Press Info:
NX1, Isolated Lines, Shawn O’Sullivan, Rommek and Israel Vines remix S.A.F.’s ‘The Hunter’ on Ravage Black Series.

Dutch imprint and management house Ravage have been going from strength to strength since S.A.F’s inaugural release on their Black Series nearly three years ago. Ravage are widely known within Amsterdam for putting on parties around the Dutch capital inviting the likes Perc, Truss, Pariah, Sunil Sharpe and Bleaching Agent, but are more recently recognized for their agency and imprint representing and releasing music from the likes of Binny, Isolated Lines, Głós, Induction, Hadone, Forward Strategy Group, Zadig, In Aeternam Vale, Dimi Angélis, Tadeo and many more.

Samot and Surit who together make up NX1, known for releases on their self-titled imprint, Modularz and Semantica Records get things rolling with their remix of ‘2 Coke Bottles’ delivering hard-hitting percussion metallic synth shrills and soaring modulations. Swiss producer and SBIRE co-founder, Isolated Lines is next up with a ‘Barney & Ted’ remix deploying machine-like modulations, heavy-duty kick drums and winding oscillations.

New York based DJ and producer, Shawn O’Sullivan a member of Civil Duty and 4000PPM then offers sharp synth arrangements, hypnotic pads and a sturdy drum beat in his remix of ‘A Letter About a Sinking Depression’ before Rommek, who has releases on Blueprint, Methodical and Leyla Records provides an atmospheric remix of ‘Unaccepted Perseverance’ that fuses alleviating pads, syncopated grooves and otherworldly aesthetics throughout.

The digital package also features a fifth remix from Eye Teeth artist Israel Vines entitled ‘The Three’ as stabbing chords and reverberating bass bounce delicately off the sturdy yet vibrant kicks.

Kicking off this compilation is Samot, also known as one half of NX1, who produced a heavy, hypnotic techno piece. Hadone, a familiar face to the label, did what he does best: produce relentless techno with an impeccable schwung. Following is Ekserd, a friend of the label who brought us an old-school rave-oriented track. Closing things off is Ravage mainstay Binny with the track Rise. A track you’d expect from this Liverpool based artist; groovy and functional.

Press Info:
Following Induction’s Liturgical Hymns Remixes EP, Ravage is proud to announce the next release on their White Series. It’s a various artists release, containing tracks produced by artists who are very close to the label. Hence, it’s title: Familiar Affairs.

A1. sees the return of Forward Strategy Group, with their track Pet a Burning Dog. It’s hard not to think ‘Sandwell District’ when first laying ear on this minimalistic beauty. Bleeps, screeches and haunting synth-work with some outstanding rhythm laying underneath. Following on A2 we have Unbalance picking up the pace with his track Hard Solutions; a track very true to its name. Atmospheric, yet with a healthy dose of punch.

Kicking off his favourite position on the record, on B1 we’ve got Dutch techno legend Dimi Angélis. He produced a self-proclaimed “Acid Bomb” which goes by the name of Tarazed. We dare you not to dance when this one hits the floor. Closing off the EP is Liverpool based artist Binny, who produced the wobbly-banger Relax. Proper techno from a man of whom you’d expect this kind of sound.

Liturgical Hymns Remixes EP

Label:
Ravage (White Series)

Cat#:
RWS004

Release Date:
20th April 2018

Format:
12″ & digital

Tracklist:

(Zadig Remix)

(Birth Of Frequency Remix)

B1)
Oxygen Swamp
(As Patria Remix)

B2)
Back In My Amnesis
(Samuli Kemppi Remix)

B3)
Theological Explanation
(Tadeo Remix)

Press Info:
Induction’s Remix EP can be considered as a true Ravage family affair. The EP starts and ends with takes on Theological Explanation; Tadeo delivers an hypnotic version with a lot of drive, and – it may sound counterintuitive – Zadig dives into the deep as well, with an outstanding, euphoric and ethereal mix. Both tracks turn out to be quite true-to-self reworks of the offbeat original. On A2, Birth of Frequency altered the ambient intro Epitrachelion into a soft, melodic, functional electro track that oozes refinement and a bit nostalgic comfort.

The B-side starts with As Patria’s signature sound, giving a new interpretation to a previously unreleased production called Oxygen Swamp. Melancholic hisses, softly rattling hats and light synth-work all contribute to the overall feeling of their remix. The same goes for Samuli Kemppi, who took on Back in my Amnesia, giving it the ghetto-house-treatment, indulged with rave influences.

Press Info:
For the second release on their Black Series, Ravage invited electronic music veterans Al Matthews and Patrick Walker to team up under their Forward Strategy Group moniker. The last release of these legends was quite a few years ago, but the wait was worth it. Their East Port Rangers EP kicks-off with Nine and One, a hypnotic, heavy-loaded stomper containing some uplifting, loopy vocals. Following is the most minimalistic track of the EP, Lisp Your Way, yet it still has a lot of substantial punch and lash to it.

The B-side starts off with heavy broken beats, combined with a classic rave sound, taking the listener back to the blistering sound of the nineties. Finally, the EP oozes down with the track In Abeyance; a haunting, down-tempo track with a melody to send shivers down your spine, which could be deemed a real creeper.
