Press Info:
Denise Rabe is back with a frantic industrial EP, Blame Me, via the Arkham Audio imprint. The aggressive techno release reflects her early influences from hip hop, drum ‘n’ bass and jungle, mixing heavy drums and tribal percussive rhythms with gritty industrial drones, arpeggiated sirens and machine fx for a dark and hard-hitting experience. The release perfectly embodies Arkham Audio’s signature sound that focuses on driving, club-ready industrial techno.

The EP begins with the title track ‘Blame Me’, which blends a frenzy of raw percussion, rough noise textures and an ever-evolving alarming sweep that builds tension throughout the track. The release follows with ‘1394’, a darker, rhythm-heavy tune with electrical buzz and mechanical hiss that groans, creaks and moans. ‘Dosing Off’ is the most melodic and minimalistic track of the EP, with a mellow, ambient lead pulsing over sweeping noise pads and sparse drums.

The release features a remix for each of the three original tracks, the first being Advent’s groovy interpretation of ‘Blame Me’, which brings in dub chords to replace some of the industrial hits and drones. The second remix is from TWR72 for ‘1394’, which adds tribal drums and textures for an upbeat, dancefloor-ready track. The final track is an upbeat, pulsing remix of ‘Dosing Off’ from Arkham Audio label owner Cri Du Coeur himself.

out now: ED1999 – Body Fluid [Porpax Records]

Artist:
ED1999

Title:
Body Fluid

Label:
Porpax Records

Cat#:
PORPAX05

02nd September 2022

Format:

Tracklist:
01.
Blurry Blue Eyes

02.
Indigo Blood

03.
Deep Sea Hunter

04.
Azura Sequence

05.
Abyssal Terror

Press Info:
The hotly tipped rising producer ED1999 is releasing his fifth 12“ on his own label Porpax. On „Body Fluid“, the Belgium-based artist unleashes four slices of high octane big room techno.

„Indigo Blood“, the second track, after the EP’s bitter-sweet Carl Craig circa „Landcruising“ reminiscent ambient opener „Blurry Blue Eyes“, primes you for „Body Fluid“’s overall energy level.

Balls-to-the wall techno with more than a hint of ED1999’s love for Detroit techno. How deep this influences run in ED1999 is nowhere more audible than in „Abyssal Terror“ with its jubilant chords and arpeggios. Another fast-paced whirlwind of a track is „Deep Sea Hunter“, which has a loopy vibe to it, that is trance-inducing in the best possible way.

The bleepy „Azura Sequence“ rounds the EP off with another perfectly balanced execution of tracky forward drive and deepness. Visually, the collaboration with Berlin-based graphic artist Oliver Sperl continues. The cover of „Body Fluid“ is one of Sperl’s artworks that the Porpax team purchased at an exhibition in Berlin a while back.

05.
Ultrasonic

Press Info:
The third release on ‘Weisse Elster’ fits seamlessly into the annual late summer transition from festival time to club season. It’s motto: less heavy, more elegant. Without sacrificing any drive or dynamics, Wice offers DJs plenty of options: The EP’s five tracks unleash their potential during a sun-drenched midday dance, whilst also delivering some serious heat to a sparsely lit nightclub.

Decoder’s heady and distinctly unique remix of Wice’s ‘Rift’ skillfully complements this concept. Linking two pairs of Wice originals, it embodies those shades of grey that make techno music what it is: the brightest light and the bleakest dark – and above all, whatever each person makes of it.
