2015 brought the trilogy of the dancer to Ressort. Now the label’s core artists each remix their tracks in circles.

While all of them aim for the dancefloor, Ressort’s core artists could not sound more diverse. Ekserd and Border One aim for the raw, the groovy and the pure while Array Access and Głós lose themselves more and more in sound design and dreaminess. Since the many aspects of art and music form a cycle of ying and yang, each artist shows the other an interpretation of what he might have missed before.

Be it a complete stomper or a light-absorbing epos, a deep and groovy House and Techno hybrid or a journey into the depths of space: Every artist made one of the well-known tracks released on previous EPs his own. It’s a very colourful package that bares every moment the label tried to cover in it’s series before.

Tim Wright has been operating at the fringes of the electronic music scene since the early 90s. Narrowly avoiding a relationship with Warp Records by missing the train to Sheffield in 1992, he signed a multi-album contract with the disaster prone General Production Recordings as GERM in 1993. A flurry of critically acclaimed releases ensued before GPR collapsed and Tim’s career was halted while he struggled to wriggle free. Deep bass driven anarcho-house techno project Tube Jerk was to rise from the ashes of GERM. Albums for PIAS and Edinburgh’s Sativae Recordings ensued and as Tube Jerk, Tim performed live at clubs and festivals all over the world, but mainly in Germany. A remix of Cristian Vogel’s Whipaspank brought him to the attention of Mute Records who subsequently released his first material under his own name.

He is currently writing film music for cult Russian horror director Andrey Iskanov and works as a composer with celebrated Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara with major pieces recently performed by the Ballet de L’Opera de Paris and Gothenburg Opera Dance company.

Craig Richards The Nothing Special returns with TNS014 a release from Tim Wright a musician, composer and video artist based in York. He is perhaps best known as a producer of unusual electronic dance music released under his own name and the pseudonym Tube Jerk. His music has been released on labels in the field including Tresor, Mute/Novamute, Sativae and GPR.

Tim also works for the Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara as a composer and sound designer. His compositions for Teshigawara include the original music for metamorphosis (2014), a commission for Göteborgsoperans Danskompani, Sweden; Darkness Is Hiding Black Horses (2013) for the ballet de l’opera de paris, France; and compositions for installations at the Yokohama Triennale 2008, the Shanghai Zendai museum of modern art and the Ikon gallery in Birmingham.
