Press Info:
UK-born producer Luke Standing aka Blue Hour has made a considerable impact since his emergence in 2013. A move from Bristol to Berlin precipitated a run of stellar self-released EPs that immediately won him an ardent following among techno’s most revered DJs for a sound that offered a fresh takes on classic techno and electronica, while always maintaining a supreme dancefloor functionality. Among those fans was Function, who included an exclusive track from Standing in his Berghain 07 mix and part I of its accompanying 12-inches.

Now Standing’s self-titled outlet launches a new remix series, calling on some of those aforementioned fans to offer their own takes on a trio of the standout tracks from his label’s first five releases. Ostgut resident Answer Code Request applies the driving hybrid techno-bass approach that has made him one of Berghain’s brightest stars to Blue Hour 002 title cut Axis Motive; Paris-based Tresor resident offers an ethereal take that focuses on Blue Hour 003’s Reference 97’s more hypnotic elements; and Ostgut Ton’s Steffi is perfectly matched to the third EP’s Moments, employing her signature sound that similarly offers a timeless anthemic quality to the original.

Unforeseen
(Fixmer’s Live Version)

Press Info:
Succeeding his profound and forward-thinking album ‘Depth Charged’ which was revealed last February, Terence Fixmer returns with ‘Depth Charged Remixed’ featuring Ostgut Ton’s Answer Code Request and UK’s underground techno hero Steve Bicknell.

‘Elevation’, originally the final track of the album, emotional and reflective, is kicked up a notch by ACR’s Patrick Gräser by adding ponderous drum patterns making it perfect for the floor. Conversely, Steve Bicknell takes on ‘Unforeseen’. With it’s fast paced rolling bass it is now put into top gear shivering with feverish reverberations.

To compliment each variation, included on the EP are Fixmer’s own live versions that have energetically filled dance floors throughout his tour.

Press Info:
KEY Vinyl don their scouting caps once again for another split EP featuring fledgling and debuting talents. First up is The Plant Worker. This French DJ and producer isn’t exactly new to the game, but as The Plant Worker he’s been slowly journeying down harder, rawer trajectories—as the name may suggest. With a trio of EPs out already, “Iota 001” and “Iota 002” continues his exploration into purer techno forms with two cuts of deep, probing, loopy floor material.

Then on the flip, KEY Vinyl unveil the first works from masked newcomer Transient X4. “Lost In Perceptions” is a jangling sic fi trip to techno’s bleak and pitch-black periphery, whilst “Ways To Space” sends its cosmic theme off for a spell in the basement, coming out as a monstrous peak-time send off.
