Press Info:
Mutewax is an underground techno label from Mauritius. Ran by Mutecell, it has featured artists such as Mike Parker, Héctor Oaks, Claudio PRC, and Denise Rabe.

Mutecell has over 10 years production history and includes releases on MSDMNR, Counter Pulse, Android Muziq, Diffuse Reality, Quant, Natch, as well as his own Mutewax and The Tentai Files.

“101 MOONS” is built for the hours after the room has stopped talking. Flat and relentless, almost no dynamic range left in it on purpose, a record made to sit under another one and hold the floor down. Warped analogue textures and vocal cuts move behind the drums like something you only half see.

“S1GIL” is the fastest thing here, and the least patient, it’s a raw, steamy, and jackin’ workout. Named after an amulet he actually wears, it does not build as much as arrives.

“P4PYRUS” provides answers from the other side: deeper, sneakier, a hypnotic groove that unfolds like a search rather than a drop.

“R3VENGE F4NTASIES” is the title track, with dancing modular notes and juddering bassline complete with dystopian atmospherics.

“SLOW BURN SCH3ME” is the longest, six and a half
minutes of haunting pressure in a quirky creation laced in abstract funk.

“B4D PO3TRY” closes with a melancholic feeling attached. Built to hold a room, it’s delicate melodies riding a broken beat, bittersweet and cinematic, but still cut for the floor.
