Welcoming a new face to the family, Figure proudly introduces Arthur Robert. The Amsterdam-based producer emerges onto the scene fully formed, with a sound that is rich in detail as it channels a puristic groove.

Inspired from a past of jungle and drum & bass, Robert now composes via an array of live electronics, infusing his productions with the fluidity and vitality of a direct recording.

This first part of a forthcoming double EP showcases a matured sound, featuring deep, hypnotic trips, swelling, and swerving dub chords, dreamy break-science and finally the amalgamation of it all – a distinctly unique sound by an artist we hope to be presenting more of in the near future.

The debut EP Berlin Bunny “Maneki Neko” [ITR027] – besides the original experimental industrial track consists also of 3 remixes by some of artist’s favourite electronic music production inspirations : Belgian rave sound master Ethan Fawkes, raw and uncompromising electrifying harsh banger of Unmasked London resident Evil Dust, solid electro pounding track by Dave Inox.

The Maneki-neko (招き猫), literally meaning “beckoning cat”, is a common Japanese figurine talisman, which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. The name of the EP is granted by the artist’s temporary residency in Shenzhen, China, where also her focus on production of this release has started.

Berlin Bunny is a project focused on dj and music production, which it’s name granted the VJ / Animation project in which the artist was involved. Born in Poland, but currently based in Berlin. She is the co-creator of DarkDisco.org music platform, where she is promoting the EBM / wave / techno / electro / new beat / idm sound with disco vibe – sharing weekly podcasts & organising parties few times a year in Berlin and recently during her tour also in Asia – mainly in Oil, Shenzhen – in Saferoom, Bangkok.

In her recent Asia tour she played in over 15 gigs in China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan having pleasure to dj in the underground venues and parties like for example Volnost Club in Seoul, New Year Celebration in Oil Club in Shenzhen, Dada Club in Beijing, Dada Club in Shanghai, Vinyl House in Xi’an & Shenzhen, Safe Room in Bangkok, HER queer positive event in Taipei & in cities like Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Osaka.

Her style has a strong punk, industrial, alternative music background, where her danceable and eclectic mixes contain a combination of modern electronic techno sounds and retro electro/synth wave vibes strongly inspired by Berlin‘s underground scene. Her selection of music is going over the boundaries touching such genres like new wave, EBM, new beat, post punk and some old school and trashy sounds from the 90’s or 80’s.

The label has the honor to welcome in its ranks the one who could be compared to a centurion, the greatest in charge in the Roman Army. With more than a decade of experience behind him and which has dictated the aesthetic canons of a genre, Lykos Records presents Ness and his Ep “Memento”.

In this sonic adventure Ness delves into the most hidden and dark ravines of memory. In a succession of allegorical scenes, dystopian premonitions and powerful evocative sounds “Memento”, focuses his attention on memory and how much it’s fundamental, both as a psychic function of assimilation, as well as for processing data in order to learning.

The Ep opens with the track that gives the name to the work “Memento”, which immediately wraps the listener with the deep bass sound and through a wise use of the pads and synths kidnaps his mind.
When body and mind have reached the perfect union, “Bionic Harp” comes into, breaking these balances, with the body undergoes through a pressing groove and the psyche intent on the perception of a harp melody, which echoing far away like a vague foggy memory.

The β side begins with a utopian and almost catastrophic vision that “System Failure” paints, through scratching and repetitive sounds, alarming and catapulting the listener into a dark and distressful nightmare. To conclude and restore calm in this comings and goings of dreams and memories, Deepbass’s adaptation of “Bionic Harp”, which highlights the dreamlike atmospheres, creating a sound landscape rich of air and light.
