Continuing his commitment to the supply of top-quality avant-garde Techno music, Berliner Marcel Fengler’s IMF (Index Marcel Fengler) imprint steadies itself for the third in a series of impressive compilation releases, welcoming some of techno’s most uniquely talented producers to the fore with a selection of robust underground jams.
Kicking things off with renowned Indian artist Arjun Vagale, you get your first slice of ferocity on the ravenous ‘Delta Drive’ serving pacy, industrial techno with an ominous sci-fi feel before Suara frontman Coyu’s ‘Deliberate Assault’ continues the raw and racy theme, flooding the track with thumping drums and piercing percussive intensity throughout.
UVB’s ‘Shinkansen’ comes next, breaking up the five tracks with an expressive fusion of vibes, combining dreamy melodic layers with hard-hitting, stripped-back grooves to deliver a refreshingly unique endgame. The Sixth Sense then plunges things back into the depths with ‘Regret’, building around an intricate arrangement of warped samples and hooking rhythmic phases before MarAxe arrives to seal the release with ‘Alada’ and its atmospheric blend of looping vox chops, ravey synths, hissing hat grooves and hammering kicks, rounding off the release with a relentless ebb and flow of hardcore peak-time industrial techno prowess.
