Avoidant start 2021 with a new EP from Russian based artist Confluence. He drops his 2nd release with the label, Cognitive Dissonance EP.

Title track Cognitive Dissonace is a fear inducing, driving electro based track with a powerful and discordant string section and warped, funked out synths. Ebb & Flow leans on a more old skool breaks vibe with a powerful, deep bass and vibrant hooks. Morphine ups the pace while keeping Confluence’s dark and brooding attitude throughout. Virtual World closes out the EP with a classic electro beat merged perfectly with the depth of Confluence’s harmonic and atmospheric textures.

Confluence, aka Evgeny Chizhkov, a native of the small town of Dobryanka, Perm Region in Russia. His track style is academic Detroit interspersed with classic EBM and German electro early 00s, with the influence of the English broken beat school and leftfield house. His music has been released on many European labels, with his tracks sounded at major events such as Time Warp and Awakenings with positive feedback and support from top artists such as Rødhåd, Etapp Kyle, Slam + Charlotte De Witte.

TWICE INFINITY marks the conception of a new label and its self-titled debut EP by Speciﬁc Objects, an artist making waves in the international techno community for several years now. After releases on labels like Modularz, Suara and Nord Ltd., the creation of his own artistic platform marks the next step in the producer’s journey.

With TWICE INFINITY he aims to explore a novel stylistic direction with productions heavily inﬂuenced by early 2000s techno – created within a modern mindset and with the intention of featuring like-minded artists on future releases. Groove before kitsch, substance over style and a carefully selected output are much needed cornerstones in a time where mediocrity reigns the scene. This initial release oﬀers four of Speciﬁc Objects’ own cuts on vinyl, following those principles and serving as a primer for a project soaked in true DYI ethos.

With the brute Endstate setting the mood for what’s to expect, Visceral follows as a lection in old-school groove with penetrating stabs and haunting vocals. The B-side holds Niver, a fast-paced, reduced and atmospheric techno belter, before smoothing things out with Lockdown Groove as a modern hommage to Detroit and its legacy.
