About Tham:
Tham, 24, is one half of the SYNOID crew and resident DJ of Griessmühle, Berlin. As he got to know this music through the dancefloors in a lot of different clubs, his style of DJing is about the dancefloor with driving industrial & acid soundscapes with many layers, loops & long transitions.

About Klockworks:
Klockworks is a German techno label, founded by Berghain resident Ben Klock in 2006. On his own label Ben releases under the moniker Klockworks but also signed artists like DVS1, Etapp Kyle, ROD, Trevino and other. He just celebrated the 20th catalogue number with the release of a compilation containing 3 separate double 12 inch.

Tham About His Choice:
Klockworks is one of my favourite record labels as its releases leap from raw and minimalistic up to banging acid sound textures. As the styles of the tracks are very different at least also housy. The similiarity is more about the way it’s made. Everything about it seems nearly unfinished and raw, which is giving the label a completely own character. This also made it a task to play only Klockworks stuff – especially in the way I usually mix. I tried to keep it simple and just used my personally favourites of the whole discography.

About Akmê:
Born and raised in the suburbs of Potsdam, Akmê first developed his penchant for electronic music in the middle of the 2000s. He soon found a home and outlet for his musical exploits at Spartacus Potsdam, a club which helped shape him both musically as well as socially. Having organised numerous events and sampling all of the delights suburbia had to offer, he was drawn to the bustling metropole of neighbouring Berlin. Here he quickly attained a foothold in the music scene at ://about blank; a move which blossomed into a residency in 2014. Akmê’s sets are known for their diversity, they are profound improvisational odysseys which explore deep planes of emotions. Though if there is one thing they achieve above all else, it is that they will make you move. Simply put: Techno with groove.

About Planet Rhythm:
Planet Rhythm’s is a dutch techno label, that is currently owned by Triple Vision Music Group. The label was originally founded by Glenn Wilson back in the early 90’s in Sweden with the help of Adam Beyer, Umek, Gaetek, Thomas Krome, Slobodan & Patrick Skoog and many more local techno producers at the time. The label then changed ownership around 2005 to keep growing into its current form with more than 100 releases and a huge roster of modern day techno producers, with artists like Fanon Flowers, Radial, Bas Mooy, Exium, Scalameriya, Sleeparchive, Yan Cook,TWR72, Emmanuel, Re:Axis, Giorgio Gigli, VSK, DJ Boss, D. Carbone, Christian Wünsch, Matrixxman, Oscar Mulero, Echologist, Woo York and many more both well known and upcoming artists. With a steady stream of releases, Planet Rhythm has always played an important role, and it will continue to be a landmark, explore the boundaries , search for talent that design the future, and expand its catalog with strong, solid and often versatile techno. Techno is too big of a concept to limit its self to just 1 approach and 1 direction.

Akmê About His Choice:
Planet Rhythm is one of not many record labels, from which i always have at least five records in my bag. Due to the constantly versatile output of the label it’s no secret that i’m a big fan of the label. With decades of experience they shape techno like nobody else can do.

My first aim was to introduce you to the wide range of electronic music, which came out on Planet Rhythm over the past 23 years. I don’t know how much cigarettes were smoked and how much liters of wine were drunk while i was sitting in my kitchen listening to every single release.

After i realised thats it’s going to be very difficult to mix the trancy sound from of 90th with the hard techno from the millennium and the modern melodically touched sound of today, i’ve chosen to make a cut in 2007 and mix a couple of tracks, which were released in the past ten years. I also made this because I think that this will be a mix listend with headphones on the streets, in your office or maybe at home (I like when techno is not only made for clubs). So here’s the smoother and groovy side of Planet Rhythm.

About Sev Dah:
Berlin, Detroit, Birmingham and, of course, Sarajevo.

Bosnian-built and -bred Sev Dah may be a Swedish expat, but the Balkan blackness clings strongly to the bleak percussions and rigidly uneasy synthetics that unwillingly fuse into his strongly individual take on techno. Authentically purveying the pulsations of the nakedly throbbing and ugly world, far away from Starbucks and H&M.

