UK electronic legend Carl Finlow makes his full debut on Avoidant Records with the clinical Engines Of Creation EP. Easily one of the most highly respected producers to come out of the UK, Carl has a discography going back over 20 years and spanning multiple genres. After his first outing the label as part of the ‘Defend Your Planet’ compilation, Carl drops 4 classic, superbly produced cuts of hi techno electro funk.

Title track Engines Of Creation opens in true Finlow style with robotic beats and flexing, otherworldly synths. Dead Centre bangs hard with it’s disruptive, fast paced percussion but leads down darker paths with ominous, spacial FX and atmospheres. The frenetic sounds of Sonic Six continue Finlow’s innovative and funked up trajectory before closing out with the interstellar trip of Reckless, that bounds through the the cosmos, radiating it’s high energy output.

This collection of live recordings is a deep dive into the nightmarish soundscapes and destroyed rhythms that characterized the early work of the project.

Edited into a continuous mix, Primordial State conjures the ritualistic, dreamlike atmosphere of early Orphx performances and shows how studio material was developed and mutated through live improvisation, including the nascent forms of compositions that would later appear on the Fragmentation album (re-released as an expanded box set on Hospital Productions in 2020).

DRIADA is presenting her second album called Край / Land. The sound-producer and singer-songwriter from Moscow delivers her release under a slogan «I will tell you a fairy-tale». Of mermaids and dragons. Of a dark land where you shouldn’t go because creature in armor wander there. Of a fairy who runs with her lover into the woods, leaving her sisters. Of a round dance from which people disappear. Of a little house made of bark and moss.

From cyber-folk to synth pop and EBM, DRIADA creates her musical net out of three languages: Russian, English and French.

The track Drown in My Eyes has a big story behind it. This song once was stolen from DRIADA as it was meant to be a collaboration with one Russian sound-producer. He released the track under his name only, not mentioning DRIADA and assigning her voice and song to himself. Luckily, the track was soon deleted and now the girl has created her own music for her song, which, according to her words, is more worth attention than the previous version.
