WE ARE ALL FOR COLOMBIA!

Since April 2021 the people of Colombia have been protesting peacefully against corruption and unfairness from their government entities. These protests have been permeated and violated by terrible police brutality. There have been documented disappearances of hundreds of people, killings of civilians by police forces, sexual assaults made by members of the police, and thousands of injured victims according to the non-governmental organization ONG Temblores, who have been documenting the situation.

The compilation “100 Years Of Colombia” brings the Techno scene together to make attention and awareness of what’s happening in Colombia, with a hope for a better future. All the income from the compilation will be donated to charity organisations across Colombia.

ColPaz is a NGO that deals with current social development issues in Colombia, and also intermediates support towards third party organisations in defense to civil human rights against excessive police abuse. They are facilitating our contact with several organisations across Colombia to receive the funds we will raise with this compilation, including: Desaparicion forzada , Movice (Movimento Nacional de Víctimas de Crímenes de Estado) and Red Juridica Feminista, amongst others to be confirmed.

SOS Colombia V/A Part II “In absence and violence of the state. People unite and self-organize” is a collective cry of the electronic music community to denounce the police brutality in Colombia given in the protests since 28th of April and raise awareness about the danger of social leaders and activists working towards defending human rights. Up until today there has been registered by the NGO Temblores: 2905 cases of police brutality, 43 cases of murder, 26 cases of sexual abuse. This compillation continues the campaign to raise funds for Ngos working for the defense of human rights and self-organised initiatives. We want to support, especially with the income of this release, to self organized initiatives as independent journalism and NGOs registering cases of police violence such as:

First contact is a common science fiction theme about the first meeting between humans and extraterrestrial life. The theme allows authors to explore a variety of philosophical concepts by adapting the anthropological topic of first contact to extraterrestrial cultures. But then what are the Topics of a possible “Second Contact”? What would have happened to civilization if the extraterrestrial life force returns. Are they ready to greet it?

In this case, the second contact comes in the form of SEELEN. Labelhead and part-time intergalactic traveller Janein’s second full EP on the Imprint. And he hasn’t returned to take prisoners.

The Titletrack takes you for a wild ride from second one. A warbling, acidic texture marks the foundation of what is an absolutely destructive and fiery cut. One of Janein’s heaviest percussion tracks to date takes the mood to an absolute frenzy while the acid-textures and metallic Chords can almost singe your eyebrows off, if you get too close to the speaker.

In comparison Gaja tones it down somewhat with mellower synths and an absolutely funky Bassline. But do not underestimate this track in comparison to Kobald M. This track will ensnare you into it’s hypnotic chokehold. It is the kind of cut you can play in any situation and not a single person will leave the dancefloor.

Meeting the Alien for a Parlay, translating it’s transmissions on this record are musical linguists Somewhen and Peryl.

While Somewhen has leaned into Kobald M’s destructive potential, adding a chaotic, out-for-madness kind of energy, that is sure to bring insanity to any warehouse, Peryl, known for his cathartic breakbeat excursions, has absolutely deconstructed Gaja making it into a track that sounds like the moment an unkown flying object enters the atmosphere of earth.

Fiedel launches SUPER SOUND TOOL, a series that puts BIG SOUND before BIG NAMES. SUPER SOUND TOOL, the new FIEDEL II sub label, is dedicated to perfectly crafted, yet playful, techno tracks for those DJs who still mix vinyl in the club.

All tracks are dance floor approved.

This series targets die-hard vinyl fans and is devoted to the kind of wax that Fiedel wishes he’d find more often when digging in a record store himself.

All lathes are carefully executed in 45 rpm in order to guarantee both maximal loudness and optimal sound quality. The fact that the grooves are cut wider than they would be for a standard 33 rpm 4-tracker makes it possible to deliver the music at a higher volume.

This process improves the signal-to-noise ratio while practically eliminating background noise. Another advantage of producing records with the method used to cut MAXI SINGLES back in the days is that it provides an enhanced frequency range, as well as greater dynamics – a big advantage both for vinyl DJs and audiophiles.

Besides the technical aspects, releasing tracks as 45 rpm Maxis makes it possible to press longer numbers, as the complete surface of the record is used just for one track.

Similarly to the various tools in a toolbox having different purposes, the SUPER SOUND TOOL series features different styles of techno that cater for the raver’s needs on the dance floor.
