Press Info:
Monnom Black is proud to present BODY MUSIC – the new album from legendary electronic artist,Thomas P. Heckmann!

Thomas P. Heckmann is a man who needs little introduction. The German producer has flexed his prowess across all shades of electronic music, but it’s his contributions to EBM-Techno, Acid, Industrial and Experimental that has earned him his notoriety, and it was in 1994 when he dropped an acid-tinged ‘Amphetamine’ as DRAX LTD. II that shot him into being recognised as a power to be reckoned with.

For the production of BODY MUSIC, Heckmann has utilised 30 years worth of acquired knowledge to create a hard-hitting album which bears all the grit Heckmann is renowned for. Harmonising analogue and digital wares to create an utterly immersive album over the course of 14 tracks.

Tracks such as Provide the Future, Bloody Vacant and Zeitmaschine are prime examples of how TPH can bring forth his charismatic productions into the contemporary techno climate, whilst sealing each track with his signature stamp. His vast knowledge of modular and analogue syntheses teamed with his ability to build tension proves optimal in BODY MUSIC’s storytelling. The album’s mission statement is simple: “Connecting the future with the past.” Tracks such as EBM3 start off where Thomas left off back in the early 2000s – sequels to EBM1 and EBM2.

The LP will be presented over three slabs of vinyl, with the album covering significant ground in techno, EBM, acid and electro (and many chasms in between). BODY MUSIC is a prime example of why TPH has remained so in demand and relevant over the years – and now more than ever Body Music will be made available on Triple Vinyl, CD & Digital. A 3-track EP album teaser will be released in February 2018, and will be followed by the full triple LP in March 2018.

Info:
Only few labels understand to merge Techno as a part of Berlin’s DNA with a fine sense for unforgettable compositions into an energetic and innovative production like Vault Series does. The tracks released the label are made to get stuck in your head, while the atmosphere and their technical finesse leave you slack-jawed from astonishment. Through releases of artists like Escape to Mars, Mistake Made, Sawlin and particularly label owner Subjected, the label plays a significant role in the techno business on a global level.

The newly introduced sub-label Vault Series Lost Gems will be dedicated to productions which are not part of a curated release, like an EP or an album. Instead the tracks will be released as rough diamonds, which have once gotten lost on a hard drive and have been rediscovered, standing strongly for themselves.

When given to Subjected, those unique gems instantly fascinated him and became part of his favored sets, but then were forgotten in face of the large quantity of today’s releases. Now the Lost Gems have surfaced and will finally be presented.

„Same Soul“ a project by the Italian producer MTD develops from a contrast of a rumbling and deep underground bassline to chipper, cheerful bleeps and explosive tension.

In „Dirty Mirror“ Mistake Made places a fine-tuned drumming into the center of the track. The enormous power of this element translates vastly into a dynamic liveliness. The dark and suggestive soundscapes are being well balances by a short, but soulful chord-sequence.

With his remix of Kevin de Vries´ „Seraphim“ Subjected underlines the relentlessness that his work is well liked for. The distorted hi-hats are dominating the beat while synths are travelling through the layers of sound. Eventually the production centers its core in the brisk and pulsating bassline.

Valura through his Remix of Lifka´s “Mass” makes the final statement. A melodic track that builds its tension on whipping tribal grooves. Ready for departure, the screaming is fading away. The ships are casting off into the open sea and only moments later their majestic silhouettes disappear in dawn into the thick veils of fog.

Press Info (English):
Ostgut Ton’s Berghain mix series returns with volume 08 by Fiedel. Available on 12” vinyl are four new exclusive tracks by Electric Indigo, Stefan Rein, rRoxymore, Boris & Fiedel.

Few figures in Berlin dance music can claim as lasting and multifaceted a presence as longtime Berghain resident Fiedel. A former resident at Berghain forerunner OstGut, the veteran DJ and producer is known by heads for his decades-long influence on left-field techno and bass music in the German capital, particularly as one half of celebrated production duo MMM with Errorsmith, and co-operator of the legendary Wax Treatment parties together with Mark Ernestus of Hard Wax and Basic Channel fame. Indeed, Fiedel’s broad vision of what works on the dance floor is informed by grooves both in and outside the realm of 4/4 – from, acid, electro and jungle to hip-hop, dub und breaks – all subtly present in hybrid forms on previous releases for Ostgut Ton and his own Fiedelone and Fiedeltwo imprints. So it makes sense that the four exclusive tracks he has curated for the 8th edition of the Berghain mix series radiate the same off-kilter, bass-heavy and deep techno sensibility.

Veteran Viennese producer, activist and DJ Electric Indigo kicks blasts things off with “Registers”, employing her trademark dubby and sample-heavy rhythmic constructions, minor chords and distorted hats. Driving and atmospheric, “Registers” sets the bar high not only for the 12-inch but also as the explosive opener for the mix itself. This is followed on A2 by PURE TRAXX founder Stefan Rein, whose deep, hypnotic “Panther” transcends techno-tool status with entrancing siren melodies and psychedelic builds and releases.

French-born, Berlin-based producer rRoxymore takes a sonic left turn on B-Side opener “Tropicalcore”, where bleepy, distorted and complex drum patterns recall both classic DMZ and later post-dubstep funk. Finally, B2 belongs to Fiedel himself, who teams up with fellow veteran Berghain resident and Berlin techno stalwart Boris on “Div’hain”. The track teems with with bubbling bass-lines, cowbells and claps shaped by modular synths, as well as elements of electro and boogie – but jacks hard. It’s a fitting closer to one of the mix series’ most eclectic 12-inches – made by one of Berghain’s most fearless residents.
