“JuNe plays CMRK”

JuNe About Her Choice:
As is typical for the ABC Plays XYZ mix series, the focus is placed on either a single artist or a label – rather than a classic mixset featuring various labels or well-known names.

For this set, I decided to exclusively play tracks by a young, talented, and still relatively unknown techno producer and DJ from Vilnius, Lithuania. I had already played some of his tracks in earlier techno sets. Recently, when I included one of his tracks again in my set for HÖR, it led to personal contact. His track – together with others – shaped the steady build-up and energy flow of the set. He was happy to hear his track featured, which led to a direct exchange between us.

His music combines driving techno elements with hypnotic soundscapes and offers a dynamic range with occasional melodic moments. This makes the set vivid and varied, despite its mono-artist focus. Many of his releases have appeared on various labels, showcasing how versatile and relevant his sound already is. His most recent release, “Caved”, just came out on the label Abstraction.

“Estimulo plays Force Inc. Music”

Estimulo About His Choice:
Force Inc. is THE label in my record collection that I have the most records from – which should already reflect its relevance for me.

Music released by Force Inc or one of their sublabels has accompanied me from the early 90s rave/tekkno (T’N’I’s “Low Mass” EP being an especially significant milestone) up to the microhouse era of the early to mid 00s.

As different as these seemingly opposing poles of the techno spectrum may seem on first listen, the factor “quality” has always held up there as i hope it holds together this mix!
