Press Info:
Berlin-born artist Rosa Anschütz, known for her spellbinding vocal work in the electronic underground, announces the release of her new album Sabbatical, arriving September 26, 2025 via cult label Heartworm Press. Marking her first international release outside of Germany, Sabbatical is an ambitious 14-track statement over a decade in the making… a record of both haunting minimalism and visionary depth.

Swapping pulsing club beats for a raw, cinematic intimacy, Anschütz channels the spectral beauty of Moon Pix-era Cat Power, the mystique of Nico, and the experimental clarity of Björk and Dead Can Dance. The stripped-back arrangement foregrounds Anschütz’s arresting voice, carrying lyrics that feel both prophetic and personal.

With Sabbatical, Rosa Anschütz emerges as one of the most compelling avant-garde voices of her generation… an artist unafraid to dismantle genre, geography, or expectation. The album is a bold reinvention and a testament to the patience and precision of a singular creative vision.

Press Info:
Interior, to be released on 23rd of February 2024, is Rosa Anschütz’s most introspective and vulnerable album to date; an insightful and powerfully crafted album which dives within but also urges to turn to the outside. The record operates as a meditative sonic and lyrical journey across genres, with an analog dark-romanticism rooted in the melancholia of neo-folk, the elegance and solemness of modern classic and the grace and baroque of sacred music. It is both an introspection, an “enhancement of one’s thoughts” as she phrases it, and a quest for harmonious living.

The artist’s observations of interiors – the ones lying within herself, the ones resulting from her invention and imagination, the ones imposed onto her and inherited – lead her to touch on the broader possibility of cohesion with natural and spiritual elements, and of reconciliation with the self and what is lodged and hidden within it. What paths can one take to express what lies inside of them?

Rosa Anschütz is a twenty-six-year-old singer-songwriter and artist based in Berlin, Germany. Seeking to transform daily observations and interrogations into hauntingly beautiful and crafted records, her poetic and sharp lyrics oscillate between singing and spoken words in distinctively emotionally driven combinations of electronic music and analog instruments. Her 2019 EP Rigid was followed by two AC produced Albums Votive and Goldener Strom.

“I’ve been losing the faith to see,” sings Rosa on By Gaining Many Somethings, the opening track of Interior. Along the nine tracks of the record, this faith is looked for within the difficult lessons of heartbreak, natural beauty, family ghosts, the mysticism of spirituality. It is partly found in the traverse flute, the trumpet and the organ. The instruments emphasize Anschütz’s cold and delicate singing and reciting, the entirely analog composition of Interior setting Rosa’s voice and lyrics as the genuine backbone of the album. “We wanted to give more space to the voice than we ever did,” say Rosa and her long-term producer Jan Wagner, “to have as little limitations as possible”. Entirely produced within Hans Joachim Irmlers Faust Studio in Scheer and released on Klangbad, Interior is thus a profound and thought-provoking record, whose distinctive prose is rooted in the scenic rugged landscapes, gothic castles and unspoilt wilderness of folklore and the High Lands.

As a transmedia artist, Rosa always ensures to provide a visual frame to her pro- jects. For Interior, she has stitched thousands of sequins into nine different pieces all part of a single curtain she poses in front of for the cover of the album. She stares here into the eyes of those looking at and listening to her, clad in a sunflower embroidered shirt.

Interiors are subjective – the further or the closer one stands to what they are observing, the different the image they are receiving. Interior, the third solo album of Rosa Anschütz, is therefore an intimate and complex journey into beauty and vulnerability. It is a mesmerizing, ceremonious album, crafted with strength and assurance to gently welcome and challenge its listener.

It establishes Rosa Anschütz as a stunningly talented artist, poet and singer-songwriter, whose sharpness gives her the courage to look at what lies within herself to then dare you to look at what she is, at last, observing.

Press Info:
Rosa Anschütz is set to release Interior EP via Klangbad on November 24th, which serves as a prelude to her most introspective and vulnerable album to date, coming out on February 23rd, 2024.

