Press Info:
st.raumen – gift

as crystal is ordered under force, st.raumen’s sound is born from infinite repetition in space; matter reduced to patterns in a void.

marco haas (t.raumschmiere) and st.john mantle first collaborated alongside synth pioneer ken macbeth, to bring chaos to the stage at berlin’s superbooth synthesizer festival, as the surreal fucketybuckety.

working as a duo under the name st.raumen since 2020, they have released 3 albums (ponyhof, struktur and hexenmotte) with a series of guest vocalists including gudrun gut (malaria!), joshua murphy (crime & the city solution), milan von kummer (ohne geld syndikat), dina brudi-pascal (local suicide) and joy tyson (snake milk).

their fourth album, gift, marks a turning point, with joy tyson stepping fully into the core of the project — inhabiting characters, channelling voices, and narrating fractured histories.

across eight tracks, gift becomes a unified body of work: possessed, intentional, and relentless.

the album moves with ceremonial weight — surreal, dreamlike, and darkly beautiful — balancing haunting cinematic atmospheres with raw, aggressive sound design.

gift is an album of timeless retro-futurist electronic music.

Blitzkrieg Pop

Press Info:
His kingdom: the underground.
His throne: the thunderous-PA on the flat bed monster truck.
His sceptre: a rivet bracelet.
His government declaration: stay anti.
His force: Gnarz and the 6/8 shufflebeat timing featured on his international hit tracks Monstertruckriver and The Game Is Not Over.

His previous album “Radio Blackout” crowned him as King of Gnarz*.

(Gnarz = a gnasty German word encapsulating the T.Raumschmiere sound).

But hey, that was back in 2003.

According to T.Raumschmiere, Blitzkrieg Pop is an punk-rock ambient record. There are many of the various details from the flora and fauna of his vast analogue equipment park, as well as rage and psychedelic bathed moods along with either catchy choruses of the boss rocker himself, or as balladesque appearances by his circle of friends-in-music, the T.Raumshmiere family. “I actually wanted to produce the loudest pop record in history. Less epic techno, more short and crisp songs“, says Raumschmiere.

Debates on what pop actually means are of no interest to Raumschmiere, whose concept has always been to deny having a concept. He has however, always known exactly what he is up to – sharing his wild desire for music with others, whether as T.Raumschmiere, as drummer of his punk rock band The Crack Whore Society, as label boss of his own imprint Shitkatapult or as promoter of various club events in Berlin. Although T.Raumschmiere has been famous for his hyper energetic, stage-breaking solo live shows, he has formed a three piece live unit featuring drummer Dirk Mielenhausen and bass player Andreas Paruschke along with sound engineer Allert Aalders as his stage band for all live concerts which premiered in London in May, performing solo as DJ only as a consequence. “It’s tougher work to play as a band of course, but it’s more rock’n’roll“, says Raumschmiere.

On Blitzkrieg Pop, T.Raumschmiere’s excellent vocals appear for the first time. On rockers like Sick Like Me, the first single from the album, and Blitzkrieg Pop his vocals are a revelation and the tracks truly rock. Big time. On A Mess the mic passes to his American colleague Quasimodo Jones, a troublemaker who also features as an arist Raumschmiere’s own label Shitkatapult. The future hit A Very Loud Lullaby featuring ex-Guano Apes singer Sandra Nasic pays a dedicated tribute to Stadium Rock history.

The album reveals the two sides of T.Raumschmiere. High octane rock and roll energy tracks for the live show and more ambient sounds for the ear and heart. Whilst recording the album T.Raumschmiere hid himself in his studio for a year to relentlessly study ’sounds with no beat’, to which tracks like Untitled, Rumpelkammer, Der Grottenholm or Patridiot bear witness on the album. Other tracks were given a different slant which inspired the females to sing. Diving In Whiskey features Berlin’s BPitchcontrol label boss, recording artist and DJ, Ellen Allien and 3 Minutes Happiness guest is French chanteuse Judith Juillerat. Judith had sent a demo to Shitkatapult which instantly grabbed Raumschmiere’s attention. “Judith also won a Björk cover song contest in aid of Unicef. Her first album will be released soon on Shitkatapult“, Raumschmiere proudly announces.

As a happy ending and for all those early fans of Raumschmiere, the king gets his hands dirty on monster tracks like All Systems Go! and An Army Of Watt once more just to prove that the force is still with him.

*A true punk rocker could, of course, never be crowned King due to his belief in anarchy.

Press Info:
The Monstertruckdriver returns for his debut full-length road trip…

T. Raumschmiere, the latest gunslinger signed to novamute, releases his new album, “Radio Blackout”, on 22nd September 2003.

Since 1997 T. Raumschmiere (the moniker is lifted from the William S. Burroughs short story, ‘The Dreamcops’, ‘Die Traumschmiere’ in his native German) has released music on a variety of labels, though predominantly on his own – the wonderfully named Shitkatapult, based in Berlin, but also for Cologne’s Kompakt, and Hefty Records (Chicago).

Without doubt, the T.Raumschmiere experience is best sampled live: for him the live arena is as crucial as the studio, his full- on ‘stay-anti’ motto confirming his punk based refusenik stance. He is a one man ‘electro-punk’ movement.

