Together with German techno magazine Groove, Berlin’s city magazine [030] Berlin and the booking agency Melt! Booking we will present you the R&S Records label night at Arena Club (Berlin) on the 18th November 2016.

About R&S Records

Without doubt one of the finest and most critically acclaimed record labels in Europe, the history of R&S stretches back to the early 1980s. Groundbreaking early releases from the likes of Aphex Twin, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Joey Beltram and many more laid the foundations for the label’s consistently stellar global reputation as a purveyor of cutting-edge techno.

Fast-forward to today and the label’s legacy remains as strong as ever. Even despite a prolonged hiatus in the early 2000s, R&S has since repositioned itself as a more eclectic, yet equally forward-thinking outlet for some of the world’s most celebrated contemporary musicians such as James Blake, Nicolas Jaar and Nils Frahm (via his ‘Nonkeen’ project), while simultaneously retaining its original dancefloor aesthetic through uncompromising releases from the likes of Paula Temple, Blawan, Pariah and Lakker, to name but a few.

Zusammen mit dem deutschen Techno-Magazin Groove, Berlin’s Stadtmagazin [030] Berlin und der Booking-Agentur Melt! Booking präsentieren wir die R&S Records Labelnacht im Arena Club (Berlin) welche am 18. November 2016 stattfinden wird.

R&S Records, gegründet in den frühen 80er Jahren, zählt zu den erfolgreichsten Labels in ganz Europa. Die späten 80er und frühen 90er ohne R&S? Schwer vorstellbar. Zu den ersten Releases zählten mitunter Aphex Twin, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig oder Derrick May, die dem belgischen Traditionslabel aus Genth zu internationaler Bekanntheit verhalfen. Doch R&S war und ist nicht nur Zuhause von Techno: Und so fanden unter anderem auch James Blake, Nicolas Jaar und Nils Frahm (Nonkeen) in R&S eine Plattform für ihre Musik. Nichtsdestotrotz bleibt das Label seinen Wurzeln treu und bleibt weiterhin geprägt von hochkarätigen Vertretern des Techno wie Paula Temple, Blawan oder Lakker.

Entropie is understood, to represent techno in it’s uncompromising form. This time we are proud to present you an Amsterdam based Techno duo, TWR72! These guys represent tough, stripped back and intricate pulsing rhythms with a big emphasis on groove. The duo holds the element of groove in utmost importance, and is one of the key elements of their own uprising Imprint, Float Records. Also on the bill, a talented guy from the UK, Progression. He already released powerful and functional tunes on labels like, MORD, Blueprint or Sleaze, and even more will follow. The local Support comes from our Resident’s Julius Henze and Alberty.
