The ghost returns to the chapel – Blint 008 marks a significant shift in the producer’s discography. The A side usually contained a heavy, pounding techno track with a signature distorted kick drum. Now instead we find a rather orchestral, Detroit-leaning DJ tool which centers around a modulating organ-style synth that seems to be bouncing back from the walls of a century-old cathedral. The second track is a cyber-funk electro gem with a sweet, bleepy melody stretching out over rich pads and a bumping 808-styled beat. With Blint 008, the artwork also got a fresh touch-up with a new collaborator, Berlin’s infamous writer and artist Dream.