Interior EP is an insightful and powerfully crafted work which dives within but also urges to turn to the outside.

“By Gaining Many Somethings,” delves into themes of loss, heartbreak, and the necessary endings that pave the way for new opportunities in life. It invites us to explore different dimensions of time, spaces, and self-discovery.

Second track, “Rain Upon God’s Hill,” is a collaboration with Joshua Ben Joseph, whose striking voice immediately captured Anschütz’s attention. The song reflects the endurance required in certain relationships, delving into the layers of personality shared in those connections and the intriguing question of inheriting character traits or faiths.

Lastly, “My Heart‘s In The Highlands” is an adaptation of Robert Burns’ original text. Anschütz finds something profound in old folk music, a cultural treasure passed down through generations. While she may not have grown up in the Highlands, her dreams are filled with the captivating beauty of that landscape, making her yearn to experience it firsthand one day.

The central theme of the EP and the forthcoming album, Interior, holds varying possibilities of interpretations. One’s proximity to the subject of their observation, results in distinct perceptions of the image.

Goldener Strom
(Gudrun Gut Douru Remix)

02.
Peak
(Dollkraut Remix)

Press Info:
Continuing the series of coveted remix packages based around her highly acclaimed album Goldener Strom, Rosa Anschütz presents two distinct inversions from Dollkraut and Gudrun Gut. Goldener Strom Remixes 3 is out digitally 21st April via BPitch.

Goldener Strom further consolidated Rosa Anschütz’s position as one of the most crucial artists of the moment. For this ongoing remix series, she invites respected figures from a wide range of genres, expanding the album into uncharted territories.

First up, Dollkraut provides a rework of the third single from the album, ‘Peak’. Fusing the original into something entirely new, the Dutch producer inverts Rosa’s melodies into an electro-inspired dose of broken beats and fuzzy distortion. Having released previously under his DJ Europarking alias on BPitch’s sub label UFO Inc, Dollkraut morphs Rosa’s vocals almost beyond recognition, subverting them into melodic leads that levitate over a gritty percussive framework.

A pioneering musical figure in Germany and far beyond, Gudrun Gut’s productions draw upon decades of genre synthesis. From early industrial and post-punk through to current forms of techno, via alternative pop and more, her breadth of musical sensibility is governed by an activist spirit and an innate curiosity for new forms. Having launched her musical endeavours in 80s Berlin, Gudrun cut her teeth as a founding member of legendary acts such as Einstürzende Neubauten, MALARIA! and MATADOR amongst others. She has gone on to build a legacy that has involved explorations of the most niche sonic aesthetics alongside career achievements of vast proportions, including but not limited to launching her own label and artist support network Monika Enterprise, hosting a radio show on Radio Eins from 1997-2012, and curating her own festival. Activist, rebel, organiser…her role as a seminal figure in the world of experimental music over the past four decades is undisputed. For her remix of the title track, Gudrun crafts a sparse, atmospheric take on the original, weaving touches of dark wave and industrial minimalism into an aesthetic entirely her own.

Press Info:
As the impact of Goldener Strom, Rosa Anschütz’s debut LP for BPitch, continues to be felt far and wide, we bring you the second instalment from the remixes package. This two-track release contains compelling reinterpretations from Aasthma and Umfang. Both artists are renowned for their maverick take on electronic music, and their reworks pay homage to the original works in unique style.

Aasthma takes a considered approach with his remix of ‘Sold Out’, composing a downtempo cut that honours the original vocal with a highly emotive instrumental. Sombre drones drive the low end, while a solitary string amplifies the emotional power of this stirring rework.

On the flip, Umfang channels her distinct sound into a spacious and tempered revision of ‘Polished’. Rosa’s vocals rever- berate through this stripped back cut. Subdued drums and bass give the vocals plenty of breathing space on a carefully poised composition that complements Aasthma’s rework.
