Counterweight started at the end of 2015 as a party-series in Munich (Rote Sonne). It was about pushing the style of techno we stand for and which we couldn’t find easily in our city. During this journey we’ve learnt a lot about what somehow sadly has to be called a business and we met many artists and people involved in the Techno Scene. We even made friends throughout the years and that’s one of the nicest things after all.

The first V.A. release on Counterweight is an installment with some excellent artists we met during this time, we love their music as much as we love them as a person. Four years ago we couldn’t even imagine we would release a record with some of our favourites artists … Now, check this out. Heavy Kick-Drums, destructive basslines, distorted hi-hats, mesmerising melodies and…lots of passion.

Counterweight’s first release of 2019 comes by the hands of the Italian duo RVDE and is rounded up with a remix by the Spanish gringo Gonzo MDF.

Once again, the guys show what they can do best, Techno for the dancefloor full of energy with no mercy. The A-side with “Roll & Lick” and “Carousel Rampage” is highly influenced by 90’s rave sound and will bring your mind right onto the dancefloor of your favorite club or warehouse. On the B-Side, “XXX” maintains the rave flavour but this time the approach is deeper and hypnotic. Finally XXX gets a re-built by Gonzo MDF who adds his characteristic aggressive & fast paced sound.

So, yes, you will hear it at any good warehouse party this year… and don’t forget to call them Rude.

Gonzo MDF is back on Counterweight with his 3rd Release and he does what he is known for and of course he does it pretty well and reckless. Tested on the crowd of their monthly Counterweight events you can be sure that this EP is a real dancefloor weapon. On the A side Fast Fast a hammering and driving track shows what this artist stands for. The Train is Leaving brings in some break beat drums that will drive any crowd pretty mad.

Cerdos on the B side with some really heavy synth lines does it’s job incredibly well while Out of the Box is an ideal track to breathe some fresh air into the middle of any set.

Counterweight welcomes to the label the rising Berlin artist Opål with this excellent 4-Track full of Techno EP.

The title track, Luminescence, is a rough and hard hitting 4/4 warehouse destroyer. “Impala” reduces the tension and shows a more melodic side of the artist but still keeping his characteristic industrial touch. On the B side Opål shows what is the definition of “driving” Techno with “Eclipse”, this is simply amazing. The last track is an absolutely outstanding remix by the Italian artist PVS, who explores new atmospheric shapes and goes beyond simple 4/4 structures.

Pump up the volume, this is real shit!