Signed to respected labels such as Random Island, Mote-Evolver, Komisch and Frozen Border sublabel Naked Index he quickly gnawed his way into the scene’s core of DJs and producers. Sev is even managing new projects on his own label Proletarijat since 2016. Like a rabid mongrel, since 1998 he has been chewing and belching new bastard beats that are aching to scream out. Consequently there’s a steaming and steady stream of vinyl releases coming.

With influences ranging from Stigmata and Mills to Master Reese and Petar Dundov, Sev Dah is a versatile but headstrong DJ that can gently ease a thumb in at midnight or fervently thrust it down the hatch at peak time.

About Mote-Evolver:
Mote-Evolver is an indie record label looking forward. Embracing the technologies that exist and will exist while bypassing the established bloated system that has been in place for many years.

Setup in 2006 by Luke Slater, his original idea was to release music direct to you as simply as possible. It’s no coincidence that the technology of the internet and the technology involved with music are as valid as each other and can work hand in hand and here at Mote-Evolver we embrace all the technology available to get the music straight to you and into your ears as hassle free as possible and are constantly looking to the cutting edge to move things forward.

About Tom Talenberg:
After years of playing classic piano and guitar Tom Talenberg discovered his passion for electronic music going out in the rather small techno scene between Dortmund and Cologne. Turntables became his focus and his love for vinyl grew and grew.

When he moved to Berlin to study musicology in the first place, Tom realized that he didn’t want to be just a dancer and consumer in the local techno scene, but the one who produces and makes people dance.

In his sets he usually tells a story you can easily get lost in. Using deep, bleepy and minimalistic tools, Tom Talenberg always keeps it driving by his passion for rough sounds of the 90s and early 2000s.

In 2016 he found two guys as passionate about music as him, resulting in founding the party Exotic State which is held regularly @ Griessmühle/Berlin.

Right now Tom is working on his imprint Level Delta, which is going to be not only a label but also a musicological blog including a podcast series.

About Figure:
Berlin based Techno label founded by Len Faki.

Tom Talenberg About His Choice:
Actually i came up with the idea to choose Figure for ABC plays XYZ when i was listening to Remains by Jeroen Search which is one of my all time favorite tracks.

I have to say i just love every single production of him. His releases on Figure and especially Figure SPC have always inspired me and i use them a lot in my sets.

Another reason i choose Figure/Figure SPC is that the sound i associate with the label has a deep connection to one of the clubs where i truly experienced techno.

Moreover, the variety of great artists like Faki, Setaoc Mass, Cleric or Markus Suckut that have released on Figure fascinated me. Though, i realized that this variety is a big challenge since most releases have a totally different sound. So i think the sound of Figure in general is not very distinct, except the productions of Faki or Cleric. The label has developed a lot over the years.

Therefore, i had some trouble to find a common thread while picking tracks and matching them. Especially because i also wanted to put my personal stamp on this mix. But in the end, i figured it out..

About Nostitz:
Born and raised in Bavaria, Nostitz aka Jonas von Wiedebach discovered his passion for music at a very young age. After playing several instruments throughout his youth, he found his love for electronic music at the age of 16.

After moving to Berlin in 2011, he and some friends founded the label „Fairplay Records“, which was going on for about 2 years. Ever since he is organizing parties and open airs, producing and DJ’ing. His latest project is the semi-regular event series „BACKGROUND. CODES“.

His DJ sets can range from hard hitting techno with a love for acid and old school tracks to groovy house.

About Fachwerk:
Founded in 2007 by Mike Dehnert.

The Berlin-based label Fachwerk continually breaks the mold and sets new standards in the world of high-end dub-techno and reductionist club music.

Over the course of 30+ releases, Fachwerk has never strayed from its addictive and highly effective sound philosophy: Groove is Central, Bass is Life, Texture and Detail are essential. The result is a stunning catalogue of truly underground club and experiment music, that has see the label Artists become world renowned producers and DJs.

Fachwerk is just one of my absolute favorite labels.

Often ranging on the border between house and techno, with a clear love for chords and dub-techno. Just perfect.

Especially Mike Dehnert often manages to bring a certain groove into techno, which I wish more people would do.

All the best to you guys, for another 10 years of Fachwerk with incredible releases.