‘Radio Blackout’ remains conceptually and stylistically stubborn in its refusal to be pigeon-holed and reveals a sparkling diversity: punk, electro, hip-hop, rock and electronic atmospherics are all summarily despatched with such gusto, you begin to wonder what this enfant terrible will turn his machete to next.

‘I’m Not Deaf, I’m Ignoring You’ begins the chaos, belting corporate media conglomerates over the head with rock-hard hard metal riffage. Next up, and moving into the outside lane is the blistering single ‘Monstertruckdriver’, is it glam or punk or techno? Who cares? ‘Someday’ finds us locked in the same padded cell as Dabrye and Prefuse 73 with only a pinball machine for company.

For ‘The Game Is Not over’ Raumschmiere enlists Miss Kittin for punk vox, screaming a go-go, possibly her most unhinged guest performance to date. Digi-punk-rock. ‘Drown In the Sea While Watching The Stars’ is the evolving dramatic dream of melancholic junkies yearning for respite after ODing on downer beats. Next up: mosh to the tech-rock antics of future single ‘Rabaukendisco’ a pogo-meisterwork. ‘Wir Kinder Vom Bahnhof Strom’ is crack-house music for cable TV kids.

Glasgow-based female guest star MC Soom T. (courtesy of Monkeytribe) waxes lyrical and vocalises seductively in and old skool flavour on the gorgeous ‘A Million Brothers (Blah Blah Blah)’.

Next up, the stomping ‘Querstromzerspaner’ provides us with an eco-friendly method of desposing with open air Goa types and Chai sippers. Following this, the title track brings us back down to earth with the total shut down of all lines of communication, transmissions without receivers. A beautiful track.

To close the album, T.Raumschmiere signs off on the self descriptive “MuSick Boy’ in which a coarse and crackling red thread drags itself through the industrial biosphere back into a human being chained to machines. ‘U make me sick, I make MuSick.’

Samstag Nacht
(Club Version)

Press Info:
Berlin legends, T.Raumschmiere and Housemeister, have teamed up for their new release, ‘Samstag Nacht’, under their new collaborative project, T.Raumhouse. This new artistic duo stems from a friendship that spiralled over decades. They toured together from the 2000s and now aim to bring the 2000s nightlife back to Berlin. This new release encapsulates the 2000s through pulsating basslines, unearthly percussive samples, and signature vocoder vocals. ‘Samstag Nacht’ feels like a combination of retro, and spacey futuristic electro. The drums are gritty, and an element of underground punk lies within the track as the pace builds throughout. Supporting the track, is a new music video, also written and produced by T.Raumhouse, which features Joy Tyson, Livia Etelka & Rafi Sinn.

One half of T.Raumhouse is T.Raumschmiere originally hailing from Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to Berlin in 1998, where he renamed himself after a list of William S. Burrough characters and began to take the Berlin electronic music scene by storm after drumming in various bands in his home town. His releases consist of a range of genres from punk, electronic, and rock ‘n’ roll to minimalistic and ambient. The artistic journey of T.Raumschmiere is vast and stems from all areas in life, which makes it difficult to pin him down to one style! His iconic track, ‘Monstertruckdriver’, which was released on NovaMute in 2003, took off and established him as one of the key figures of the early 2000s Electroclash scene. Currently he keeps himself busy with his bands Margot Erkner and st.raumen.

The other half of T.Raumhouse is the German producer, DJ & label owner, Housemeister, who moved to Berlin at a young age, and witnessed the rise of the techno industry throughout reunification. He produced over 50 vinyl releases and eight albums under a range of iconic labels such as Detroit Underground, Boysnoize Records, BPitch Control, and his own, AYCB. On top of producing and running a label, Housemeister also toured the world, playing his music in over 50 countries. Authenticity is a characteristic which comes with the work of Housemeister; his tracks possess flair and energy, rarely following guidelines.

After possessing an array of gritty, hardcore, and bustling dancefloors in and around Berlin throughout the ‘90s, Housemeister is currently working on his new album which will be released in September 2024.

‘Samstag Nacht’ will be released under the label Iptamenos Discos who compliment the artistic duo of T.Raumhouse’s through creativity, authenticity and inventiveness. The label, Iptamenos Discos, have been running since 2021 and were founded by the berlin-based duo Local Suicide. The labels music ranges between genres such as New Wave, dark disco, EBM, and techno, and examples of their releases fall under artists such as Boys’ Short, Dina Summer, Curses, Skelesys and Wiener Planquadrat.

Press Info:
in may 2023, st.raumen will present their latest project – hexenmotte – six new slabs of cinematic heavy electronics, enfused with melancholia and dark symbolism.

building on 2022’s album “struktur”, “hexenmotte” delves deeper into themes of absurdity and the frailty of the human condition and features guest vocals from the incredible joshua murphy, milan von kummer, local suicide and joy tyson.

abrasive, analogue rhythms and complex layered tones and textures are filtered through abused and overloaded equipment, giving hexenmotte a dense, almost filmic quality and evoking images of ritual, desolation and struggle.

hexenmotte will be released at http://www.straumenmusic.com on the 12th may 2023 to co-incide with the band’s 3rd performance at superbooth 23 in berlin.

a limited edition 10” lathe cut album will be created for the occasion and will be available in addition to the usual digital downloads.
