies hover above dystopian soundscapes and warping digital textures, a style rooted as much in nostalgia as it is futuristic. The tracks are mixed into highly energetic sets, taking you through an ever-ascending journey to brutal climaxes. Establishing a deep connection with the crowd, he is not afraid of taking unexpected turns in order to create a memorable atmosphere. In 2020 Luca Eck debuts at the renowned Griessmuehle club and starts touring internationally, frequently appearing at the acclaimed queer party DURCH. His first track “Digital Distance” was released independently in January, premiered via Amsterdam’s number one underground techno platform “Grounded.” with support by the likes of I Hate Models, Paula Temple, Gijensu & DYEN.

About Digital Distance
Written shortly after his first relationship came to an abrupt end, “Digital Distance” stems from times of hardship, brilliantly capturing the sound of a broken heart. He targets raw emotion in an increasingly artificial world, composing a study of heartache in the digital era. Apart from a monumental bass drum, the track is centered around a melody that is wistful, as if searching, yet not expecting to find. The grainy synth lead is surrounded by frantic percussion, harsh artefacts and thick layers of swirling noise. The release is completed with a remix by french producer Umbraid, featuring a longer trance-inspired reinterpretation.

We’re finally back with our digital series ! This time with pretty relentless and peak time bombs from Verschwender, Niki Istrefi, Hioll, Chlär and The Chronics

The german word „Verschwendung“ is literally translated into English with the word “Waste”. However it is a very specific type of waste. One where the process of wasting it has to involve burning an over-excessive amount compared to what you would’ve needed. This summarizes the dude that calls himself Verschwender pretty well.

Cutting his teeth as a selecta in the Drum’n’Bass scene of Frankfurt and then later migrating into the business of making bouncing, dry, Detroit influenced Techno slammers has given him the sort of experience that you don’t normally get without attending cooking school. However, be it behind the Decks or the 909 you cannot get Verschwender without some form of excess. His record bag holds several decades of bangers, his grin is wide enough to cure all forms of blues you might be having, and every turn of a knob is fueled by his clear and burning passion for electronic music. His mischievous demeanor is well-documented by now and his sets are known for leaving no two feet standing.

To summarize everything in the lightly changed immortal words of Tupac Shakur : “Ain’t no party like a Verschwender Party”.

Press Info:
Here we present Nendza of Leipzig, Germany for his debut EP on Prodigal Son, this is Inner Riot. Keeping our ear to the ground we came across an emerging young talent that packs some serious punches with his raucous riddums. It was one of those goose bump moments where you hear a demo and you just want to hear them out, in the rave! Tried & tested, they do the deed, we supply, to what the dancers demand. So get hooked on a hook line, as Nendza reels out the crisp cuts, and with this he’s far from done. Many eardrum melters to come…

Press Info:
The debut full-length collaboration between UK techno specialist Daniel Avery and acclaimed experimental musician Alessandro Cortini, ‘Illusion Of Time’ is a beguiling and unexpected collusion of two sounds. Beginning as a collaborative experiment before the pair had even met, Avery and Cortini then worked remotely and free of concept or deadline over several years. The result, finally completed when both artists were touring with Nine Inch Nails in 2018, is a quietly powerful album rooted in trust, process and experimentation.

Gently challenging the hypnotic ideals of ambience that already united the work of both artists, ‘Illusion of Time’ is in equal parts cryptic and inviting. Wistful and even memorable chords are boldly buried beneath blankets of soothing noise, as if asking listeners to lean in further. In other moments, Avery and Cortini achieve catharsis when working through bristling electronics more indebted to their heavier influences. More frequently, the soothing analogue textures that drive the album are allowed to linger alone, stripped back in order to conjure the moments of suspended bliss that give the album its title.

“It was very much a shared process”, notes Avery. “I would like to credit Alessandro with his belief that music has a life of its own, as well as the importance he places on the first take… That even something that may be considered out-of-step by some should be respected. Some of the tracks were borne simply out of a tiny synth part, or a bit of tape hiss that we had recorded. And that approach taught me a lot. It’s a record that’s been worked on hard, but not laboured over.”

“I was a big fan of Daniel’s, and his work always spoke to me in a certain way,” explains Cortini. “Then, when we started working together, it just clicked. It’s very hard to explain, but I can always hear the love in his work, and that is true on this record. After our first collaboration, we just kept sending each other music and maintaining that dialogue. Next thing you know, we’re sitting in a hotel room in New York and had finished the record in three hours.”
