Press Info:
To all the challenges we met
To all silencers who burned our palms
To all storms we walked trough
And all the storms we became
Thank you
This is our postal card
/ Face fear and remember: here is where you get to grow

The Storms We Became is the fifth act of rebellion, featuring original works of 10 artists, both familiar and new to the label. With a red thread of distorted and broken percussions and vocals, the compilation showcases a wide range of styles met in the same intention: crossing the border of normative compliance. What is dance music and counter culture anyway, if we don’t take ourselves the time to question and break the new cages we have built for ourselves?

Acts of Rebellion releases emotively intense techno sounds and alternative dance music, questioning the border of genre conventions and traditional functionality. By fiercely representing diverse and transgressive expressions, the label aims to dissolve the mirages of destructive policies that hold underground dance back from its original cause.

Complemented with its non-musical augmented reality storytelling, Acts of Rebellion can be considered a series of postal cards, demonstrating the challenges we all go through: on a macro-level as a society, and on a micro-level as individuals. Stories of unconditional self-respect and overcoming normative conditioning. Stories of reclaiming one’s history and name, of shaping one’s own reality. Stories of remembering love, and of Challenge bowing for its queen: fierce minds and hearts which are ready for anything.

A donation has been made for the use of the ‘Amen break’. Listeners are applauded to do the same, as the famous sample has shaped electronic music as we know it today.

Part of the profits of this release is donated to IGLYO, to contribute to a brighter future for queer kids around the world.

Press Info:
Amelie Lens’ EXHALE imprint launches with a myriad of uncompromising techno tracks from the underground’s finest established and aspiring artists.

EXHALE’s much anticipated first release continues the legacy of the EXHALE event series with a fifteen original track compilation featuring old and new friends from each avenue of the underground. With a shared love of rave culture, the label is a platform for the forward-thinking while simultaneously paying homage to foundations of techno. With this in mind, Amelie gathers familiar faces and upcoming artists to deliver the future sounds of techno.

Spanning to each dark corner of the technosphere, the compilation fosters a range of sound that exhibits each artist’s production taste and background. Amelie & EXHALE events mainstay AIROD open proceedings with the ascending ‘Adrenaline’, featuring acid lines and hypnotic vocals, with Spanish techno veteran Regal driving on with authoritative speed and neurotic alarms in ‘Spreading the cult’. Following his debut on LENSKE, Amelie welcomes AhI Iver to bring an acid flavour to this compilation along with French talent Felicie, who builds tension early on with raucous track ‘The Devil Himself’. Obscure Shape & SHDW follow with ‘Brennende Erde’, inducing a state of trance with whirring atmospherics.

Next up is notable Berlin based producer Klangkuenstler with ‘Engelsblut’, an oscillation of stabbing keys, sinister drones and unrelenting hi-hats before transitioning into ‘Take Two’ from REMY-X, whom Amelie discovered after his stand-out EP on Coincidence Records last year. DJ/Producer at the forefront of French techno Antigone proceeds with ‘U Tell Me’, along with Brecc who incorporates industrial elements and thundering bass with track ‘Vox’, continuing with Antwerp producer Lukas Firtzer’s ‘Excessus’, packed with shifting percussions and tenacious melodies.

Purveyor of modular techno MRD combines layered atmospherics and euphoric pads in ‘Reach my hand’, followed by Mehen (aka Hadone) who maintains pace with his rendering ‘Broken Whisper’, with a disorentiating and melody driven expedition from Francois X next to switch up momentum. Promising upcoming Dutch producer Grace Dahl ensues with the merciless ‘Vermilion Empire’, while production virtuoso DYEN nods to EXHALE’s roots in rave culture with ‘Fantasy’, a medley of spiked vocals and ethereal synths that maintain the energy until the final kick.

Press Info:
Bade Records owners and two-time remix contributors Morven return to made of CONCRETE with their first full EP, with label member Toni Dextor up for remix duties.

“Western Super” is a slice of dance-inducing undulating techno, with a subdued percussion and catchy glitches ebbing and flowing as its obscure vocal seems to sputter through a radio loudspeaker in the backdrop. Another heavy-hitter comes in the shape of “Shift”, which amps up the tension through its hard bassline and menacing snares. “Grindhouse” is yet another immersive, hazy dub techno piece which mesmerises from the get go.

Toni Dextor’s remix of “Western Super” takes a detour into dark techno with effervescent synths and a subdued version of the vocal, leaving more room for the high impact of the enveloping, throbbing bass.
