Press Info (English):
After a seven-year hiatus, the longtime Berghain resident Norman Nodge is back with four new tracks of deep, narcotic techno. Hailing from Brandenburg, Nodge spent the 90s as a DJ, promoter and mentor to the likes of Marcel Dettmann and Marcel Fengler before becoming a Berghain resident in 2005. Since then he has occupied a special place in Berlin techno with a sound that is at once forceful, dubby and hypnotic, evident not only on his Berghain 06 mix and various 12”s and compilation contributions for Ostgut Ton, but also on EPs for Dettmann’s MDR imprint.

A lawyer by trade, on Embodiment EP Nodge reflects on decades of observing how dancers develop an intuitive relationship to music and process new sounds. “Tacit Knowing” (A1) is a nod to the feedback loop between the instincts of dancer and producer, combining bassline, breakbeats and Detroit-like strings, which subtly develop into a cavernous techno roller. In contrast, “Discipline” (A2) is aggressive, updated peaktime acid packed with the sounds of metal and overdriven snares.

On the flipside, “Gathering” (B1) is a bongo-heavy tribal groover, while “Embodiment” references a more halcyon Ostgut Ton aesthetic – one that resonates not only in the space of the club but also within the bodies of those occupying it.

Press Info:
This is not a mind trip, this is a body journey!
This is not a mind trip, or is it?

The Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound is proud to present fresh music from the legendary german duo Air Liquide. Active since 1991, Dr Walker and Jammin Unit have released more than 50 records with their band Air Liquide.

This is their first official outing since 2004, but that does not mean that these two were hiding somewhere for 15 years. Jammin Unit stayed busy with his Jammin Masters – mastering studio and Dr Walker was heavily involved in the Liquid Sky artist collective and they kept making music sometimes undercover, or on remix duty/coproducing with Coldcut and Ninja Tune and other high profile artists.

“This is a Mind Trip” nods to the 94’s Love Parade, Dr. Motte, and things that could ring nostalgic for some. However there is no nostalgia in these three tracks. Air Liquide was always looking towards the future and this hasn’t changed despite the hiatus between the releases.

We’ll spare you more useless chatter about a new take on techno, because this is a mind trip and not a body journey!

And this trip is damn good!

Press Info:
Three storylines make a whole. The foundation of Barong EP was born in Indonesia, where Torgue travelled and fell in love with the land and her culture. Being an admirer of mythology, he there decided to let three tracks interact with each other, through name and meaning. The battle between good and evil – Barong and Rangda – is expressed in The Holy Dance to represent the eternal battle between good and evil.

It’s no Torgue track if there’s no big thumping kick in there. In Barong the stereo field is filled with metal squeaking and grinding, gradually working the tension upwards through a sinister string. Pressure is released when all molts together with a tribalesque pad, unfolding true beauty of obscurity. Second is the soundtrack of Indonesian martial arts practitioners fighting off Rangda’s black magic. As it progresses, slowly but surely the big arena pad and organ’s emotions will open up and reveal a sense of triumph. The Holy Dance kicks things into gear for a proper midnight rinse out. Hells bells and tingles to send any warehouse into orbit.

A furious Balinese god on steroids is a result of Torgue’s samples in Ayarcana his hands. The track’s character builds on an overdriven and warped voice-like scream and works its way through like an apocalyptic locomotive only Ayarcana can do. Brussels-based Incident Prism presses his crisp and clean signature on Barong. Stealthy and meaty remix drenched in a vat full of dark energy.

Press Info:
Adam X returns to his imprint Sonic Groove with his first album in four years, a 56 minute excursion into EBM and Cyberdelic Industrial Techno titled RECON MISSION. The mission begins with beat driven hypnotic electronics that invoke paranormal illusions of Easter island mythology and Bermuda Triangle disappearances. Climbing forward the album crosses the line into harder industrial territories, conjuring visions of New York City‘s dystopian past and CIA shadow government experiments.

Adam‘s own voice adorns tracks such as „Never Ending Quest“, „Modular Bodies“ and the title track „Recon Mission“, while manipulated dialogue samples take the stage on „ Tales Of Mystery” , “Search & Retrieval” & “Delusions Of Paranoia”. Subtle, whispered statements creep in and infect the listener‘s ear, guiding them deeper into mental oppression. This album is not for the faint of heart, and its meticulously detailed production stands as a testament to Adam X‘s enduring career in techno. Adam has survived the ups and downs of the industry while continually raising the bar for production value and sound design. RECON MISSION is a triumph, ahead of the curve of modern industrial techno. This is not a throwback, this is Future EBM.
