Press Info (English):
There is a purpose behind ambient music: it is utility music. Brian Eno made that clear once and for all with ‘Music for Airports’ – the utilitarian nature of this music can already be found in the title. But way before that, in 1920, Erik Satie composed ‘Musique d’ameublement’ – furniture music. Satie created true background music as a reaction against the misuse of classical music as a carpet of sound. The purpose of his furniture music was also to bridge the awkward gaps in conversation in social situations. In turn, Eno’s airport music is meant to serve as background music while sounding interesting enough for listeners to become absorbed. If we go by Eno’s definition, the music on T.RAUMSCHMIERE’s new album is not ambient. Although – or in fact, because – each individual track on this album immediately and effortlessly generates atmospheres, it is impossible not to be drawn in. T.RAUMSCHMIERE sucks the listener into the perceptible endlessness of his pulsating sounds, even though the music does not actually expect anything from the listener. It is not demanding, it does not sound lofty or ethereal. It is in constant movement and evolution while sounding grounded at the same time. The tracks are not weightless; they have body.

A darkly beating pulse works like a machine through the surging pads of ‘Dampfer.’ Synths drone languidly on ‘Anker.’ T.RAUMSCHMIERE deftly manages to avoid succumbing to the kitsch that often arises from these kinds of sounds. ‘Grotznogg’ has an inner stillness within the rustling and scattered clattering and clanging. ‘Zwischenstopp’ provides the perfect soundtrack for a submarine ride, complete with depth sounder and an undercurrent of anxiety. The track ‘007’ is a post-industrial masterpiece – warm, heavy, and latently threatening. And the list goes on.

Clearly a new meaning of the term ambient is needed to describe the music on this album more accurately. It is music that never sounds deliberate yet at the same time is so compelling, which might have something to do with the fact that SHITKATAPULT label founder Marco Haas aka T.RAUMSCHMIERE is the one behind it. As T.RAUMSCHMIERE, Haas produces a sound with influences ranging from bass music and punk rock to industrial; the names of his records speak best for themselves: Monstertruckdriver, Sick Like Me, I Tank U… everyone knows what the deal is here. It is only logical that his new album is just called ‘T.RAUMSCHMIERE.’ This record is certainly an excellent lubricant for dreams.

Haas is known for his take-no-prisoners approach to his live sets, which feature distorted beats, grueling basses, and steep descents. Now for the flipside, the negative image of the sound that made T.RAUMSCHMIERE famous, the sound that has allowed us to get closer to the understanding of this magic ambient music. The shadow of T.RAUMSCHMIERE does not come in with massive beats and basses, yet it is so imposing and so dark that it seems within our grasp.

In addition to his duties as label manager, musician, and DJ, Haas has also worked as a producer for other artists such as Dieter Meier, Fraktus, Barbara Morgenstern, Das Bierbeben, and Ofrin over the past few years. The new album by Shrubbn!!, his collaboration with Ulli Bomans, will also be released on Shitkatapult.

Born under a bad sign…
SHITPARADE label owners and best friends DANIEL METEO & T.RAUMSCHMIERE finally teamed up in the studio to bring birth to their first release as dad and dad.

PARADE 10.0 under the moniker D.REAMTEAM was initially planned to celebrate the 10th edition of the annual Berlin club festival by the chaotic label that takes place on the 13th of july, on Dr. Motte´s original birthday.

Musicwise this 12” kind kicks off surprisingly soft flowing with a 7 minute club trip without any bassdrum. Clack Clack Clack Clack. PULT is waving afterhour dj food for the drug crowd. B side opener KATA can be translated to a reverse varation of the same material but on a fat ass shuffle beat. B side closing tune SHIT could be described as typical rock techno opera a la T.RAUMSCHMIERE but with this METEO touch

Press Info:
SHRUBBN!! have been around for a cool 15 years … and that’s exactly how long we have been waiting for this particular beauty: their debut album. After all, buddies Ulli Bormans (aka SCHIERES) and Marco Haas (aka T.RAUMSCHMIERE) prefered to sling out the odd SHRUBBN!! track on different, almost forgotten labels whenever they felt like getting it together. Now, the duo surprise and delight us with a veritable gem of a record. Their long distance debut ECHOS follows an upbeat scientific credo of art for text. Pushing the computer aside, Ulli and Marco crafted fourteen pulsating, deep and dubby tracks caught up between ambient and beats – a thick, full sound, a call of the deep with plenty of passion for reverb and bass.

Numbering the tracks (instead of real titles) simply made sense as they follow the logic of a meandering session or, rather, a true exploration, executed with plenty of exactitude. And this time around, it’s all in the detail, starting with the release format: for ECHOS, SHRUBBN!! say no to the prevalent CD format in favour of a truly stunning vinyl edition – a pleasure for both ears and eyes.

Together with Berlin video experts TRANSFORMA, the duo also came up with a clever live concept that translates SHRUBBN!!’s music to imagery (for a quick glimpse of this aesthetic tour de force, take a peek at TRANSFORMA’s crisp cover art). And the latter have been busy carving their own niche in the world of art – slow and steady, yet entirely uncompromising – with works ranging from APPARAT’s stunning club set to their own music film SYNKEN and countless of concepts or performances for landmark festivals like Club Transmediale. Backed by this inspired gang, SHRUBBN!! now give us an overall oeuvre of darkest imagery and heavy sounds bathed in ominous crashing waves.

P. S.: Look out for their one-sided pre-release 12” of ECHOS (Shitkatapult) remixed by THE ORB – it’s a full-force adventure of a track based on SHRUBBN!!’s entire album, courtesy of ALEX PATERSON and THOMAS FEHLMANN.

Press Info :
T. RAUMSCHMIERE (Berlin). In the 90’s, industrial, punk rock and hardcore gave Marco Haas (aka T.Raumschmiere) his first musical direction. In 2003, he was releasing the famous “Monstertruckdriver”, and “The Game Is Not Over (feat. Miss Kittin)” ; the same year, his live and his
own label Shitkatapult were listed in several Reader Poll Top 10s. This was followed by remixes for especially the prestigious Dave Gahan (singer of Depeche Mode, editor’s note) and Goldfrapp. After touring continuously since 2003, Raumschmiere is releasing his next Ep, called “The Rave Is On” (TR.I.O.) in November 2010 on the record label from Bordeaux Boxon Records.

The “T.R.I.O.” EP has three electro tracks : “The Rave Is On”, “Entertain Me”, and “Duster”. Every music addict will be happy with this pack, as the two first ones have been composed especialy for the dancefloor, and “Duster” being more experimental. T.Raumschmiere, who is a really big name on the electronic music scene, is coming back with these three new and awesome productions, each track being a real piece of art. Julien Minet (Boxon owner, editor’s note) is a long time fan of T.Raumschmiere’s work; then Marco and Julien got along really well with each other (that was back in 2009, in France, during the Free Music Festival in Montendre, and at the Travesti Monsters party at Bikini in Toulouse, editor’s note); so it became obvious for them to concretize this project, and we thanks them a lot ! To listen, and listen again : you will be addicted a long time to these tracks…

digital release also has sometimes the name “T.R.I.O & Remixes”
