Over 35 years since their formation, Yazoo – Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet – are still acclaimed as one of the UK’s greatest pop duos. During their short time together they made two classic albums Upstairs At Eric’s and You And Me Both, released seminal hit singles ‘Only You’, ‘Don’t Go’, ‘Situation’ and ‘Nobody’s Diary’ and toured before disbanding in 1983. Their legacy was a sentiment and a sonic style which sent shock waves through the early-80s charts and continues to be heard in the latest pop hits and throughout contemporary electronica.

This re-issue of their classic debut album, ‘Upstairs At Eric’s’, includes 2018 Remasters of ‘Only You’, ‘Don’t Go’, ‘Goodbye 70’s’ and ‘Winter Kills’ on 180g Black Vinyl.

I welcome Głós on my label. Głós (pronounced ‘Gwos’), currently based in Tokyo, Japan has made a point out of not following the sometimes linear Techno patterns with his artistry. He comes from a band-focused Rock-environment and runs his own label, arranged to be a wildly experimental project. In his earlier years, Głós was in several ways a close contributor to the Ressort Imprint label. However, with “Scarlit Scandals” he delivers a perfect hypnotic track, not too calm, not too fast with a deep kick.

In 2022 we journeyed to the center of the earth with Agartha, Lasha Chkhaidze’s first album. This time we go the opposite direction, and fly towards the outer edge of the atmosphere.

Atmos, the latest offering of the young and talented Georgian artist, sees him explore the ether. Subtle and intricate layers are weaved together on the course of six tracks. This ambient album offers a completely different artistic direction compared to his previous work. Where melancholia and piano dominated Agartha, we are throughout Atmos taken into an otherworldly environment. The LP’s atmospheric undertone combined with its glitchier elements brings it into a lightly psychedelic dimension. With its really beautiful soundscapes and subdued intricate ideas, Atmos will undoubtedly please listeners of finely written ambient.
