After being a German techno institution for 12 years now, the renowned Lehmann Club started its own label called “Lehmann Musik“ in 2018. The label aswell as the Stuttgart based club represents a wide range of actual techno sound. The philosophy of Lehmann Musik is to show a cross section of the Lehmann residents and regulars plus of course guests & friends of the club.

More then 12 months later still dark days for our scene and culture. We are guessing everybody is going through a lot of struggles and mixed emotions at the moment. As for the most in our industry and scene – we as Lehmann Club – looking into an uncertain future. Depending on how long this crisis will last, we not really know how it will go on afterwards. So we called some of our dearest „old“ and „new“ friends, past guests and our residents to create these „Save our HOME“ compilation series. We are very thankful for the support and appreciate this a lot.

The 006 is the second Edition of the Save our HOME compilation. It reflects again several vibes and moods of the current techno zeitgeist. Shout out and big love to all the artists who supporting us to keep our scene and culture alive.

Revered London-based electronic DJ and producer Inigo Kennedy returns to his personal and inspirational Asymmetric Records imprint with the first release on the label in twelve years. The mesmerising ‘Recovery Mode’ EP ASYD-01 is out today (Friday July 2nd) and is available worldwide in digital format.

2020 offered the techno pioneer an unanticipated amount of studio time to realign his focus into the highly acclaimed label, the result being the 2021 rebirth of Asymmetric, a comeback that is truly an honour to behold.

The EP opens with the self-titled ‘Recovery Mode’ in which Kennedy’s distinct style pours through, hypnotic melodies melting into heavy basslines, transporting the listener to the darkened rooms we all miss so intensely. ‘Ricochet’ follows, possessing equally booming basslines and twisted rolling rhythms, enveloping the listener into a powerful dancefloor rapture. Kennedy’s incomparable aesthetic is magnified in ‘Dusty Yarns’, the producer reveling in the opposite forces of dark and light, the listener suspended between determined kick drums and a celestial, gesticulating melody. The EP closes with ‘Captivation’; the composition majestically atmospheric and somewhat otherworldly, the track concluding the release in perfect fashion, leaving the listener pining for more.

Initially launched in January 1999, Asymmetric became the home to Kennedy’s most intimate productions. The label began as a vinyl-only imprint but come 2004 Kennedy embraced the digital revolution of electronic music, the Asymmetric|MP3 project was created and all releases were made available to download for free inMP3 format. Despite the digital transformation of the label, the sound of Asymmetric continued to grow and diversify over the years, with the label’s productions evolving into directions that covered a far wider breadth of electronic and experimental sounds. Come the twenty-first release in 2012, Asymmetric came to a natural halt whilst Kennedy concentrated on other creative pursuits including the hefty Inigo Kennedy and Token Records techno alliance that stretches more than a decade with dozens of tracks and releases including the highly acclaimed ‘Trajectory’ EP and the diverse and raw ‘Strata’ album. Other recent productions from the respected producer have included the melancholic sounds of the ‘Arcadian Falls’ solo EP on Belgian label Voltage and Kennedy’s latest 2021 Modularz collaboration on Jeff Mills’ illustrious Axis Records.

With Kennedy maintaining such forceful presence over the last two decades, and with the magnitude of the comeback ‘Recovery Mode’ EP being certain to forge his musical reputation even further forwards, Asymmetric aficionados certainly have a lot to look forward to over the coming months.

Leon Lolishvili, a.k.a. Boyd Schidt is a georgian electoronic producer and DJ, better known as a half of the long-running techno duo Greenbeam & Leon. As a solo artist, Boyd Schidt’s career dates to 2010, with releases on Front Record, Mo’s Ferry and Emote Music. In 2014, he released “Mornig Utopia” as a part of Studio R°’s “Various 003″, alongside Mike Parker, Brendon Moeller, Zadig, Exercise One, followed by next 12”, “Structure EP” on Waveform. Nowadays, Georgia’s techno pioneer is still actively engaged in the process of composing music and Djing around the world, therefore contributing to the advancement of electronic music scene in Georgia.
