The Hamburg based Nic Araújo contributes an eclectic EP of modern electronic music to the Nulectric catalogue. When Ambient is dancing with ambitious Patterns and flows in time with spacy synthies, its Nic’s turn! Starting with a wonderful Ambient-Intro called “Luona”, he constantly developes the ruslting breakbeat trip “Oceanity”, which gives the journey its title. “Wormhole” cares for a percussive and rousing arrival at the destination dancefloor. In symbiosis with his musical works, he additionally created the cover artwork on his own as well. Dive in!

Bryan Black – the techno producer who cut his teeth as a sound designer and keyboard tech for Prince at Paisley Park Studios and who formed one half of acclaimed duo MOTOR – shares today “Howl” featuring Zola Jesus. This is the first taste of what is to come from “Thrust”, his forthcoming album as Black Asteroid, due this summer on Last Gang Records.
“Howl” is accompanied by a video directed by Sebastian Mlynarski, who says he wanted it “to be minimal and to feel like one vast landscape. I wanted the aerial footage of Iceland to mirror Zola’s face and to allow her gestures and motions to read topographically. I want the viewer to experience Zola as just another component of nature and not in any way a separate entity from it. We make up the landscape while alive and literally become one with it when we die.”
More About Black Asteroid:
While working for Prince, Black proceeded to create his own music- some of the most alien techno records released on labels such as Mute and Kompakt. These records caught the ear of Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. Soon after, Black was on tour with Depeche Mode with his band MOTOR, and recording songs with Martin Gore at his home in Santa Barbara.
In 2011 after years of recording and touring with MOTOR, Bryan wrote “Engine 1” to start a new chapter- returning to his techno roots in the boldest possible way. Black asteroid set about making techno from a new perspective, in a traditional song structure format. The first EP “Engine” was quickly signed to CLR records, became an instant hit, and was a precursor to what soon became known as industrial techno.
The fashion designer RICK OWENS picked up on what was happening, and used black’s music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators. Their next collaboration comes in the form of the debut album from Black Asteroid, coming in 2017 on Last Gang records.
