Presence Past Progressive is the second joint album by Fractal Void, the collaboration between BORGBORG and Marcus Scheltinga.

Emerging from a process oriented around intuition, repetition, and decay, the album draws from the vocabularies of electronic rhythm such as leftfield breaks and techno, jazz improvisation and fragmented signal processing. Across its compositions, the album explores the fluidity of time as both experience and construct. The title refers to a tense that does not formally exist, yet intuitively resonates: something that was happening, is still echoing, and may yet persist. This temporal ambiguity is mirrored in the music; at once mechanical and organic, fractured and continuous.

Each piece, from the charged restraint of “Lear” to the powerful softness of “Dewdrops on Daisies”, evokes states of presence within transition.

The result is a document of motion without destination – auditory traces of thought in flux.

marco haas (t.raumschmiere) and st.john mantle first collaborated alongside synth pioneer ken macbeth, to bring chaos to the stage at berlin’s superbooth synthesizer festival, as the surreal fucketybuckety.

working as a duo under the name st.raumen since 2020, they have released 3 albums (ponyhof, struktur and hexenmotte) with a series of guest vocalists including gudrun gut (malaria!), joshua murphy (crime & the city solution), milan von kummer (ohne geld syndikat), dina brudi-pascal (local suicide) and joy tyson (snake milk).

their fourth album, gift, marks a turning point, with joy tyson stepping fully into the core of the project — inhabiting characters, channelling voices, and narrating fractured histories.
