Press Info:
Following his debut contribution to the label’s catalogue this year via the Midnight Shift x Voitax „Mothership” compilation, (a contribution saw the artist paired with Veronica Maximova) the Brighton based producer L/F/D/M, also known as Richard Smith, is the latest to join the catalogue on Voitax. Having pushed the boundaries of his own music, Smith managed to release an impressive amount of records throughout the last years and has perpetuated his sound on cult labels such as Cititrax, Midnight Shift, Optimo Trax, Ecstatic and Clan Destine Records.

The British producer now returns to Voitax with his »Mutual Autopsy« EP – a strong four-tracker that is characterised by Smith’s undenably grainy lo-fi signature. The whole package is armed with heavyweight kicks, bloating basslines and crunchy, percussive patterns, that he perfectly crowns with some memorable and catchy synth lines. The former art student, as well as one half of Bronze Teeth, shows once again his ability to modulate his way into the abstract, while keeping it groovy and warm and firmly secures himself in the ranks with the techno avant-garde.

Through emotion, energy is born.
With force, the energy is filtered through sound.
Distorted fragments with a desire to shift through space, frequencies that intertwine and become what is.
A profound journey, capturing moments through sound.
You can never re-capture a moment, a recording will always be different and the feeling will be changed or lost.

Press Info:
Having established himself as a key member of the Voitax roster with a love letter to the Orgazoid on his last outing, Berlin-based, UK-born producer Cressida returns to the fold with yet another genre blurring masterclass in formless electronica as the forward facing German imprint continues to provide a platform for a number of dance music’s most innovative artists.

Finding himself spending his time in lockdown reflecting on his formative years within the darker strands of London’s varied underground electronic music scene, the Sambo EP serves as potent reminder of the stunning level of diversity that can be found within the Capital as Cressida incorporates the bass fuelled sounds of his youth into a series of DnB speckled cuts that defy conventional classification.

Housing the power of jungle, dubstep and grime within the kind of gritty heads-down framework that has become his calling card in recent times, Cressida’s carefully crafted blend of terse percussion, piercing tones and sonorous samples showcase the shadowy producer’s talents at their eclectic best.

Press Info:
Berlin techno bastion Jamaica Suk’s generous ‘Uncertain Landscape’ series continues with the third part of this weighty 17-track release serving up another quartet of rugged grooves.

Representing Portugal, Temudo brings fierce tribal energy on ‘L9’. Channeling the driving sounds of early 2000s techno, he brings it up to date with pummeling bass and kicks and taut percussive loops that flex and fire with a mighty intent.

It’s over to France next and a big tempo change from Ersatz Olfolks with the meditative ‘Reflecting Surface’ chugging along at an unhurried pace. Resonant metallic sounds chime over the stuttering kicks, with wet acidic gurgles rising and combining with a complementary hi-hat shuffle. Distorted, overdriven edges emerge, gentle screeches and hisses forced into existence.

Techno royalty Oliver Deutschmann pitches in next with the pacey contrast of ‘Hunting’. Its manic tempo is contrasted by its comparative lightness of touch, with the acidic theme continuing. The 303s are teasingly muted, meandering relentlessly under rapid-fire clap patterns and urgent hi-hats.

Parallax Records boss and Berghain and Concrete guests Pharaoh and Yogg provide the closing salvo, an experimental cut by the name of ‘Betelgeuse’. Broken beats underpin glitchy textures and gnarled surfaces, providing a challenging workout for discerning dancefloors.
