Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell return for their third outing on James Ruskin’s Blueprint Records to follow their “Geometriska Strukturer EP” in 2023 and “Marvatten EP” last year.

This Swedish duo have built an impressive reputation since their production debut in 2000 and have gone on to release music on labels including Audio Assault, Symbolism, Blueprint, H. Productions, ARMS, XXX Records, and their own Lømsk label which they launched in 2022.

Their new “Bentik Zone EP” features three peak-time assaults alongside a more experimental closing track, set for release on vinyl and digitally on 2nd May.

“2024 had been a profound turning point for me – not just as an artist, but as a human being. The “X1 Shift” EP is more than a collection of tracks; it’s a story, a reflection of the shifts I’ve embraced, and the identity I’m uncovering at my core.

“I’ve always felt that music is storytelling, not boxes to be labelled. Whether through ambient textures, techno grooves or experimental soundscapes, each genre represents a chapter in a bigger story.

“The magic lies in weaving them together into something timeless and deeply resonant – much like the origins of electronic music. For me, the essence of being an artist is freedom – creating without limits and exploring the beauty of the unexpected. This EP represents that freedom: the love of pushing boundaries, the courage to evolve and the joy of stepping into the unknown. Every sound on “X1 Shift” is intentional, every transition meaningful, yet there’s also room for spontaneity.

“Technically, the EP features the tools and hardware that inspire me: the Korg Electribe (my heart), Yamaha DX200, NI Maschine+, Arturia Minifreak and plugins from NI and Plugin Alliance. These tools became the palette for painting this journey.

Amorphic & Tensal join James Ruskin’s Blueprint Records family with their “Distant Landscapes EP” this December, which closes out the label’s 2024 catalogue.

Amorphic is the pseudonym of Scottish artist Vince Watson, aimed at exploring more raw and hypnotic signatures. Launched in 2022, Amorphic has featured on labels like Token, Symbolism and Modularz as well as Vince’s self-formed labels Amorphic and Morph. With almost 30 years in the industry, Vince has released over 1000 tracks, which has allowed him to work and gig with some of the very best. He now teams up with Spanish artist Tensal for this new EP.

Tensal is the alias of Héctor Sandoval (who is also one half of Exium, Komatssu and Selección Natural), created to give space to his more cyclical and modern vision of Techno in which he combines different rhythms and textures. After a handful of works released on his own label, he has recorded for the likes of Mord, Modularz, Arcing Seas, Warm Up, Perc Trax, Cabrera, Polegroup (of which he is a founding member) and Soma, where he released his first LP in 2018.

Together they’ve drawn on their individual skills to deliver 4 deep and driving Techno cuts that perfectly fit James Ruskin’s influential label..

Following on from September’s “Sonic Underworld EP” by Shlomi Aber & Kashpitzky, James Ruskin’s label delivers another first as Chloe Lula presents her Blueprint Records debut with the “Torpor EP”.

Chloe is a resident DJ at Tresor. She’s played at Berghain, Boiler Room, Khidi, Movement weekend in Detroit, and countless clubs, festivals and parties across Asia, Europe, and North and South America alongside artists like Kanding Ray, Helena Hauff and Lewis Fautzi, becoming known for atmospheric, acidic sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of techno. In addition to her career as a DJ and producer, Lula is a cellist—her debut instrumental full-length will be out on James Ginzburg’s Subtext label in November 2024—and the senior producer of Resident Advisor, where she hosts and curates panels and interviews as a broadcast journalist at festivals like Nuits Sonores, Dekmantel, Unsound, Rewire and more.

Her debut on Blueprint, “Torpor” is a reflection of her stylistic evolution, bringing the sounds of ambience and synths into a clean, contemporary techno framework. A lifelong reader, each track—and the EP’s name itself—pays homage to a book or piece of writing that has been influential in her development as a writer and an artist.

Shlomi Aber & Kashpitzky join forces once again to make their Blueprint Records debut with four formidable techno tracks on the “Sonic Underworld EP”.

Barcelona-based Shlomi Aber brings over two decades of production and DJing experience to his music, drawing inspiration from Jazz, Funk, Acid and the old-school Detroit Techno scene. With releases on Cocoon, Ovum, R&S, Figure, CLR, Drumcode, BPitch, Renaissance and his own Be as One Imprint, along with his dynamic mixing technique, has gained him global success while headlining clubs, festivals and venues worldwide.

Growing up, Kashpitzky began his musical path playing guitar in a metal-core band, before trading amps for drum machines. After relocating to Berlin, he graduated from the SAE Institute. A DJ who’s hard to pigeonhole, he has a track for every occasion. His definition of techno is best exemplified by his energetic, yet deep and groovy productions, often combining broken beats with organic textures via releases on the likes of MindTrip, Monnom Black and of course, Shlomi’s Be As One.
