A virtuozo of late-night dance-inducing techno frenzies in steamy clubs, Oliver Deutschmann is back with his second releasee on ‚made of Concrete‘, aptly entitled ‘School Of Hard Floors’.

Named after dancefloors in Berlin’s stalwart clubs, this release kicks off with ‘Globus’, a mesmerizing slice of whirlwind zippy techno with dark vocals and a contagious bassline. ‘Oben’ channels spacious, acid-tinged pads with hints of murky chants into a construction that’s great for creating and sustaining a surreal stretch of enigmatic tension. The last original track of the offering, ‘Gate’ tunnels through an obscure sound artery, accented with scintillating synth bleeps gradually radiating into a burgeoning, light-leak reminiscing breakdown.

Hosts Rebar choose ‘Oben’, arguably the darkest track on the release for the remix treatment, adding swelling, arpeggiated glitched out pads that give the track a larger-than-life, bigger-than-the-room feel that captivates instantly.

The founder of Subtyl – one of the artist collectives responsible for Paris’ rave renaissance – has gathered an army for high-pressure techno: underage KAOS affiliate u.r.trax, trance veteran Voiski, Cassie Raptor, K.U.S.S and Munsinger.

Physical to their core, these 5 tracks are made to disrupt the effects of social distancing. “Miroir” opens up with u.r.trax’ iconic voice, hammering a quote from Nietzsche (who said techno can’t be smart?) on a production that reminds a faster, harder take on early 2000’s electroclash. On “Invisible Fire”, a mind-bending synths part blurs the line between hard techno and trance, while the flip side offers a selection of forward-thinking rave bangers.

EP title track ‘Devil In A Red Dress’ is the most kind-hearted of the few. Contrasting to the rest, it has a synth loop that is quite uplifting, coloring the track well. The grimey Kaylah part is that there’s a concussion-slamming kick tucked in there for your convenience.

Kaylah’s quite enjoying the impact of unconsciousness and confusion, riding on the concussion flow in Headknock. From here onwards it will only leave you behind worse than before – or better in that case. What?

Nothing leaves you quite upside down, inside out as ‘Off The Grid’. This type of scary faces techno you only meet with at proper business get-togethers.
As if that wasn’t enough, JoeFarr brings the nuts, chisels and gears for a fairground wheel that has gone insane spinning till eternity.

Then the boys from Kander take it up a notch with a loopy synth sequence, a hardcore kick and quite the anthem-like stab when it drops after the break.
